Chapter 204: 204 Those who play with fire are easily burned, sudden accident (2 updates)
Kyle Lowe had quite a few worries on his mind lately, and sometimes he couldn’t help but be distracted, which is why he overlooked some unusual things happening around him, even Zoe Bell noticed something was off about him.
"Have you not been resting well lately?"
"No."
"Is Cousin Miss making you run errands again?"
Zoe Bell knew Hannah Johnson would occasionally ask him for help with things.
Kyle Lowe just smiled weakly.
Because of the matter between Hannah Johnson and Isaac Shea, currently, only Kyle Lowe and the auntie helping her clean knew about it.
When she wanted to do something, Kyle Lowe would tactfully refuse, and Hannah would laugh, "Kyle Lowe..."
"Aren’t we in this together?"
"We’re all in the same boat, how could you bear to refuse me?"
Kyle Lowe was going mad.
Who would want to be your accomplice?
It’s just that he didn’t tell his own master immediately, and the more time dragged on, the harder it was for him to speak up. Now, he was just hoping Cousin Miss would get tired, annoyed, or sick of this wild man sooner rather than later, and that the two would split on their own initiative.
That way, he could pretend nothing ever happened.
But, looking at the current situation, it didn’t seem like they were going to break up.
She would occasionally drink alcohol and ask Kyle Lowe to come over, specifically waiting for him at the school gate;
They’d rent out a cinema to watch a movie;
Dine at a highly private restaurant;
...
As far as Kyle Lowe knew, it was almost always Hannah Johnson who was spending the money.
He sighed:
When did Cousin Miss start acting like some rich lady keeping a toy boy.
But Mr. Shea was indeed quite a looker and very caring and considerate towards her. Any woman would be moved.
Their situation didn’t resemble cohabitation; rather, it seemed like they were seriously dating.
But Capital City is just so big,
Those who play with fire are bound to get burned.
You never know when things might blow up, and if that happens, he’s done for.
He could clearly see that Little Shea was eager to become official, and Cousin Miss herself was bold. So, it was not the thieves who were nervous but him, a mere observer, who was living a life of deep waters and scorching fires every day.
Sometimes, when taking Zoe places, he couldn’t help but be absent-minded and slack off.
William Hale would occasionally ask about Hannah Johnson’s situation, and while Kyle Lowe maintained a calm exterior, inside he was nearly scared to death.
"Cousin Miss has been normal lately, no abnormalities."
Zac Cruz stood by, his heart pounding as well.
Good job, Kyle Lowe, you’re acting pretty convincingly.
I can’t believe we’re not nominating you for an Oscar.
"Is that so..."
Back when Molly Hanson directed and starred in her own kidnapping drama and got sent to the police station, the person behind it all has yet to be found, even though he knows the person is currently more of a friend than a foe, he’s still uneasy.
"Master," Kyle Lowe took the initiative to speak up.
"Is there something else?"
"The madam’s online shop has been keeping me busy lately, I have to help with collecting parcels or buying ingredients for Incense Stick, it’s been quite overwhelming. For things concerning Cousin Miss, perhaps you could leave it to Zac Cruz. I believe with his abilities, he will certainly handle it well."
Zac Cruz was stunned.
The look he gave Kyle Lowe was almost fierce.
What, did I owe you in a past life? Why are you dragging me down with you?
Are you even human?
Kyle Lowe was usually quiet and didn’t ask much of him, so when he did speak up, William Hale naturally wouldn’t ignore it, and thus he glanced at Zac Cruz.
"Master, I’ve been really busy with company matters too, I don’t have the time either."
"Then you two take turns."
"..."
With the conversation at this point, what else could Zac Cruz do? He could only grit his teeth and agree.
When he saw Kyle Lowe privately, he cursed at him fiercely, spewing out all the classic curses.
"Have you gone mad dragging me into this?!"
"Didn’t you often say that we are the master’s left-hand and right-hand men, that we should share weal and woe together?"
"Get lost—this is you wanting to suffer with me? You’re just not having a good time and want to drag me down with you."
