My Favorite Game Followed Me! -
Chapter 475
The guild staff managing the dungeon portal was surprised when Flint told the man they wanted to enter the seventh floor.
“I assumed you all know what you are all doing? " the guild staff asked.
When the portal manager saw everyone nodding, he just shook his head and gave Flint the portal key for the seventh floor. The excitement between Flint, Norman, and Ariana was so palpable that the air above them was almost electrified.
The four entered the activated portal, and the moment Anton got his bearings, he saw that they were in a jungle biodome.
“Lucky!” Ariana exclaimed, and when Anton asked why, the elf said they could gather a lot of treasure from a forest environment in a dungeon.
The monsters that populated the biodome were filled with treasure inside their body, like furs, venom glands, teeth, and bones. Ariana also said that such environments also produced several plants that they could gather and sell outside to alchemists. Fortunately, Ariana, being an elf who grew up in a forest, was familiar with most of the plants that could bring them coins.
“That meant that we may have to spend several days here,” Ariana said, and Anton just shrugged.
The moment he decided to enter the dungeons, based on what Tobias, the old mage guild staff member that he talked to, Anton was already prepared to spend several days and even more than a week inside the dungeon. The fact that he had enchanted items that would make anyone comfortable, like his Frozen Orb air conditioner, his item that produces water, and his heating and cooking stove, would make any biodome somewhat tolerable. He also had several comfortable tents and beddings in his inventory, and his summons would make sure that he and anyone with him would be able to rest comfortably.
“What kind of monster can we expect from this floor?” Anton asked, and it was Flint who answered.
“Any monsters that live in a jungle, like orcs, and any magical animals that you can think of, like magical wolves, variations of magical cats, apes, monkeys, and the most annoying, insects.”
“This floor would have been impossible for us if you weren’t here,” Norman said.
Anton activated his maximum level Fanaticism with additional levels from his Diablo II items. He could see that Flint, Norman, and Ariana felt it.
“Did you just cast your spell that empowers us?” Flint asked.
“Yes. Why is there a problem?” Anton said.
“Your spell feels a little different. I feel more powerful,” Norman said.
Anton didn’t answer the man and just shrugged. He didn’t want to explain to them his reasoning why he used a lesser spell before.
They started their journey on the jungle floor. Anton had to admit that walking through the jungle was extremely difficult. Their view was obscured by surrounding flora and fauna, and those who were less dexterous would have tripped several times. Thankfully, Anton's stats could rival the most powerful warriors and the most agile assassins, so his walk wasn’t impeded by the surrounding obstacles too much.
“You’re a very powerful warrior, Andrew. Look at Norman and Flint stumbling through the jungle while you move like an elf!” Ariana said.
Flint and Norman looked enviously at Anton and Ariana, who were striding behind them effortlessly. They didn’t know that if Anton allowed himself to use magic, the travel would have been a lot easier since he could use Telekinesis to just fly through the jungle and wave the obstacles away, like the vines from the trees.
Anton didn’t forget to summon a single raven that was supposed to guard him and Ariana. The summon was flying ahead of them, acting as a scout, and because of that, the ambush that a group of monsters was preparing for them was seen by the raven and relayed to him.
“Stop! There’s a group of monkey monsters ahead. My raven informed that they are planning to ambush us,” Anton told everyone.
“Tell us when we're about to reach the place so Norman and I can plow ahead,” Flint said.
When Anton told Flint and Norman that the ambush area was just ahead, the two ran forward decisively. Anton expected that the monkey’s opening salvo would be to throw items at the warriors, like hard fruits and nuts, and even their feces but he guessed that it was wrong of him to associate the behavior of dungeon monsters to regular monster.
The monster monkeys all rushed to the two front liners, waving their claws at the two men. Flint braced himself behind his shield and retaliated using his axe while Norman used the length of his great sword to his advantage.
The monster monkeys who bypassed the two warriors were met with Ariana’s deadly arrows while Anton remained a spectator with his raven flying above them, guarding him and Ariana. The raven did kill a couple of monkeys that got near the two in the back, and it still took the raven just one hit each to demolish the two monkeys.
The power that the three exhibited was almost unbelievable. It was brought on by Anton’s maximum level of Fanaticism.
“Norman!” Flint suddenly shouted.
When Anton looked at the two warriors, he saw that four monkeys surrounded Norman and managed to tear his arm off, which greatly surprised Anton. With the power that they had, he thought that this battle would be easier.
Flint and Ariana became more spirited when they saw that Norman was greatly wounded, so after a few more minutes, all the monkeys were dead.
“What happened?” Ariana asked.
“I felt extremely powerful and got careless. I taunted all the monkeys, and a large one, with the help of three other monkeys, managed to get past my defenses and grabbed my arm,” Norman said with his face full of sweat because of the pain that he was now starting to feel since the adrenaline that was surging though his body was starting to fade.
Anton immediately switched to his maximum level Cleansing Aura since he thought that a better healing spell would be needed, but he knew that the Prayer Aura could also regenerate a limb since he had tested it before.
The three were flabbergasted when they saw the bone growing from Norman’s arm, followed by flesh and after a couple of minutes, his arm was good as new.
“Did it hurt when your arm was growing?” Anton asked Norman.
“No, it itches like no other though but since it only lasted for a very short time, it was tolerable,” Norman said who was examining his arm minutely.
“You’re not lying when you said that you’re healing spell can rival the most powerful priest!” Flint exclaimed.
“Yes. Normally, a wound like that for us meant that it was time for us to return to the surface, and if something devastating like an arm getting torn off like that, there’s a good chance that our group would be disbanded,” Ariana said quietly.
“At least now you know why I’m confident enough for us to tackle a deeper dungeon,” Anton said to the three proudly and the three nodded fully agreeing with him.
After that, both Flint and Ariana lectured and scolded Norman extensively and the two didn’t stop until Norman kept saying that he would be extremely careful and not be cocky from then on.
When all of the monkey monsters disappeared, they heard Norman shouting.
“Oh my divines! A medium mana stone! A thousand gold coins from the start!”
Flint and Ariana excitedly ran to where Norman was, and the three appreciated the large stone they said was a medium mana stone.
