My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 476
Anton borrowed the medium mana stone that dropped and examined it briefly. Still, after a few minutes, he knew it would take much more extensive and detailed studying before he could learn anything slightly useful about the mana stone. He returned the mana stone to Flint, who stored it immediately in his bag.
“A few more of these stones and we’ll be able to buy a spatial item! No more carrying bags, and we can even store fresh and hot food,” Flint said joyously.
Norman and Ariana gave a mild cheer, and after that, they continued to move on after they made sure that Norman was back to normal.
Moving through a jungle was a grueling task for anyone, and even Anton and Ariana, who boasted a very agile physique with Anton because of his stats, stumbled or tripped once in a while. Not only that, Ariana had to stop to harvest some of the jungle plants that she found.
It would have been an extremely exhausting endeavor but for Anton’s Vigor Aura. Flint, Norman, and Ariana were extremely amazed at “Andrew,” who had a spell that took away their exhaustion, making them all vigorous even after going through the taxing road through the jungle. After several minutes, they encountered another group of enemies who lay in wait to ambush them. Because of Anton’s raven, the cat monsters who resembled overgrown Jaguars were discovered.
When the battle started, Anton appreciated the fact that Norman returned to being careful in his fights. There were around eight black jaguars, and Anton must say that their deep black fur coat were truly gorgeous. Since he was just a spectator, he noticed that Flint, Norman, and Ariana were being extra careful in fighting the cats. They avoided damaging the jaguars’ bodies, and he realized that the three probably wanted to skin the jaguars.
Because of the care that the three took, the fight was dangerous and longer than usual. Anton’s raven had to kill two of the dungeon cats to save Ariana and Norman. Once all of the cats were dead, Flint immediately tagged all of the jaguars and the dwarf, the elf, and Norman started skinning them.
“The cats’ furs are truly handsome. Are they valuable?” Anton asked while watching the three skinning the animals and Flint simply said “very”.
“I’m sorry, I’m not able to help you in skinning the cats. I don’t know how to do it and if I joined you, I’ll just damage the skin,” Anton apologized to the three.
“Please don’t apologize, Andrew. The spells that you’re using to make us powerful are extremely beneficial to us. Normally, a service like that is extremely valuable, and we’re thankful that you’re taking just a quarter of the share as if you’re truly part of our group. Even if you demanded ninety percent of the earnings, we would have gladly given it to you,” Flint said, and based on Ariana and Norman’s expressions, they fully agreed with what Flint had said.
During the next few hours, Anton and the three adventurers encountered several dungeon monsters that one would usually find in the forest. The most unusual ones were the Orcs and the Trolls.
The fight with the Orcs was a challenge since there were ten of them, and the Orcs were wielding weapons. Anton had to kill three of the Orcs using his raven just to make sure that not one of the three would be hurt.
Anton knew that the three realized that his raven was extremely powerful since it could kill even the monsters from the seventh floor with just one peck of its beak or one scratch of its talon. He was just thankful that the three didn’t ask any questions about the bird.
They started quite early, but when noon arrived, they had only fought around four battles, including the fight with the three large trolls. That battle was an eye-opener for Anton. Flint didn’t use his shield to catch the trolls' attacks, but copied Norman’s strategy of totally avoiding the monsters’ attacks. He knew then that the monsters’ attacks were extremely heavy, and if Flint met them head-on, he would be injured or at least, his shield would receive extensive damage.
Norman danced around the troll that he was confronting trying his best to reach its vital areas using his great sword. Ariana lured one of the trolls with her arrows and she continued to use hit and ran tactics until her troll died, then he assisted Flint next since the dwarf was having a much harder time avoiding the troll’s attack compared to the more agile Norman.
When Ariana joined Flint, it didn’t take long before they took down the troll and the two then assisted Norman in killing his troll.
Anton was a little impressed since at first, he thought that he would need to step in to save the three from the disgusting monsters using his raven, but they managed to fight the three trolls by themselves.
Flint tagged the three trolls when they died. According to Ariana, the troll’s blood was a sought-after ingredient by alchemists. Apparently, they were a needed material for regeneration potions.
The best part was, the three didn’t receive any injuries from the trolls, which Anton considered the three’s most difficult battle so far.
“Congratulations on defeating the trolls!” Anton told the three.
The three thanked Anton, and he could see them filled with exhilaration by the fact that they were able to kill monsters as powerful as trolls. Of course, they could only do so because of Anton’s buff, but it was still an achievement for them.
The four battles provided them with one medium mana stone, one small mana stone, and several bottles of troll blood.
To celebrate, Anton retrieved delicious food from his inventory. Some of those from high-end restaurants that he stored. After that satisfactory lunch, they moved on, and during the next seven hours, they battled different types of monsters. There were instances in which one of the three would receive severe wounds, but it would be resolved by Anton’s Cleansing Aura without any problem after a battle.
There was also an instance wherein Ariana was ambushed by a particularly agile flying squirrel monster and was wounded heavily in the middle of the battle. It was almost fatal, but Anton saved the elf by hitting her with a Holy Bolt, and his raven killed the squirrel monsters.
When the light had dimmed, which was equivalent to the sun setting, the four camped in a clearing wide enough for them to set up their tents. While they were eating dinner that Anton had provided, Flint told everyone about the loot that they had stored. There was a single medium mana stone, four low mana stones, and some of the monsters’ body parts, like their furs, blood, teeth, and other organs that would be purchased by alchemists.
Ariana also listed the different fauna and flora that she had collected and assured everyone that they were all valuable.
“We earned a lot of coins, and we haven’t reached halfway through this floor,” Flint said joyously.
“How do you know?” Anton asked.
“The warp key would indicate how far along the group is in a particular dungeon floor instance,” Flint answered and showed him the portal key.
Anton saw that half of the key’s color was different from the other half, and Flint said that the dim part of the key indicated the percentage of the monster that they had already vanquished. After dinner, Anton offered to clean everyone using his cleaning spell, which everyone gratefully accepted and told them that they could rest easily that night because the raven would guard them. He knew that the three believed him since they had seen how powerful his raven was.