Kyle Lowe pursed his lips, "You’ve caught me."
At least, now he had a companion.
Zac Cruz had gone crazy.
"Right, since we’re taking turns, there are some things I need to discuss with you in advance."
"Speak!"
"Mr. Shea and Cousin Miss have started living together."
Zac was stunned, "When did that happen?"
"It’s been almost a month now, just after Mr. Shea last visited the old house, the two of them started living together, and their relationship is currently very stable." Kyle Lowe raised an eyebrow at him, "Put away that look of astonishment."
Who the hell asked about their relationship!
"They’re living together, might as well make it public!"
"It can’t be made public."
"Why not..."
"Right now, they’re just cohabiting, not in a formal relationship."
Zac ground his teeth.
So they’re just having meals and sleeping together without taking responsibility.
Cousin Miss really knows how to play.
He felt like crying but had no tears, "Kyle Lowe, you are going to be the death of me someday."
"It’s fine, if you die, I’ll accompany you."
"..."
Zac Cruz’s eyes were lifeless; these words sounded like someone wanted to live and die with him.

Due to a big promotion event, Zoe Bell’s online store was doing great business, with many orders inevitably leading to some negative reviews and requests for returns or exchanges.
One day, while Zoe was getting physical therapy at the Rehabilitation Hospital, she received a message from Joy Watson saying that a customer had requested an exchange.
The incense stick that needed to be replaced was a kind that rarely sold in her shop, and the old house didn’t have enough stock.
She had Kyle Lowe go buy materials and also check if there was stock at Yarden.
After finishing her therapy, she drove back to the old house alone.
She did occasionally drive out on her own, and didn’t think much of it. Besides, it was broad daylight, nothing untoward was likely to happen.
On the way, she also received a call from Junior President Payne’s assistant, saying that the design draft was revised and asked her to visit Payne Corps when she had time.
This Junior President Payne really was diligent, still working despite suffering from tenosynovitis.
"I’ve been a bit busy lately, I’ll stop by when I have time."
Assistant Law immediately laughed, "Then, please go ahead with your work."
After hanging up the phone, he glanced at the person next to him, "Miss Bell is busy and doesn’t have time right now."
Junior President Payne nodded, suddenly uninterested in work.
The assistant was helpless,
Are you really not falling in love?
Halfway through her drive, Zoe received a message from Kyle Lowe with a screenshot of a list of materials to purchase, asking if she needed anything else.
She pulled the car over to the side and replied:
[I’ll take a look at the list first, give me a moment.]
Kyle responded with [Okay.]
As Zoe was earnestly looking at her phone, she was completely unaware of another car approaching from the side.
"Bang—" all of a sudden, it hit the back of her car.
The huge impact startled her, shaking the car, and Zoe nearly hit her head on the steering wheel; she felt dizzy as she saw, through the rearview mirror, a seemingly cultured man getting out of his car, surveying the spot where their vehicles had collided.
Zoe was driving a Bentley Continental, obviously of great value.
The other guy was in an ordinary Volkswagen, with a panicked look on his face.
As Zoe got out of the car, he quickly bent over to apologize, "I’m really sorry, how much do you think your car... will cost?"
She glanced at it—the taillight was broken, there was a dent, and the paint was damaged.
"Let’s call the police, and then contact the insurance company."
Zoe noticed that there was nobody else in his car; he was driving alone, and his cultured appearance made her lower her guard.
"Right, right, in my panic, I forgot to call the insurance company." The man kept a close eye on Zoe.
She was about to phone the police when the man suddenly stepped forward and covered her mouth and nose with something.
A suffocating, pungent odor enveloped her.
Zoe realized what was happening too late to hold her breath; she had inhaled a few times already. After struggling for dozens of seconds, everything went black before her eyes.
Another van passed by, and two more people got out of it, swiftly dragging her into the vehicle.
Kyle had been waiting for Zoe’s reply, which wasn’t like her character at all to delay.
Calling again, it showed no response.
Could it be...
