The next fight was with a group of kobolds. Anton didn’t activate any of his auras as planned, and the fight was difficult for the three. There were around twelve kobolds, and his raven killed three of them.

After the fight was over, Anton then activated his Prayer Aura. When everyone was fully healed, he then switched to the Vigor Aura to make sure that everyone’s stamina was full.

“Without you, Andrew, the second floor is still doable for us, especially once we’ve upgraded our gear. We need to take it slow, though, so an adventure for us here will take us several days, but again, it’s doable,” Flint concluded, and Norman and Ariana agreed with him.

That conclusion filled the three adventurers with excitement because it was a sign of clear growth. They were extremely grateful to Anton since he was the one who facilitated the growth that their group was currently undergoing.

The kobolds did not provide any loot, but again, with the four mana stones that they had received, everyone was still happy, and the fact that the day had just begun, they would encounter more enemies that could provide them more mana stones.

After a grueling ten hours of battle with the dungeon monsters, they only took a break at around noon. They encountered around two enemy mobs per hour, so at around noon, the group defeated around eighteen to twenty groups of enemies. The enemies were a mixture of kobolds, goblins, spiders, slimes, and wolves. Anton considered the dungeon monsters they encountered still beginner monsters.

Flint, Norman, and Ariana were ecstatic, though. They received another three mana stones, which brought their total to seven. That amount of mana stones was unprecedented for beginner groups. Anton heard the three already planning which gear they would purchase once they were out of the dungeon.

The fact was, they were able to continuously fight without stopping because of Anton’s Vigor aura. The group also didn’t continue fighting without any of Anton’s auras since they had already found out their actual capabilities without them. Their main goal was to complete the dungeon as soon as possible, and with their rate of killing the dungeon monsters, they should be able to finish the dungeon before nightfall.

During lunch, Anton was still the one who prepared their food solely because he did not want to eat the others’ offering, which were dried meat and hard bread. At least the dried fruit was a little acceptable, but the others felt like a form of cruelty devised to torture adventurers.

Flint, Norman, and Ariana kept praising the food that Anton served to everyone, even though they were just simple fare that any college student knew how to cook. For lunch, Anton cooked another simple fare, which, to be honest, was the only kind of food that he could cook. He cooked a huge amount of bacon omelet with garlic and tomatoes, and heated a large number of bread slices with butter in a pan. Even with that simple cooking, Flint, Norman, and Ariana were very satisfied and grateful.

After lunch, they continued plowing through the enemies in the dungeon nonstop. The dwarf Flint, the elf Ariana, and the human Norman were amazed at how they were able to continue fighting without feeling exhausted, so Anton reiterated his explanation about his Vigor Aura to them.

“Your priestly spells are truly miraculous. The moment you decide to join a group permanently, I’m quite sure that group would soar to the heavens. I forgot to ask, which god or goddess do you serve that provided you with your spells?” Flint asked.

“I’d rather not say,” Anton said, since his spells weren’t provided by any deity.

Anton was just glad that religion was something personal that a person could keep to himself, and others would not insist on prying into it. It was out of the norm for clerics and priests though, since the usual behavior of clerics and priests was to keep on talking about the deity they worship, but it was still a choice, and adventurers usually respect it.

The next six hours were the same. They fought continuously without stopping. They earned another two mana stones, bringing their total to nine. The group didn’t even bother to loot any of the monsters’ body parts, like the spiders’ venom gland or the wolves’ pelt.

The moment they completed the last group of monsters, Anton heard a bell-like sound.

“What’s that!” Anton asked the three.

“That’s the sound the portal key would produce to signify that there weren’t any more monsters. It’s time for us to leave,” Flint said happily.

Before activating the portal, Anton told everyone that he wanted to clean up first since he was filthy. He was embarrassed to walk back into the hotel, stinking like he crawled through a sewer pipe.

“It’s actually normal and understandable for adventurers to stink once they get out of the dungeon. That’s why the hotel had a special door that led to the bath for adventurers who had been to the dungeon,” Norman shrugged, but they didn’t stop Anton.

Anton cast his cleaning spell on everyone, and that removed all the filth and stink from their bodies and belongings. Ariana looked extremely grateful. After that, Flint activated the portal key, and a gate appeared. The three exited the dungeon and stumbled into the outside world.

“Let’s go to the hotel to stash our things, then let's meet at the tavern to celebrate!” Flint exclaimed.

The four adventurers agreed and happily went to the inn. After changing their clothes, since the ones they were wearing, even though they were clean because of Anton’s spell, looked worn out because of the damage they received from the monsters’ attacks, they all went to the tavern to start drowning themselves in alcohol.

After about an hour of nonstop drinking, the boasting started. Flint, Norman, and Ariana were truly loud in their boasting about finishing the second floor. They even told to anyone who would listen, which was everyone in the tavern, that they earned nine mana stones.

When an adventurer asked how they managed that, the three started boasting about Anton’s capabilities. They kept telling everyone that because of Anton’s spells of boosting their power “a hundred times”, and that his healing spells rivaled the most powerful priests’, the listeners were truly amazed. When they heard that Anton could also take away the fatigue brought by fighting, the adventurers began looking at Anton in awe.

Since Anton was also drunk, he just agreed to whatever the three were saying, and kept on smiling foolishly, but at least he hadn’t lost his common sense and showed off his magic. He was supposed to be a cleric or a warrior priest, so showing any wizardly magic that couldn’t be attributed as holy magic was a major no-no.

The problem was, the three were also vocal about the fact that Anton didn’t join their group permanently, and was actually planning to switch between groups. All of the leaders of the adventurers began approaching Anton, but Flint suddenly behaved soberly and announced to everyone that he had already promised to join the next dungeon delve on the third floor, so those who were interested in asking “Andrew” to join them would need to wait after that delve.

Even though Anton was drunk, he knew that all the leaders of the adventurers in that tavern that night knew which room he was staying in at the hotel. He was fine with that since he did plan to switch groups, but of course, he also planned to announce after diving with Flint’s group that he would only do a dungeon delve once or twice every month.
