My Fortune-Blessed Leading Lady
Chapter 167: Happy Together

Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Happy Together

The old man loved fiddling with orchids, previously he adored the rare ones, but none of them survived under his care. Later, feeling it was a waste, he opted for easier-to-care-for varieties.

However, the orchids under the old man’s care never seriously bloomed even once on their original basis.

Which greatly disappointed the old man.

But he was also stubborn, the more he couldn’t keep them alive, the more he wanted to.

And so, it became a tale within the Bo Family.

Impressively, the young girl remembered such amusing stories. The commander reached out, touching the stem, "Ranran, do you think this orchid can bloom next year under your grandfather’s care?"

Yuran was startled, scratching her head with difficulty, awkwardly looking at the commander, "Godfather, I bet a hundred bucks that this orchid, by the time Grandpa returns, might just disappear within a month."

The commander laughed heartily, nodding in deep agreement, "We can’t let your grandfather hear this, or else he’ll say we’re making up stories about him."

The commander’s laughter was a bit loud. Right above the small garden was Bo Yan’s room. He had finally managed to fall asleep, but now he was woken up by his father’s laughter, feeling grouchy upon waking.

Throwing off the covers, he sat up, irritably ruffling his hair, grumbling: Isn’t this old man busy? Laughing so heartily in broad daylight.

Wearing slippers, he walked to the window, saw his father talking with Yuran, who had returned at some unknown time. Yuran was smiling, chatting happily with the old man.

Bo Yan’s sleepiness instantly disappeared, his eyebrows raised with interest as he watched the scene below.

No way, how peculiar!

Since when did this girl not run and hide in her room upon seeing his father? How could she chat so freely with him?

He could vaguely hear bits of their conversation, only fragments, unclear.

Now he couldn’t go back to sleep, so he simply got washed and left his room, heading straight for the small garden.

Though it was called a small garden, it wasn’t small at all, packed with many potted plants, all tended by Grandpa Bo. Grandpa and Grandma Bo were away on a long trip, and these plants were usually cared for by the household servants.

Today, feeling a rare urge and with Yuran back, the two of them set about loosening the soil for some of the plants needing it. Yuran had gone to drop off her bag and greeted Bo’s mother before running out with a stack of Grandpa Bo’s usual tools.

Holding a small iron shovel, she crouched under a tree half her height to loosen the soil around its roots.

The commander stroked his chin, pondering briefly before asking, "Doing this, are we going to kill it?"

Yuran studied it seriously for a while, "I don’t think so, I checked the encyclopedia."

Yuran spoke confidently, and the commander’s doubts were dispelled. He crouched down and began to work, chatting as they busied themselves. The commander remarked with a laugh, "I hear from your godmother that you did very well on your exams. I hadn’t had the chance to celebrate with you."

Yuran dismissively said, "It’s no big deal. I know how busy you are, godfather. Celebrating a bit today works too!"

"Is there anything you want?" asked the commander.

The girl in front of him had really changed a lot, in communication, in demeanor, as if she had become a completely different person compared to before.

Huh?

Yuran paused for a moment, deep down in her memory, this godfather of hers actually wasn’t very fond of her original self, even though it was someone else now, only she and few others knew the truth.

Had she misunderstood before?

Was her godfather actually quite nice?

"What’s wrong?" the commander noticed the young girl zoning out and asked, "Can’t think of anything?"
