Chapter 94: Incoming Plight

There were numbers of men standing at the first floor. AiLin could see their heads from above before she even reached the staircase, noting that those men were wearing an emblem pin and then finding Tsuki, the sunglass man who claim to be Li ZiChen’s subordinate standing as the leader of these men, this was enough for her to guess that those men were Li ZiChen’s men.

She knew the rumors— of how Li ZiChen’s maternal family hail from the Japanese mafias, so would that mean he now control those men?

Was this his secret to achieve all his success? Why he was so feared as if he was the walking fallen angel of the heaven?

She concluded that he does often show himself to be someone with some loose screw but not so insane as to be someone who was so bloodthirsty and without morals as she imagined the mafias would.

When they reached the first floor, AiLin saw the men forming two lines beside the red carpet in a haste. They then signaled each other before bowing deeply in a ninety degree angle and letting out a loud yell, "Pleasure to meet you!"

AiLin flinched that she almost fell backward and felt a touch of Li ZiChen’s hand on her back. When she turned, he seemed vexed about something while staring at her waist.

Li ZiChen had made sure that Nanny Po had fed AiLin well enough and she was said to eat more than before when she was in prison but why was her waist so tiny that it fit to his hand?

The man didn’t realize that perhaps he also has a bigger hand and that her waist wasn’t as small as his imagination but was certainly smaller than a man’s.

"What?" She asked and he looked back at her who seemed sensitive. "I don’t get surprised by loud noises," she remarked, making it clear that though she had flinched it wasn’t because she feared his men and that she didn’t want to appear weak in front of him.

She had only flinched because of the decade of conditioning where she was yelled multiple times per day by the Jiang couple and the servants. It had made a nature for her body to always be on edge whenever she heard loud noises.

"I know," he said before calling Tsuki toward him and flicked his forehead loud enough for her to almost hear a crunch. Li ZiChen then stared at his subordinate, "Didn’t I tell you not to make loud noises?"

Tsuki pursed his lips as if he had been accused, "I told them, but the kids don’t listen to my orders."

Li ZiChen waved him away and shooed him from the spot. He then nudged his chin, telling her to look forward and when she did, she found OuYang whose hands were bound with a clear cable tie around his wrist that was tied so tightly that it had caused his wrists to turn bloody.

Speaking of blood, there was more blood around his face as his eyes had turned triple the size with a wide swollen bulge and his once handsome face had turned bloody and grim.

She sighed seeing the sight, "Funny, never thought you would look like this OuYang. Back when you were young, you were never the handsome type and you were always upset whenever you hear someone telling you that you’re nothing but a poor orphan with an ugly duckling face."

Her words set off OuYang at once who stared at her angrily and yelled, "What the fuck?! Miss AiLin, just because you’re on friendly terms with Boss Li, you should watch your mouth."

"Oh where was your polite manner you showed me earlier?" AiLin hummed, "Don’t you like my money? I knew that you would only bow down to someone who has money on their hands so shouldn’t you be barking for me?"

OuYang gritted his teeth, "Is this because of Lu Ping? Is that why you had called Boss Li here— to create chaos in my nightclub?!"

"Oh what, Lu Ping? I forgot about her," she brushed off as it seemed OuYang still didn’t realize why she was here. Perhaps he only thought that Lu Ping had offended her which was why she had came here with Li ZiChen to vent out her anger. "No, I wouldn’t have came here for such petty reasons. You might do that but I don’t. Don’t you think there is something that you have done to me that might have beckoned me to do this to you?"

She saw how OuYang was shuffling through his brain, thinking what could it be that made her came here to create chaos in his beloved haven. She saw how he didn’t seem to figure a single cent of the problem and then stared at Li ZiChen as if trying to find for a leeway to run from this problem unscathed.

She raised her hand and then dropped all its weight down to OuYang’s cheek, the slap was loud enough that even the Morningstar men wince upon hearing the hard sound of flesh being hit.

They saw that not only did she had slapped OuYang she had slapped him enough for scratches of her long nails to dug to his skin and for his teeth to fall off.

The men wondered what kind of training AiLin had gone through as those frail hands seemed to be holding more power than it appears.

She then pulled back and saw OuYang who was still dizzy as his head fell backward.

"I thought hitting would help your head," she stared at him and widen her smile, "Think about it again, I’m sure you can OuYang. I want to give you more credit of being smart but I don’t think I can if you keep acting like a fool. Do you know why I am here?"

OuYang was feeling the burn on his skin that hurt him. He questioned what it could be— what makes the Boss of Cage Company to come here with the intention of ruining him?! He never harmed the Cage Company directly and although he did order Lu Ping to bring Canary to the nightclub so he could somehow force her into agreeing on loaning him money, he didn’t think that was enough reason for AiLin to be mad— and she had indeed denied that she came here because of that.

Then what else could the reason be?

He wrecked his mind, searching for answer only to find nothing.

No- nothing!

He looked at Li ZiChen and instead questioned how this man who had reached the pinnacle of power would be here, helping AiLin so openly.

Cage Company was known for their extensive wealth and how they wouldn’t hesitate to loan money no matter what’s the amount but that was it. There were plenty of other loan shark companies than Cage Company that could help Li ZiChen if that was all he needed.

By how Li ZiChen was so friendly and even smiled at AiLin, he then questioned if Li ZiChen’s only reason for helping AiLin is because he likes her...?

How could that be?

Weren’t the rumors about him being a frigid man who hates women confirmed?

OuYang who couldn’t find an answer instead had his thoughts flying here and there but it stopped until one point when he stared at AiLin and then at Li ZiChen, "I’ve seen you before. Once, in the past. Haven’t we met?"
