Chapter 82: Chapter 0082: Someone is Poisoned

The bespectacled man who had joined the table next to them suddenly convulsed, gasping for air, beads of sweat the size of soybeans appearing on his forehead, which caused the entire table to shake violently. He held the table, trembling uncontrollably, sending everything on it crashing to one side.

Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli experienced such an incident for the first time and let out a shriek in fright, then they stood up and retreated to the side, both pale-faced and clutching their phones, but their eyes remained fixed in stunned disbelief on the man who had suddenly fallen ill.

"Bang,"

with that sound, the bespectacled man could no longer hold himself up and crashed to the floor, convulsing. His face turned ashen, eyes bulging, and his legs kicked out wildly, hitting the table with loud thumps that terrified the other customers in the Tea House, who stared in amazement.

Standing nearby, Tang Ming observed closely. Based on the man’s symptoms, there was no doubt he was poisoned, but it didn’t seem too serious. However, the man’s current state appeared as though he had been struck by some deadly toxin.

"Whatever, maybe he has some grudge against the owner of the Tea House and came here for revenge,"

thought Tang Ming, deducing that the man’s exaggerated display of severe poisoning was nothing but an attempt to shake down the owner of the Tea House!

When a customer fell ill, many people’s first thought was that there was something wrong with the food in the restaurant.

"Let’s go, it has nothing to do with us,"

said Tang Ming to Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli.

The two girls were already scared witless, and at Tang Ming’s words, they quickly moved to leave the place.

But at that moment, two uniformed police officers burst in from outside, with faces Tang Ming found vaguely familiar—he felt as if he had seen them somewhere but couldn’t recall where. Perhaps they were Lin Xue’s colleagues?

As soon as the police entered and saw Tang Ming and the others trying to leave, one of them shouted, "Nobody leave; this might be a poisoning incident. We need to investigate before you can go."

"Right, everyone in the shop is a suspect, and we’ll take in for questioning anyone who tries to leave,"

barked the other officer with an aggressive tone, glaring fiercely as if he was ready to devour someone.

Upon hearing this, the customers either stood still or sat in their seats, confident in their innocence and unworried about the police investigation.

"Officers, you’re just in time, this has nothing to do with our establishment,"

exclaimed a bald man as he ran out from the kitchen.

He was the owner of the restaurant, and with someone falling ill so suddenly, his first reaction was to disassociate the incident from his business, lest the customers suspect the food and put him out of business.

"Enough, whether it’s related or not, we will investigate,"

said one of the officers discontentedly, then went straight over to where the man had fallen ill and bent down to check him. Rising, he announced, "It’s poison."

The other officer kept a watchful eye on Tang Ming and his two companions and then asked, "Who was sitting with him?"

"It was us,"

Liu Mengting cooperatively answered, "We saw him become ill, but we don’t know the cause."

"Oh, then you’re suspects, come with us,"

said the other officer as he pulled out handcuffs from his pocket, ready to make an arrest.

Liu Mengting, infuriated upon hearing this, furrowed her brows and protested urgently, "What do you mean? You have not even conducted a proper investigation, and you want to arrest us?"

"You are the most suspicious, come with us to the station,"

the officer declared loudly, unsatisfied.

"We can go with you, but we’re not criminals; there’s no need for handcuffs, right?"

Liu Mengting challenged, after all, being a city girl with her family background, she wasn’t afraid of the police at all.

"No way, we can let the girl go without, but the men must be cuffed, what if you guys resist?"

Another police officer barked coldly, reaching for the handcuffs to cuff Tang Ming in the midst of speaking.

Tang Ming swept a cold glance over the several police officers and said, "You really throw your weight around, don’t you? You want to cuff me without any evidence?"

"Cut the crap, believe it or not, I’ll beat you to death?"

That police officer suddenly burst out swearing and looked as if he was about to get violent.

Both Tang Ming and Liu Mengting were stunned at this; these people didn’t act like police at all but rather like crude bandits.

"Stop talking nonsense, cuff them and take them away."

The nearby police officer said harshly.

Just then, Tang Ming caught a glimpse of the man lying on the ground with his eyes open, looking right at the three of them, which immediately raised his suspicion.

Was this a trap? All this time, they had thought this guy was here to seek vengeance on the Tea House owner, but it turned out he was here for them.

"Damn it, if I don’t show you some color, you’ll think I’m easy to bully. You like being poisoned, huh? Then enjoy being fully poisoned!"

Feeling a surge of anger, Tang Ming flicked his hand, and a powder invisible to the naked eye flew onto the face of the man on the ground pretending to be sick.

"You’re police officers, you cuff people without a proper investigation, I can sue you for abuse of power, believe it or not huh?"

Li Xiaoli saw them about to cuff Tang Ming and began to argue assertively, her face filled with tension.

"Hmph! Cuff them both, to avoid any trouble."

The police officer sneered.

At that moment, Tang Ming suddenly burst into laughter, attracting a crowd of onlookers who thought he had gone mad.

"Enough, you two can stop acting, wearing such fake police uniforms, and calling some unlucky fool to pretend to be poisoned. You really think I can’t see through it?"

Tang Ming sneered and pointed at the man with glasses on the ground, "This is your accomplice, isn’t he? I’ll have you know, he’s really poisoned now. If you don’t take him to the hospital quickly, he’s going to die."

Upon hearing this, the surrounding people looked towards the man on the ground, only to see him foaming at the mouth. Though his convulsions were not as severe as before, they appeared more genuine, with his pupils starting to dilate.

These two police officers were none other than the crew-cut man and Xiao Wu in disguise, their appearances completely altered, making them unrecognizable to Tang Ming, who was only concerned about whether the glasses man was dead or alive, the key was to complete their mission.

Anger turning his face ashen, Xiao Wu’s temper was also extremely volatile, he reached into his pocket, and pulled out a gun, pointing it at Tang Ming he shouted, "Now, I suspect it was you who poisoned him, come with us quietly, otherwise one shot will blow your head off for resisting arrest!"

The crew-cut man hadn’t intended to draw his gun, but now that they had been exposed, there was no choice but to act fast and decisively.

"Heh, since when do domestic police get issued Desert Eagles? You guys are really something."

Tang Ming scoffed, his eyes and hands moved quickly, and while they were not paying attention, he kicked out.

With a scream of pain, Xiao Wu’s gun-wielding hand was kicked, and in agony, he could no longer hold the gun steadily, it fell to the ground with a clatter, far away.

"You dare resist arrest?"

The crew-cut man roared, attempting to draw his gun to wound someone, but Tang Ming was faster, rushing forward with a kick to his stomach, toppling the man to the ground, then quickly seizing the gun from him.
