Chapter 234 The Manager of the Meat Factory
Chapter 234: Chapter 234 The Manager of the Meat Factory
"There are actually no beasts in Beast Alley."
After witnessing the formation process of the pig-faced mask, Han Fei felt a bone-chilling coldness from within. It wasn’t beasts who killed living humans in the most cruel way, but humans themselves.
The older brother possessed an intrepid character, enduring severe pain and torture, trying to climb the post to retrieve his younger brother’s mask.
But the younger brother just coldly watched the older brother with hatred for everything, with only dissatisfaction remaining. It seemed to be eager for the older brother to die quickly and to become, like itself, neither human nor ghost.
The identical twins had similar appearances, but their characters were completely different.
One was sticky with blood silk and had turned into a pig-faced mask; the other, torn in flesh but still maintaining human dignity, struggled in Beast Alley.
The complex human nature becomes straightforward in Beast Alley, where in this chaotic and crazy place, there is no third option.
The older brother was still struggling on the hook, while the pig-faced monster watched him and let out a piercing laugh.
A moment later, a pig-faced monster with an extremely obese body "walked" out from the room behind the blood pool—the same one that seemed to make the hook penetrate the older brother’s shoulder.
Unlike the other pig-faced monsters, this monster had a severely deteriorated body with few human-like characteristics.
The massive body barely squeezed out of the room; its legs stuck together, with thick blood vessels extending all around its feet and back.
Some blood vessels were connected to the factory, while others stretched into the bottomless blood pool; it seemed as if the creature was part of the meat factory.
When the obese monster emerged, the pig-faced man by the blood pool stopped laughing. It appeared to be afraid of the other, turning around to leave immediately.
"A monster that fears another monster?"
Han Fei’s gaze shifted to the pig-faced monster connected to the flesh factory. It was twice the size of a regular pig-faced monster, with a fatty neck that sported a bell, much like a wind chime.
"This pig-faced monster is obviously different from the others. Is it the manager of the meat factory? If it were killed, would the meat factory fall into chaos?"
Hiding his murderous intent, Han Fei slowly clenched the boning knife, aware that killing the creature would not be easy—he had to find the right opportunity.
"The pig-faced monster, full of blood vessels, can control the things inside the meat factory. Only by killing it can the souls impaled by hooks be saved." Looking at the residual souls hanging on the right side of the balance, though they were wounded all over and severely mutilated, their souls contained a special power.
That power couldn’t be dissolved even by the blood pool and was extremely rare in the Deep World, like the most shining part refined in human nature.
"There are no other monsters in the meat factory now, but my power alone might not be enough..." Han Fei was still pondering how to kill the creature when suddenly, a loud noise came from the main entrance of the factory; walls collapsed and windowpanes shattered, as if someone was fighting at the factory gate.
Ready to move, Han Fei once again concealed his presence silently.
After a few minutes, heavy footsteps sounded as two bloodied pig-faced monsters, wary of each other, entered the meat factory.
The shorter monster was dragging two corpses of its kind, each covered with fine cuts, and their facial masks were completely shattered.
The other pig-faced monster was over three meters tall, the most robust creature Han Fei had seen since entering Beast Alley.
The monster, towering over three meters tall, had ancient patterns drawn in blood all over its body, much like totems. Upon closer inspection, they were somewhat similar to the ghost patterns on Han Fei’s body.
However, what caught Han Fei’s attention was not the ghost patterns on the monster’s body but the person it was holding.
"Cry?"
The skinny boy kept his eyes tightly shut, his body completely distorted and misshapen, his skin covered in strange symbols drawn with blood.
Whenever Cry struggled, all the symbols exuded a strong smell of blood.
"Did Cry kill two pig-faced monsters?"
Pig-faced monsters do not cooperate with each other. Cry must have fought consecutively, only to be finally ambushed by the one towering over three meters.
Observing the strange patterns on the creature’s body, Han Fei was also cautious. That pig-faced monster must possess some kind of special ability.
The shorter pig-faced monster threw the corpses of its own kind into the blood pool, where they dissolved along with the shattered masks. After doing so, it sneakily glanced at the obese pig-faced monster.
