Chapter 95: Mouthful of Nails

Silence rang in the room and AiLin narrowed her gaze.

She didn’t believe that for once OuYang could actually remember her. She crossed her arms and stared at him, "You remembered?"

OuYang still stare at Li ZiChen and then at her. When he found her gaze looking beneath at him with such condescending look in her foxy eyes, a memory resurfaced.

The memory was an image of a woman with the long straight black hair.

When he was young, he had went to a prestigious high school. In it there were only wealthy children with important background. He never fit but he knew a lot about the children whose rank soar above the rest of their peers.

That one person was the most beautiful girl in the high school. He had once seen her when she walked to the gate of the building on the first day of high school. Her back was straight, she was poised and her air was that of a nobility. Her lips were bare from smile and she didn’t look like how she does now. Back then... she was strict. Her eyes were so bleak that it made her look at everyone as if they were a disgusting worm that should have been stepped on by her clean shoes.

Yes.

That girl was then bullied for that wasn’t she? She was bullied so terribly by all these rich kids who only know the worst kind of power plays and oddly enough though she hail from a wealthy family, no one had really helped her. Her friends turned their backs on her plight and her family didn’t seem to care enough to come to the school despite her having bruises all over her body until her beautiful face was always covered with bandage.

Oddly enough, she was even covered with more wounds when she came back to school, signaling that even at home, she wasn’t free from abuse. That signal only allowed for further more bullying in school that couldn’t even be called as bullying— it was plainly abuse.

Mentally and physically, and even socially, she was ruined. She had lost trust to almost everyone including the teachers who pretended that nothing had happened when they were bullying her right in front of the class.

The bullies didn’t stop either. They felt vexed that she had never cried once no matter how much she had been hurt and they were doing all their best to solicit any expression of desperation and for her to beg for help by doing even worse things that one’s head can only imagine.

Then what had happened?

Right. He remembered!

Lu Ping hated that girl too, so she hired him to assault her. He had done it in agreement with a few of his friends.

First they had trapped her in the gymnasium, telling her that her beloved "boyfriend" was caught in the gymnasium. Then when she stepped inside, they had hit her.

She wasn’t an easy prey, however, and she had came with a metal bat. She had beaten him well enough as well as his other friends but they had managed to pin her down and took some great video. They didn’t manage to go all the way because she had bitten someone’s tongue off and then she came to him a few days later, demanding for the video which he had refused.

So in wrath, she had taken a box cutter and aimed for his neck.

It was OuYang’s first time to ever see the real madwoman. She was insane, loose screws, a woman so undesirable despite her beauty.

She had almost slit his neck but she managed to dodge it with her hand. Other classmates stopped her before she could kill anyone and then... she was brought to the counseling office and was told to be the bully instead the victim. After that she came to school with a broken arm and a large stitch wound on her head, apparently done by the people in her own family house.

After that, OuYang swore he was going to make her day even worse, playing as the bully and instigator as he also found her as an eyesore.

"AiLin..." OuYang frowned, "That was your name?"

"Took you so long," AiLin commented with a sigh and then she heard Li ZiChen from behind her pulling a chair for her to sit down at and she took his offer, plopping down her bottom on the chair and then staring beneath at OuYang who was now in the ground, "Surprisingly many people remembered me; Mr, Mrs Jiang, Jiang NianNian, and LuPing, they all knew me at once upon seeing my face. It’s funny, that’s what I think at least. Shouldn’t they be like you? Clueless as you see my face?"

"What?"

AiLin continued, "You don’t remember any of your victim’s name or faces, you don’t bother to do it because it wasn’t necessary to you. So I thought everyone else would be like you. Those people from Jiang Family and those who had bullied me— no killed me— shouldn’t have remembered my face and name so well like you did. After all, I was merely an item for you all to vent your frustration— because it was fun and exciting. So they shouldn’t have remembered me so well that they would recognize me by a look or my the sound of my voice." She then chuckled, "But that’s great. It confirmed to me that those who had harmed me aren’t exactly living the easy life they imagined they would. Instead, they are having nightmares about me crawling back from hell to kill them as they had done to me."

OuYang angrily glared at her and spat, "What the fuck are you saying you insane bitch?! Are you delusional? Is this revenge for all the things that were done in High School? How long has it been since then? Why the fuck are you so obsessed with us?"

"But weren’t you people so obsessed with me in the first place?" She smiled softly though her eyes didn’t seem to be smiling in return, "You chased me no matter where I go, you hurt me no matter how bad my wounds have became? Never was a day when I was free from wounds and bruises to the point that the doctors who took care f me thought that my entire skin was originally covered in wounds since birth. That’s how bad it is but you guys didn’t care. You cling to me, any hour you can find amidst your busy schedule just to find me and hurt me. So obsessed when I had done nothing but protect myself."

"This is why people hated you," OuYang scoffed, "You were always looking down on others— deep down you think you’re far better than us don’t you? Think about it Jiang AiLin, maybe you are the reason why you were bullied on your own."

AiLin stared at him and she could find her own figure beside him.

At night she would turn into a small ball, curled up, and praying each day that the day would pass faster.

Looking down at others?

She had never done that. She was far too busy worrying whether she would get to eat the next day and if Mrs Jiang would stop whipping her when she came back home.

She didn’t have time to worry about anyone else but to hear that was the exact reason why they had bullied her.

"Haha...ahAHAHAHA," AiLin threw her head backward and let out a loud laughter while covering her eyes, "Yes," she hummed, "There’s no proper reason why you would do this to me. It’s just fun and it was right."

She stood up from the chair and cracked her knuckles, "So I’m doing this because it’s fun and it feels right. Hey OuYang, do you know what kind of pain you fear the most?" OuYang’s eyes shuddered when he looked up to find how darkness had pooled over AiLin’s face and only her eyes were bright burning with rage. "Yes," she sang out, "It’s fine if you don’t know about what you fear now. I’ll help you find out about it. If you don’t have any fear or trauma, that’s fine too. I can create it just like how you and your friends have done to me."

"BITCH!" OuYang cried out in rage. He couldn’t believe the girl he bullied back then would be one step above him now, "Dream on! You don’t know who is backing me up?! I contacted him before this— he’s gonna know about you—" his words were cut when AiLin poured sharp metals inside his mouth.

"Shh," AiLin then looked at Li ZiChen after she had stuffed the nails inside OuYang’s mouth. "Do you have staplers?"
