Chapter 128: Chapter 128: Male Charm

"Husband, here are your documents," Wen Ran reminded him.

The latter hummed in acknowledgment.

She placed down the documents and turned towards the study’s door, but after taking only a few steps, his voice came from behind her, "Where are you going?"

When Wen Ran turned around, Fu Chenlie was flicking off ash from his cigarette.

The man’s pose in his office chair, both elegant and languid, combined with his handsome yet stern face, resembled a delightful painting, one crafted by a master.

"I... I am going to read my teaching qualification book," Wen Ran stuttered, captivated by the charming man before her.

He patiently flicked the fallen ashes with his cigarette end and spoke in a deep voice, "Bring the book here and read in the study."

"Okay," Wen Ran responded.

After replying, she left the study.

Closing the door, Wen Ran suddenly felt her face grow warm.

Previously obsessed with Fu Chenlie’s non-talking mouth, she hadn’t noticed his charm.

After gazing at him a bit longer just now, she realized how handsome he truly was.

Wen Ran suddenly felt a bit restless in her heart.

She had always known that the world was not short of outstanding men, be it their looks, aura, or capabilities.

But Fu Chenlie embodied all these advantages, merging them to radiate a masculinity that was uniquely his.

This charm had a wide range, a long reach, and tremendous impact.

Such a man was now her husband and would be for many months to come.

Wen Ran began to doubt if she could remain pure-hearted and not be seduced by his appeal.

Having gathered her books and returned to the study more composed, it was much quieter.

Only an office desk occupied the study. Holding her book, Wen Ran walked properly to the desk and asked the man, "Where should I read?"

Fu Chenlie remained silent.

However, he tapped his knuckles twice on the left side of the desk where a third of the space was vacant.

"I sit this close to you? Won’t I disturb your work?"

"As for your looks, they still fall short."

Wen Ran, "..."

She was very beautiful, okay.

Forget it, she didn’t want to bicker with him.

Wen Ran moved a chair, positioned it beside him, sat down next to the man, opened her "Comprehensive Quality" book to where she had left off, and continued reading with a marker in her right hand.

When the study quietened down, Fu Chenlie glanced at Wen Ran.

Her eyelashes were long, her skin fair, her hair the quintessential good girl’s style—natural color, shoulder-length.

Since their certificate signing, he had almost never observed Mrs. Fu this closely in such a peaceful setting, realizing at this moment that she was actually not obnoxious.

However, the thought that this woman was the Mrs. Fu his grandma had forced upon him ignited his fury.

Marrying Wen Ran was the first time in his life he understood what it meant to compromise.

Two years had passed, and he was still unclear about what had occurred during his comatose period from the car accident, how Wan Ning was forced out, and what she had endured over these years!

Fu Chenlie irritably raised his hand, pressing his temples repeatedly.

Suddenly, he commanded, "Wen Ran, answer me one question."

The reading Wen Ran was startled before looking up, her gaze bewildered as she faced him, "What question? Go ahead."

The man met her gaze, "It’s about having children."

Wen Ran instantly shrank back.

Because she felt that every time she discussed the topic of "children" with Fu Chenlie, he would lose his temper.
