My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 477
Anton was a little surprised about the temperature in their camp when the sun had “set”. He had expected that a jungle would be cold at night, but it was almost freezing to him. They didn’t build a campfire since they used his enchanted stove of Firewall to cook their food and the enchanted lantern of Firebolt to light their camp, but he thought that the stove was a little too small to heat the entire camp.
The good thing was, he had a lot of enchanted items in his inventory since he had enchanted all of the remaining sculptures with the goal of selling them to increase his funds.
“Hey guys, it’s a little too cold. Flint and Norman can share the stove I left in the middle of the camp to heat your tent. Here’s one for you, Ariana,” Anton lent an enchanted stove of Firewall to the elf.
He briefly taught them how to use the stove, and advised them to not close their tent doors to avoid suffocating from heat while they slept. After that, the four of them slept with the Pearl of the Ocean making sure that the quality of their rest was the best.
The four woke up early the next day. Flint and Ariana returned the stoves to Anton, then, after breakfast, they didn’t even wait for the dungeon to brighten before they continued. They just utilized Anton’s enchanted lanterns. The fact that Anton’s raven was scouting for them made Flint comfortable in moving forward, even though it was still dark.
The first group of enemies they encountered was spiders. They were twice the size of the spiders that they had encountered on the second floor, and the monsters could cast spells. They shoot webs from their butts and it was extremely sticky. There were eight of the spiders, but Anton’s raven had to kill four of the monsters since the webs gave Flint and Norman trouble. At the very least, they now knew what to do the next time they encountered the same enemies.
Flint harvested the spiders’ venom glands because they were more valuable than the ones that came from the second floor of the dungeon. To the extreme excitement of everyone, their first fight for that day, which was also dangerous, gave them a medium mana stone.
During the next several hours until noon, they fought at least eight groups of enemies. The enemies were a combination of monster monkeys, jungle cats, huge spiders, vicious large squirrels that Anton kept calling tree rats, giant pythons, orcs, and trolls.
Each of the battles was extremely dangerous, and the only reason that Flint, Norman, and Ariana were coping was because of Anton’s buff and Anton’s Raven. There were some fights that his Raven had to kill half of the enemies.
“Without Andrew, we can’t survive in this floor yet,” Flint said while they were eating lunch and based on Norman and Ariana’s expression, they agreed with their leader.
“We’ll get there eventually,” Norman murmured.
“At the very least, I think the second floor will be easy for us. We might even be able to handle the third floor,” Ariana added.
Anton just gave the three empty platitudes like “You three can do it” or “I can see your battle prowess growing”. He suddenly wondered which floor his father could handle wearing the Enigma runeword armor and the Heart of Oak runeword weapon. Anders probably could be considered a powerful mage warrior already because of his legendary items.
During the next two days, the four went through several groups of enemies, but because of Anton’s Vigor aura, they kept going into battle almost non-stop. The moment Flint loudly announced that the floor was cleared, they all cheered.
Before they left the dungeon, they tallied their loot. They managed to get four medium mana stones, ten small mana stones, several herbs, and plants that Ariana assured everyone were valuable, and a lot of monster parts. Based on a rough calculation, the group’s total loot could amount to almost six thousand gold coins. The group was extremely joyful, and Flint, Norman, and Ariana couldn’t wait to buy a spatial item.
The three were actually not planning to save any coins and would use all their earnings to upgrade their gears so they could tackle lower floors even without Anton.
The moment they left the dungeon, the guild staff who were managing the portal were a little surprised to see them, but let them be.
“He probably thought that we just ran away,” Flint whispered to Anton.
Then they all went to the tavern to celebrate, and as expected, their celebration lasted until the wee hours of the morning. Flint and Norman were extremely vocal in their boasting of going through the seventh floor, and the dwarf even took out the four medium mana stones to show off to everyone.
When some of their friends asked if they would continue delving the seventh floor, Flint told everyone that they would be returning to the second floor and possibly try out the third floor. Norman then told everyone that the only reason they successfully cleared the seventh floor was because of Anton’s support powers. They kept on boasting about his buffing and healing abilities, and the boast made the adventurers’ eyes glow. They all started looking at Anton like he was an extremely pretty girl after they had been in the sea for months, which creeped him out.
After celebrating for a bit, Anton didn’t want to get drunk, so he activated his Cleansing Aura to clean the alcohol from his body. No one was affected since he removed everyone from his party system.
He went to his room at the hotel after saying goodbye to Flint, Norman, and Ariana. He was expected to stay at the hotel for a day more or at least until Flint gave him his share of the loot.
Anton didn’t plan to dive into the dungeon yet. He wanted to reach his ladder assassin's maximum level first, then he would try out the dungeon appropriate to his level.
The next day, Anton didn’t leave his room and started leveling up his assassin. He didn’t even go out for breakfast or lunch, but at around two in the afternoon, someone knocked on his door. When he opened it, he saw that it was Norman and Ariana.
“The hotel staff told us that you haven’t left your room since last night, so we started to get worried,” Ariana said.
“I’m studying so I can increase my healing magic,” Anton told the two.
“Flint isn’t back yet, but he should come in anytime now,” Norman said.
Anton joined Norman and Ariana in the common room to wait for Flint, and after around ten minutes, the dwarf arrived with a huge smile on his face. Flint gave him a purse containing one thousand five hundred gold coins and then showed off the amulet that he had purchased. It’s a spatial item as large as three cubic meters. It cost them three thousand gold coins, but Flint, Norman, and Ariana assured him that it was worth it.
That meant that the remaining coins that they had wasn’t enough to upgrade their gears so they planned to continue diving the second floor of the dungeon after a couple of days rest.
Anton then told the three that he would be returning to the city that afternoon to take a vacation and would probably return after here after a couple of weeks.
He saw that Norman wanted to say something, but Ariana stopped him. Anton had an inkling that it was probably to request for him to join them again, but he had already told them that he wouldn’t remain in a single group for now.
After their talk, Anton immediately informed the hotel staff that he had already vacated his room. He said goodbye to Flint, Norman, and Ariana and started walking back to the main city.
