My Bratty Wife -
Chapter 100 - One Hundred
Chapter 100: Chapter One Hundred
"Have you done what I told you to do?" The master’s voice echoed through the study, his long hair framing his face.
The servant nodded, his face a mask of obedience. "Yes, it is done, my lord," he replied. "I added the letter to one of the books in the library. She won’t refuse to read it."
The master’s lips curled into a satisfied smile. "Perfect," he said, his voice low and menacing. "Let’s see if any of them have the guts to do the needful."
The servant hesitated, a flicker of doubt crossing his face. "But my lord, isn’t the search for her mother going to disrupt your plans?" he asked, his voice filled with uncertainty.
The master pulled his hair back into a low ponytail, his eyes cold and calculating. "Not at all," he replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I know what I’m doing. Her mother isn’t even related to my revenge but he was there when it happened."
The servant was confused, but he knew better than to question his master further. He nodded, his face a mask of obedience.
"Leave Count Edmund for now," the master continued. "I want him to suffer before his death just the way they made her suffer before she died."
The servant nodded, his eyes filled with fear. He knew that his master was serious, and that he would not tolerate any disobedience.
"As you wish, my lord," he replied, his voice filled with fear.
The master watched as the servant left the room, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips. He would watch as they would destroyed each other, while he sat back and enjoyed the show.

Doris was dressing Suzy for night, having just finished her bath.
"Doris," Suzy said, her voice weak. "Is Ryan back yet?"
Doris hesitated, her eyes darting around the room. "No, Milady," she replied, her voice filled with concern.
Suzy nodded.
Doris continued dressing her, her hands gentle and caring. "Here, let me put your hair down in a low ponytail," she said, her voice soft.
Suzy nodded, allowing Doris to style her hair. After her work, she brought in a tray of food.
"Dinner, Milady," she said, her voice filled with concern.
Suzy forced a smile. "Thank you," she replied, but she had no appetite.
She picked at her food, taking small bites. So many things were going through her mind. Her thoughts clouded by the letter.
"Is Ryan back yet?" she asked again, her voice filled with anxiety.
Doris shook her head. "No, Milady," she replied. "I haven’t heard anything."
Just then, the carriage pulled up outside. The neighing of the horses could be heard. Doris smiled. "It seems His Grace is back," she said, her voice filled with relief.
Suzy nodded. "Good. I’m tired," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "I’m going to bed."
Doris nodded, understanding. "Good night, Milady," she said, her voice filled with warmth.
Suzy climbed into bed, closing her eyes as Doris closed the door.
Ryan stepped into the hallway, a sense of relief washing over him. He was finally home, safe and sound.
He handed his coat to Davis, who took it with a grateful nod. "I’ll have it cleaned," he said.
As Ryan turned to continue his journey to the study, he spotted Doris heading towards the kitchen. He stopped her, his voice filled with concern. "Where’s the Duchess?" he asked.
Doris smiled. "She’s in your room, sleeping," she replied.
Ryan nodded, a sense of warmth spreading through him. He hadn’t seen Suzy since that morning, and he missed her.
"Did she eat dinner?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
Doris hesitated. "Yes, she did, but she didn’t eat much," she replied.
Ryan frowned. Suzy was always so particular about her meals. He hoped she wasn’t feeling unwell.
" How is her bruises?" He asked hoping for a positive response.
Doris eyes sparkled with happiness. "It’s healing faster than it should your Grace, in no time the duchess will be fine." She replied.
"That’s good to hear. I’ll check on her later," he said, turning to leave.
As he entered his study, he noticed a stack of unfinished paperwork on his desk. He sighed, knowing that he had a lot of work to do.
He sat down and began to tackle the paperwork, his mind occasionally wandering to Suzy. He wondered if she was still asleep, if she was okay.
He worked for hours, the silence of the study broken only by the scratching of his quill on paper and the cackling of the fireplace. Finally, he finished the last piece of paperwork and stretched, his muscles sore from sitting for so long.
He stood up and stretched, his bones cracking. He was exhausted, but he knew that he had to stay awake. There was still so much to do.
He decided to take a short walk in the garden to clear his head. As he stepped outside, he was greeted by the cool evening breeze. The garden was bathed in the soft glow of the moon rays and the stars that illuminate the garden and the sky, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
Ryan wandered through the garden, his mind at ease. He was grateful for this moment of peace, this opportunity to escape the chaos of his life. His eyes drifted to a book under the tree beside him, he picked it up and accessed it concluding it is one of Suzy’s genre of books, she must have forgotten it when she entered inside.
After a while, he returned to the house as he went straight to the room, he opened the door, a loud gunshot rang through his ear as the bullet missed him scattering the vase behind him. Ryan looked around looking for the source of the gunshot, he saw a figure standing with a pistol as they reloaded it preparing for the next shot.
His mind went straight to Suzy, he glanced on the bed but it was empty, his thoughts wandered " where is she? Is she hurt?"Another gunshot erupted interrupting his thoughts but the figure missed again, this time he looked keenly and could see his pistol in the person’s head as she stepped into the light, her auburn hair in a low ponytail but messy strands of curls framed her face. She reloaded the pistol again this time a question escaped her lips "How dare you?"
Ryan’s heart pounded in his chest as he recognized the voice. It was Suzy, his Duchess, standing there with a pistol aimed at him. Her face contorted with anger and fear.
"Duchess," he gasped, his voice barely a whisper.
"How dare you?" she shouted, her voice filled with a mixture of rage and disbelief.
Ryan’s mind was racing. He couldn’t believe that Suzy was pointing a gun at him.