The opponent seemed to be the Manager of the Meat Factory, with the short, pig-faced Monster seeking some reward.
Today, the obese, pig-faced Manager was in a bad mood; after approaching the short, pig-faced Monster, it inserted a blood vessel directly into the shorter one’s chest and sucked several big mouthfuls of flesh and blood before tossing it aside.
Instead of getting a reward, it suffered a great loss of flesh and blood, leaving its body even weaker.
With fear, it glanced at the two of its kind inside the Meat Factory and scrambled towards the Exit.
After absorbing the flesh and blood, the pig-faced Manager showed a satisfied expression and then set its sights on the Monster over three meters tall.
The fight Han Fei had anticipated did not happen; the tall Monster obediently grabbed Cry and brought it to the edge of the Blood Pool, tossing Cry into it.
The moment Cry touched the blood, the entire Blood Pool boiled over!
The malice settled in the Blood Pool wound around Cry like chains, with the dark red bloodstains from the bottom surging up, like numerous little hands tearing at Cry’s body.
The skin was invaded by the bloody water, washing away the strange symbols and the skin that had imprisoned Cry, an agony beyond imagination.
Pitiful cries arose from above the Blood Pool, and the negative emotions of sadness and pain started to affect the masks and Residual Souls hanging on both sides of the balance.
The pig-faced Manager had not expected Cry’s ability to invoke despair on a wide scale; it immediately controlled the chains within the Blood Pool to drag Cry deep into it.
Only when the crying diminished did the masks and Residual Souls on both sides of the balance return to normal.
The pig-faced Manager glared fiercely at the abnormally robust Monster; if it had not left the room and noticed the problem immediately, Cry might indeed have caused great turmoil.
The persistent Grudge formed a vortex in the Blood Pool, and the cries gradually weakened.
Han Fei’s heart was also in suspense; he worried that Cry, too, had become just another mask.
Ordinary Residual Souls thrown into the Blood Pool would change immediately, but Cry was different.
It took a full ten minutes or more for the Grudge vortex to fade, and the pig-faced Manager manipulated the black iron hooks to fish Cry out.
Not a piece of intact flesh could be seen on the body; Cry’s Dark Energy had dissipated by a large fraction, yet its core memories not only remained but, under the tempering of the Blood Pool, had become clearer.
Cry had always feared facing certain scenes in its memory but, under the threat of Soul Scattering and unimaginable torture, it had unwittingly fused with the memories it had always avoided.
Cry was different from other Grudges—the stronger the Grudge, the larger the body size, but Cry was the opposite.
Now, those most painful memories had seeped into its body, once again supporting its frail form.
The pig-faced Manager and the other Monster only saw a dying Cry; they didn’t notice that when Cry was fished out of the Blood Pool with the hooks, it had already stopped crying.
The rusty iron hook dragged Cry to the edge of the Blood Pool while the pig-faced Manager was about to check on Cry’s condition again, but suddenly, there was a scream at the entrance of the Meat Factory.
The two Monsters looked back to see a pig-faced human head rolling on the ground—the short pig-faced Monster that had left first had been beheaded!
In the vast Flesh Factory, a woman’s insane laughter rang out, growing louder along with the increasing stench of blood, as a figure approached the Blood Pool.
The spreading mist of blood was like her skirt, her bright red lips outlining a heart-stopping curve.
The Dinner Knife in her hand kept dripping Blood Pearls, and the completely unhinged Xu Qin appeared in the midst of the Meat Factory.
All the Butchers were after her, yet she dared to come to this place!
The pig-faced Manager could not bother to check on Cry’s anomaly and directly hung it on the upper right side of the black scale.
It moved its bulky body toward the deepest room of the Meat Factory, but the crazed Xu Qin was already charging over.
With a roar from its mouth, the pig-faced Manager and the Monster over three meters tall were forced to respond to the attack; both were entangled by Xu Qin.
Seeing this, Han Fei, who was hiding behind machinery, knew his chance had finally come.
He released the Blood-colored Paperman and decided to enter the deepest room of the Meat Factory before the Manager.
