Anton woke up the next day with a hangover. He didn’t know how long the party lasted, but the only thing he could say was that he needed it. He knew he behaved atrociously by pouring his heart out to Flint, Norman, and Ariana. He kept denouncing the Undead Coalition, telling the three adventurers how he hated the undead group.

He kept telling them, with the four of them severely drunk, that because of the undead group, he was uprooted from the country where he was born, and that his country didn’t even exist anymore. Anton told them that the supposedly powerful city that he and his family chose to reside in was destroyed by the Coalition and that they had to run, traveling from city to city like rootless nomads.

Anton told the three that during their journey of running from the undead, their family met a lot of friends whom they became very close with, and that all of them died because the ship they were using to travel to a new continent so they could begin a new life were destroyed by the Undead Coalition.

The three adventurers and most of the listeners declared that they hated the Undead Coalition as well and said that if any of them arrived in Ormunda, they would do their best to destroy them. Anton knew that those utterances from the adventurers were just drunken declarations, not to be taken seriously, but he still appreciated them.

After that depressing story time, the party return to happy revelry that lasted until the wee hours of the morning.

Anton’s hangover was severe enough that he immediately activated his Prayer aura. The aura healed him, but he knew that Flint’s group status was the same, so their dungeon delve to the third level would probably not start that day.

Anton checked the time and he saw that it was already eleven in the morning. He went outside to find some lunch and saw Norman and Ariana looking miserable at one of the tables in the hotel’s common room.

“Where’s Flint?” Anton asked the two, then he joined them at their table.

“Not so loud,” Ariana complained.

“Do you want me to heal you?” Anton asked.

The two looked startled.

“You can heal a hangover?” Norman asked, and Anton just nodded.

He added the two to his party system and activated the healing aura. Everyone knew the implication of the ability to heal a hangover, but the three just kept silent about it.

“Flint wasn’t affected by a hangover, so he brought all of the loot that we had gotten from the dungeon and will sell them. Once he returns, we will then accompany him to upgrade our gears after we give you your share. We planned to delve the dungeon tomorrow since we thought that with our state, we would not be able to do so today, but since you’ve healed us, we can dive today,” Norman said.

“I think it would be best to just go tomorrow so we can have the rest of the day to rest,” Anton suggested. Norman and Ariana just nodded their agreement.

Anton went outside to visit the restaurant,  and when he arrived, there, he asked the waiter to bring him their best dish. He thought that if the dish was good enough, he would order a lot of them to store in his inventory. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre, so he scrapped that idea.

After lunch, he explored the whole place. The establishments near the dungeon portal were limited, which was understandable since the city was nearby, so Anton just returned to his room at the hotel to rest. When he got there, he entered his Diablo II system and proceeded to level up his Ladder Assassin. After several hours, he heard a knock on his door, so he exited his system, but not before he noted that his Assassin reached level eighty-nine. Just a few more levels and his stats would increase again. Not only that, he could bring out another legendary item from the game.

When he opened his door, Anton saw that it was Flint. He joined the dwarf downstairs at one of the tables in the common room. It was safe enough to talk since there weren’t a lot of people there, since most adventurers would prefer to hang out either at the tavern or the restaurant.

“We earned a total of one thousand, two hundred and fifty gold coins! Here’s your part. It’s three hundred gold coins,” The dwarf said.

Anton thanked the dwarf and simply accepted the pouch of coins and stored it in his inventory.

“We’re planning to go to the weapons and armor store that we usually frequent to upgrade our gear. Want to join us?” Flint asked.

“No thanks. I don’t have any plan for upgrading my gear yet. Besides, I’m almost just a spectator and am currently not involved in battle,” Anton replied.

Flint just nodded and then left to join his friends to shop for gears. Anton could see how happy the dwarf was, and he could understand that feeling. After the dwarf left, he returned to his room to continue leveling up his ladder assassin until night arrived. He briefly stopped to eat dinner, then returned to leveling up his character until he got tired enough to sleep. His ladder assassin did level up to level ninety-two.

Early the next day, Anton, Fint, Norman, and Ariana gathered and went to the dungeon’s entrance.

“If we earn a lot of coins in this delve, we plan to buy a spatial item so we can bring good food and bring out more loot,” Ariana said excitedly.

The three were wearing brand-new gear. They almost looked like they were not beginners anymore.

Anton suddenly thought of the fact that the three were older than expected beginner adventurers compared to beginners in animes.

“At what age before you allowed to dive into a dungeon?” Anton asked the elf.

“As long as you’re an adult, you’re allowed to, but normally, groups will not allow someone wet behind their ears to join them. If you’re young and capable, you will have to prove yourself before groups will allow someone to join them. Like you, for instance. The first time we saw you, if you’re a simple melee character, we would not have entertained you joining us, but the fact was, you immediately declared that you have healing capabilities, any group will invite you to join them.”

The entrance fee for the third floor was still one gold coin. Norman told him that it would only change once they applied to enter the tenth floor. Starting from the tenth floor, the fee would be two gold coins for the beginner dungeon and would add another gold coin every ten levels.

“Wait!” Anton shouted at Flint before the dwarf paid the guild staff the entrance fee, then he asked the dwarf and the other two to talk first.

“Why don’t we head to a deeper dungeon? I assume that the deeper we go, the more valuable the loot is. I’m quite sure that my buff and healing spells will still be capable of helping you defeat enemies at a deeper level,” Anton told the three when Flint joined them.

Flint, Norman, and Ariana looked at each other, but Anton could see the excitement in their faces. The fact that they could gather wealth from the dungeon and still be safe was a temptation that they could hardly resist. The three agreed that they would head to a deeper dungeon, but then they discussed which floor. They argued for several minutes until all three agreed to the seventh floor.

Norman was so excited that he was trembling. In the meantime, Anton adjusted his Fanaticism to level ten so that everyone would receive the maximum buff given by the aura.
