Chapter 84: Chapter 0084: A Blind Cat Runs Into a Dead Rat

"Hmph, you’ll see what happens once we get to the police station."

Lin Xue got into the passenger seat and immediately told the driver to drive. On the way, she pulled out her phone and apologized, "Su Xiaoxi, I’m sorry, I just had a case to handle, so I had to leave first."

"Oh, alright. Anyway, I’ve already gotten used to your sudden disappearances."

A complaining voice came from the other end of the phone.

Lin Xue’s face flushed as she said, "Xiaoxi, I promise I will spend proper time with you next time."

"Fine, bye."

Su Xiaoxi said from the other end.

After hanging up the phone, Lin Xue looked up and saw Tang Ming in the rearview mirror. This guy really was carefree, now leaning back on his seat asleep as if he were a pig not afraid of boiling water.

In the office of the Songlan City Police Patrol Squad, Captain Zhou’s anger flared up threefold after hearing Lin Xue’s report and seeing Tang Ming brought in again. He slammed his hand on the table and bellowed, "First lock up those two fake cops, and as for the one who was poisoned, look into it thoroughly to see if it’s real or feigned. These people are truly lawless."

Lin Xue was stunned. How did Captain Zhou conclude that those two were fake policemen without an investigation?

Because Captain Zhou absolutely trusted Tang Ming, when Lin Xue mentioned that Tang Ming was certain they were fake cops, the captain immediately believed that they must be phonies.

"Captain Zhou, we haven’t clarified the situation. How can we just lock people up? Besides, those two officers are still bleeding. How can you treat them like this without giving them first aid?"

Lin Xue said dissatisfied, also wondering how Captain Zhou could trust Tang Ming so much. He believed whatever Tang Ming said and doubted everything she said.

"Enough, you, after all this time as a cop, can you not distinguish the real from the fake?"

Captain Zhou instructed another officer next to him, still fuming, "Take this badge and check it properly."

"Understood, Captain Zhou."

The officer took the badge and logged into the internal system database on the computer. In less than a minute, the authenticity of the badge was verified.

"Captain Zhou, they are all fake."

The officer reported and brought over the badges.

"Now do you believe it?" Captain Zhou said to Lin Xue with a smile.

"Captain Zhou, but Tang Ming is no saint either. It’s a fact that he hits people, and there’s the issue of poisoning."

Lin Xue tried to argue her point.

"Lin Xue, you go on down. You don’t need to deal with this," Captain Zhou said, shaking his head.

"Captain Zhou, but..."

Lin Xue tried to say more.

"This is an order!" Captain Zhou raised his voice.

Lin Xue stomped her foot and stormed off fuming. Once in the hallway, she muttered to herself,

"You deem Tang Ming innocent without even an investigation. What kind of benefits have you received from him?"

In the office, Captain Zhou sat in his chair, pondering the matter, and finally took out his phone to make a call:

"Hello, Officer Lin, this is Zhou Dahai from the Songlan City Patrol Team. Tang Ming was brought back to the police station by your sister Lin Xue today, and she also brought in two people posing as police officers. Would you like to come over and have a look?"

"Oh, okay, I’ll be waiting for you."

Half an hour later, Lin Canghai arrived at the police station, and after reaching the Patrol Squad, he directly interrogated the two fake cops. These two weren’t just impersonating officers, but just like the last time, they were international fugitives!

This terrified Captain Zhou. It turned out to be a major case after all, and thankfully, Lin Xue hadn’t messed it up. She even took international fugitives for policemen, which was amusing to think about. If she weren’t Officer Lin’s sister, Captain Zhou would have already told her to get lost.

"Officer Lin, Lin Xue holds a deep prejudice against Tang Ming. She even suspects me, her superior, of covering for Tang Ming. Do you think you should talk to her and clarify this to avoid her interfering with Tang Ming’s missions in the future?"

After thinking for a while, Captain Zhou decided to mention Lin Xue’s attitude.

"Alright, I’ll talk to her."

Lin Canghai was about to step out when he stopped in his tracks and said, "Captain Zhou, you go ahead and release Tang Ming first."

"Right, I almost forgot about that."

Captain Zhou slapped his forehead and hurriedly ran to set Tang Ming free.

At the entrance of the police station, Lin Canghai found his sister Lin Xue and smiled, saying, "You still haven’t changed, always so impulsive in handling matters."

"Brother, do you know about what happened today?"

Lin Xue was initially happy to see Lin Canghai, but her mood soured upon hearing his words, realizing that he knew about her embarrassing incident.

"Little sister, those two fake police officers are international fugitives, I’ve confirmed it."

Lin Canghai said earnestly, "As a police officer, your hatred for evil is good, but you were just a bit too impulsive."

"Hmph, Tang Ming really is lucky, even a blind cat can find a dead rat."

Lin Xue stubbornly voiced her dissatisfaction.

"Alright, little sister, those two fake police officers are Six-star Martial Artists, do you really think any blind cat can take them on?"

Lin Canghai shook his head as he spoke.

"Six-star Martial Artists? Seriously?"

Lin Xue had read the statements and knew that people in the Tea House said Tang Ming had defeated those two fake cops with a single move.

"Defeating Six-star Martial Artists in one move, who the hell is Tang Ming?"

Lin Xue couldn’t make sense of it in her mind.

Lin Canghai did not explain further, only instructing Lin Xue to avoid provoking Tang Ming in the future, then he took the two fake cops and left. Sadly, Lin Xue let it go in one ear and out the other.

It was Lin Xue’s day off today, and since Tang Ming’s case was resolved, she also left the police station. Just as she reached the street, she suddenly heard a car honking behind her.

At first, Lin Xue didn’t pay attention, but after several consecutive honks, she looked back and saw a BMW sports car slowly following her. The driver was a beautiful woman, her good friend Su Xiaoxi.

"Xiaoxi, you’re here?"

Seeing her good friend, Lin Xue’s mood improved somewhat.

"Lin Xue, you actually stood me up again today! You’re free now, right? Then I’m definitely going to treat you to a good meal to make up for it!"

Su Xiaoxi poked her head out of the car window and hummed.

Laughing, Lin Xue approached and said, "Hehe, it just so happens I’m free now, so we can continue to have fun."

"Then what are we waiting for? Hurry up and get in."

Su Xiaoxi opened the car door and said.

Lin Xue got into the car, Su Xiaoxi started it, and the two of them chatted while driving.

"What was that case about anyway? Can’t even have peace at an amusement park."

As Su Xiaoxi drove, she asked with great curiosity.

"Ah, it was just a jerk, but also quite a formidable jerk."

Lin Xue still had an unresolved dislike toward Tang Ming, although she didn’t understand why her brother told her not to bother him, she always felt that Tang Ming was not a good person.

"Hehe, who is this jerk? Making our Second Miss Lin so angry, tell me and I’ll have someone deal with him," Su Xiaoxi teased with a laugh.

"It’s a jerk named Tang Ming."

Lin Xue pursed her lips and grumbled resentfully.
