Chapter 81: Colder Anger

When the door closed behind her, AiLin made her way to the seat in front of OuYang. She could feel something grappling around her ankle as she sat down and she knew it was nothing but her own emotions. She hated that weakness of her heart and suppressed it with a smile. By the time she looked back at OuYang, she had gathered her confidence, her lips forming into a curve.

"I have heard about the charm of Sparrow nightclub," she looked up at the CCTV camera on the left corner of the room, "So is this room also safe from the eyes of law?"

"Don’t worry," OuYang assured, "This is one of the very few rooms that have CCTV cameras on for twenty four hours. It’s for my client’s safety as I understand how dangerous an agreement could become."

AiLin hummed as she straightened her back, "That means only the rooms in this corridor would have CCTV cameras that are functioning properly?"

"Correct," OuYang nodded his head and he continued, "I have always imagined that the person who controlled your company would be someone extremely clever. They knew what to do to take care of the troubles in district twenty one, something that my friend’s family had tried to do to no avail. I suspect that it must be a great man with a great deal of wisdom in him."

"You don’t believe that a woman could be the one behind the company?" AiLin’s lips were holding a smile but her eyes were so bleak and dark as if OuYang was staring back at the abyss. He felt a sense of dread and shook his head, fearing he had offended her.

"No, I mean, I was indeed surprised, but I was surprised in a good sense. In all my life, I have always wished to meet a woman who wouldn’t only be as gorgeous as you but also so brilliant. You are the woman of my dreams," OuYang stated, opening his palm he then poured her a glass of whisky and offered it to her hands.

AiLin felt her fingers wrapped around the cold glass and something crawl under her skin. She dismissed the thought and laughed back at OuYang’s words, "Sometimes what you dreamed of would be too much to bear when it comes to your hand."

"I’m sure I can properly take care of you," OuYang whispered, lowering his gaze to seduce her but before he could touch her hand, AiLin pointed his palm.

"What happened there?" AiLin hummed, "Seemed as if you have held a blade on your palm, deep enough to leave such a scar even though it seemed like an old wound."

OuYang frowned. He believed scar on his palm is his only flaw on his body. He didn’t remember particularly well on how it had happened but he knew what was it that caused the wound. Though it has been six years since he received this wound, it still annoyed him to this day and looking at the wound always invigorate him with wrath.

"A stupid incident," sighed OuYang. "During high school a mad woman chased me down and almost slit my neck wide open with a box cutter. Fuck," he cursed and took a large gulp of the whisky. "She believed that she could kill me but instead she cut my palms deep enough to almost sever my nerves."

"Thank god it wasn’t your neck," AiLin remarked. "It would be a pity if you had died back then. But what made that girl chased after you with such intention to kill?"

OuYang rubbed his ears listlessly, "What was it again? I don’t remember. She wanted me to delete some video which I held against her. But you know me, I wouldn’t let such a perfect opportunity to make money just because she cried or try to kill me. She was so foolish but well, I don’t remember what video I had of her, so it doesn’t matter anymore."

"Don’t you want to kill her when you see her again?" AiLin said as she jiggled the glass on her hand. "Yeah if I were you, I would want to kill her."

OuYang chuckled, "Kill? No, that’s so useless. I’d torture her. I’ll make her life a living nightmare and perhaps carve a deep wound on her face like she did to me."

"So you’d put the people who had harmed you to the same wound and even worse one?"

"Of course!" OuYang said with great laughter that he almost threw back his head. "I love that you understand me Miss AiLin. You’re so easy to talk with so I suppose we could get straight to the plan that I have made to offer you."

"Go on," AiLin shrugged her shoulders. "What is it that you’d like?"

"I heard that you can loan a lot of money," OuYang made his way closer to her, "So I was wondering if you could spare me a couple thousand dollars?"

"Depends," she sang, and leaned to the couch behind her, "What is it that you plan to do with that couple of thousands?" She knew that nothing was ever planned well by OuYang. If he needed money from her, it wasn’t because he wanted the money for himself but it was to find his own nasty plans that he made to generate more cash.

"Gambling," said OuYang to her with a hint of a wicked delight, "I was wondering if the children these days are interested in gambling. I house only those children from well known background, their parents have enough money to back them up and their nasty actions throughout their lives. We can make use of this by introducing them to gambling. It’s an online gambling method, I’ll let them win a couple of times and let them lose until they have no other way than to borrow money from you. You can then raise the loan little by little."

What a garbage.

These children didn’t know yet how money works, therefore they wouldn’t know when they had fallen to OuYang’s dirty little tricks and plans. This was what OuYang was targeting, the poor innocent children with enough money from their parents, which he could covet for himself. But in return that children wouldn’t only ruin their future but their family’s as well.

AiLin never really cared about other’s business but she was particularly unhappy seeing OuYang’s trick from the past hadn’t changed. He would use the wealthy children’s money to fund his own reckless desire, in the end destroying them mentally. It seemed that wound she carved deep into his palm wasn’t enough to open his eyes and deep down she’s happy about it. The fact that he continue to become a terrible person put her mind at ease when she crush him under her feet.

"If that’s the case then why would you need a couple of thousands form me?" AiLin tuned, "You seem to need the money for something else."

"Yes, I need money to start investing on better medicines."

"Medicines," AiLin narrowed her eyes, "Drugs?"

OuYang nodded his head very slowly, "You see, Miss AiLin, my plan isn’t only gambling but blackmail. Kids these days, they believed everything offer to them. They also believe that whatever they had done in this nightclub wouldn’t ever be found out by their parents and their illegal actions won’t be known by the authorities. This is what I had created— an illusion." He then hit the glass of his whisky down the table and then looked into her eyes with that devilish look in his gaze, "I want you to invest in me. I have many videos of the frequent kids who had came to this club who were using drugs and their parents being in the law enforcement’s department. I have more kids who are also from a worthy background who would have their parent’s and family’s name ruined as well if it were ever found out."

AiLin’s gaze settled on OuYang. For some reason his face was now a blur in her head. He was speaking, her mind was rational, but there was burn in the depth of her chest, a certain lividness that grew out like wildfire. Anger that was so great that her mind became so cold and rational. Her eyes moved to the glass of whisky that she knew she could smash to his head.

He had done it to her before.

He had done this in high school.

He never thought what he had done was wrong, even worse, he was going to repeat it again.

As AiLin’s anger took over her. Her calm demeanor betrayed the wrath that had erupted in her soul. She had grabbed the neck of the whisky bottle when suddenly someone knocked on the door, "Boss... we have met with some trouble."
