My Fortune-Blessed Leading Lady
Chapter 166: People Change, Flowers Bloom

Chapter 166: Chapter 166: People Change, Flowers Bloom

Qi Nian knew she was no match for Yuran in eloquence, and after sticking with her for an entire afternoon and even after the classes had ended, she was ready to follow her out. Yuran walked to the door, stopped, and turned to look at her.

"Qi Nian, Miss Qi, are you planning to come home with me?"

Qi Nian’s face reddened with anger. "Who, who wants to go home with you? I’m just making sure you don’t get into my uncle’s car; who knows if you’re one of those little demons."

Yuran was speechless for a moment, then said, looking at her, "Don’t worry; your uncle isn’t coming today."

"Really?" Qi Nian immediately brightened up, seemingly forgetting the afternoon’s frustrations as if they never happened.

Seeing how quickly her mood changed, Yuran felt at a loss for words. "Yes, so you don’t need to follow me anymore."

Qi Nian’s excitement didn’t cloud her judgment for long; a while later, she said with righteousness, "No, I have to stay here and watch you. What if you’re lying to me? Yuran, do you like my uncle?"

Yuran, "Who told you that?"

Qi Nian twisted her fingers. "Don’t think that I don’t know. If you don’t like my uncle, why would you frequently go out with him? Can you please not like my uncle?"

Such a strange request.

Yuran asked her, "Why?"

Qi Nian glared at her. "Can’t you say something that I won’t like?"

How could this girl suddenly become so capricious and inexplicably so?

She sighed and stared steadily at Qi Nian. "Miss Qi, don’t you think your request is a bit too much?"

There are many kinds of affection; her feelings for Qi Younian were completely based on the admiration and fondness for a confidant, nothing more.

Yet, the young girl in front of her clearly hoped she had no contact with Qi Younian whatsoever, no kind of fondness at all.

Qi Nian glared at her, looking very angry. She stared at Yuran without saying a word, glared for a while, and then turned and ran away.

Yuran called out a few times from behind her, "Hey, hey..."

But it was futile as the girl ran off quickly, disappearing from her sight. Yuran felt something was off with her but didn’t think much of it, and casually hailed a cab, gave the address, and headed back to the old mansion.

...

The Bo Family’s old mansion.

Just as Yuran stepped through the gate, she saw the head of the Bo Family watering in the small garden. He noticed her almost the moment she opened the door, stopped what he was doing, and smiled, "You’re back?"

"Godfather," Yuran smiled too, the warmth undisguised.

The rebellious sullenness of the past seemed, as if overnight, to have been extracted from her body, leaving behind a girl who was now gentle, soft, yet dignified and elegant.

Seeing her smile at him and approaching step by step, the head of the Bo Family was surprised and raised his eyebrows.

This young lady, who in the past, upon seeing him, appeared as though a mouse had seen a cat, always seeming eager to disappear from his presence right then and there?

Even less so, to proactively walk towards him.

Stopping two steps away from the head of the Bo Family, Yuran paused, looking at the orchids he had just watered, "Godfather, the Ink Orchids, they are blooming."

The head of the Bo Family followed her gaze to see the robust stems emerging from the slender leaves, with several flower buds hanging, about to bloom, but not yet opened, in bud.

The slender leaves covered most of it, and he hadn’t noticed before. After Yuran pointed it out, he looked surprised. "I hadn’t noticed before, they are indeed about to bloom."

Yuran crouched down, watched for a while, then smiled, "Grandfather would be very happy when he returns."

At this, the head of the Bo Family couldn’t help but also smile.
