Chapter 82: Triggered Memories

*trigger/ tw: SA*

AiLin watched as the staff’s expression seemed troubled as he had rushed in to call for OuYang. On the other hand, his boss seemed increasingly irritated that he was cut off. OuYang then turned toward her, showing a smile, "Well then, Miss AiLin. It seems that I would have to go first to take care of a few problems. You can take this time to also think about my offer. I am incredibly benevolent to my partners so you would greatly benefit from working together with me, for certain."

She didn’t respond and pulled her hand that was about to wrap at the bottle of whisky as she silently watched OuYang who was walking away. She gritted her teeth once the door was closed and that she was left alone. OuYang. He had always been a piece of shit as she remembered. Now he had adorned a cleaner look but in the past he was more of a gangster with short hair and piercings. Yet while he had changed his appearance, he didn’t seem to change his action at all.

If the staff had came a bit later, she would have hit that piece of trash by the bottle across his head and who knows what would have happened, now she felt relieved that it didn’t happen though anger swirl in her like a living monster. Looking at the glass of whisky, she slowly pulled it to her lips, dawning the entire thing. She hoped this alcohol could heal some of the frustration that she was feeling and she could somehow gather a better composure of herself.

Once she had finished her drink, she stood up from her chair. Her eyes moved to the clock that looked at how it had almost been twenty minutes since OuYang had left. Seeing her hadn’t came back yet, she walked out of the room only to find that Canary wasn’t near the place. Worrying about her friend, she pulled her phone and tried calling her when suddenly she heard a loud smash and a couple of loud noise coming from the room neighboring to hers.

It immediately grabbed her attention, causing her to turn her body toward the room. Her hands then settled around the round door knob, her expression tightening as she heard someone yelling for help before their mouth being covered. Another group of people settling inside the room laughed and began to mock the yelling victim, "Look at that. Finally the haughty attitude he’s been showing had quieted down."

"How does the drugs feel like, XanXi?" Someone else chided, "It feels like your body is floating isn’t it?"

"Look at the camera.. enjoy yourself, isn’t she very pretty? Smile more..." the people were still talking, heinous taunt came from their mouth as they were forcing the young man inside the room to do something he didn’t want to. But AiLin felt as if the floor beneath her had tilted.

Just like a fever, she felt as if she was burning alive with a blazing madness. She recalled everything that had happened in the past. How during fall she had been locked inside the gym room by Jiang NianNian and her group. How Lu Ping had hired OuYang and his group of four friends to participate in Jiang NianNian’s hideous plan. What had happened?

She didn’t want to remember it. She didn’t want to.

But when a memory was triggered, stopping the train of thoughts would be impossible for the living body.

The memories flooded to her brain like rain. In that dusty room, she was pinned by four men. OuYang was on the other side holding the camera. Their faces were a blur in her head, something the doctors told her happened because the trauma was far too great that remembering their faces at the time had became such an intimidating experience for her brain.

Yet no matter how much she wished for it, she couldn’t erase those memories. It hurt her, this anger, this sadness, and this great... she just wanted all this feelings to be gone at once. She didn’t want to remember the sound of their laughter ringing on her ears, how they had ripped her clothing and taped everything— how in the end she had to beg OuYang to never release that video in person. But what had OuYang done? That man demanded a couple of hundred dollars from her which then turned into thousands.

Jiang Family never gave her such allowance she had to do many jobs to erase the said video but OuYang then introduced her to another type of "work" for his seniors and- and... she pulled the box cutter nearest to her with the intention of slitting his neck.

’Why don’t you smile to the camera, AiLin?’

’Look here. Aren’t you prettier when you cry?’

’It would definitely sell well, I can tell many people want to look at you now.’

"XanXi," the voice came again from the door, the one who had spoken was none other than AnHan. "You have always turned down women because you have your heart set on Vicky since childhood but once or twice you should have let loose like this. You can thank me later after you understand what I mean—"

The six people in the room heard the door of their room being turned opened, startling them altogether. XanXi himself wasn’t in the right mind after being forced to drink something that had made all the power in his body to disappear like sands between the gaps of his fingers. He could only hear the sound of someone trying to open the door.

At first it had moved slowly, a slow turn of the door knob which made everyone there to laugh and ignore it, thinking it was someone drunk who had came to their room, a normal drunk behavior.

But then they heard the door knob turning again, this time more furiously. It continued to shake until the door trembled, making AnHan to frown, "What the fuck is wrong with this shit?!" He then walked toward the door, opening it to give his mind straight to the one who had been vexing him and causing his fun to come to a brief stop.

His eyes went still when he found a gorgeous lady standing in front of him dressed in the bloody colored dress. Her smoky eyeshadow and long lashes at the end of her eyes masked the redness on the rim of her eyes as she glanced upward, her face nightmarish.
