Mrs Fox Heinous Revenge: Can You Love A Villainess like Me? -
Chapter 55: Paying Revenge
Chapter 55: Paying Revenge
With a crossed arms, AiLin merely watched as the older women left the place with their slippers and heels. They left hand in hand almost as if they were triplets which made AiLin recalled some displeasing memories about the aunts she once had from Jiang Family. They were one of the people who knew well how abused she was physically but never told anyone. In the end, weren’t they the one who spread the rumors of her pregnancy to one another and made her uncomfortable with their gazes that they shot to her every time she were around the family gathering?
Her thoughts were snapped away when she felt the same light tug on her elbow. Turning her head, she smiled upon seeing Vicky. The smile quickly faded into a guilty look as AiLin rubbed the back of her head, "I’m sorry. Did I make the situation worse for you? I know dealing with them is tough so I was trying my best to make them dislike me as much and forget that you were once the target. It will do you some help and make them off your skin for the future three months."
Vicky’s head shook at once. Her round eyes and her gorgeous face was elegant. She smelled like peppermints and although her figure was rather elegant which made her mature, her face was rather childish and demure, making those who look at her couldn’t help but notice her presence. She was dressed in a subdued brown blaze and skirt as if knowing that if she wears something she actually liked it would gather unwanted comments from her aunts.
"You saved me," Vicky’s tone carried a hint of admiration, "Thank you so much! I was going to cry there and I hate crying in front of them."
AiLin smiled at the very kind and adorable young girl. She was so innocent that her eyes were only showing sincere gratitude toward her, "Crying in front of those people will feel humiliating, I know your feelings and I didn’t want to be a bystander. Though you should be a bit angrier to me, I almost got you in trouble there."
"How could I? This is the first time someone wanted to help me," Vicky rounded her hand around her elbows, "But My aunts are quite... troublesome. They must be really angry now. I’m worried that they would do something to you."
"No worries there, I am confident that whatever they do to me won’t touch my skin," AiLin rubbed the girl’s head to brush off the worries on her head. "Next time, make certain you never go out with your aunts again. Stay around your parents when you see them. I hope your parents are good to you, right?" A frown appeared on her face when she thought Vicky might have parents similar to Mrs and Mr Jiang.
Noticing AiLin’s frown, she shook her head, "My father is a lovely man with such lovely actions, he take care of us and give us love. My mother is a bit strict but I’m certain she wouldn’t have let what happened slide. But they... I didn’t want to make more troubles to my mother. She has always been fighting alone in silence and if she had to endure another nasty comments from my aunts, I was worried that she would feel broken again," the girl muttered the last words with a hint of sorrow.
AiLin sighed. She could only tell that those aunts must have really hated her mother, perhaps holding a grudge thus venting it back to Vicky.
"You said you were going to buy a dress for an important event?" She decided that Vicky would be worrying about it later and the best she could do to help was by spelling away the trouble and veering her attention. "Let me help you choose for them. I have quite a few choices to make ever since I saw you!"
"Will you? Thank you so much, Sister!" Vicky at once warmed up to AiLin who had not only saved her but was so kind to her.
For some reason there was a sense of warmth when the two began to look around the shop for a dress. AiLin was particularly more detailed in choosing the dress today as she wanted Vicky to have the best dress for her event and shut the mouths of her said aunts. It took them a few hours to shop and at the same time, Vicky had chosen such a beautiful dress for AiLin who had planned to get a shop for her meeting with her birth family.
Both of them were so satisfied with their choices that they had went to get an ice cream until Vicky’s phone began to ring, "Wait a moment, sister," Vicky said before picking the call. She heard someone yelling from the other side which made her frown but Vicky responded to the man in the call with a calm manner and told the man to calm down. Once they ended the call, Vicky sighed, "It was my brother. He must be worried... I have two brothers and they must have heard what had happened."
"With your aunts?" AiLin puffed her cheeks as she finished the entire ice cream cone on her hand, "If you need me to tell them what had actually happen, I could."
"No, it’s fine sister!" Vicky said happily, "My brothers all trust me, we only have each other in the family so we are quite close as siblings."
Hearing that sent a little tickle to AiLin’s heart. She smiled at Vicky, sincerely whispering, "That’s great. Do you need to go now?"
"Yes," said Vicky with an upset tone, "They are waiting for me now."
"Then you should go, thank you for today Vicky," AiLin said as she hugged the girl by the shoulder, patting her back gently only to feel a tighter hug coming from Vicky’s arms.
"That should be my words! Let’s meet again soon. Call me whenever you are free," Vicky said to her gently, holding to her hands with a tight squeeze before she left with the shopping bags that were taken with bodyguards that had arrived to Vicky not long after the phone call.
AiLin waved back to Vicky’s goodbye only to realize that although they exchanged phone numbers they didn’t exchange names. Though AiLin wasn’t too worried as they could get to know each other next meeting again, she thought.
Meanwhile Vicky had entered the gray sports car that was drove by a young man whose sharp eyes were covered with the sunglasses. Upon seing his sister, he had opened the door at once and immediately. He smiled wide despite his tight attire that should have made him appear strict and stern, "Did you manage to shoo them off? Good job."
"No," Vicky said as she entered the car, "Someone helped me! She even bought a dress for tomorrow."
"Someone did?" Her brother was the type of person who easily feel suspicious to others and thus he narrowed his eyes upon this stranger’s kindness. "Did they ask anything in return?"
"No! I even offered to buy her a dress but she refused it. She was so kind and she even told Auntie Ruo off! I never saw Auntie Ruo’s face so flushed with embarrassment."
The young man frowned as he started his speeding race cars, "That’s worrisome. Our elder aunt is the type to hold a grudge. Do you know her name? If she helped you, the least we can do is stop our aunt from venting her anger to her."
"I- I forgot!" Vicky hit her forehead when she recalled what she had forgotten, "Oh no. Do you think she would be alright, brother? Although Aunt Ruo isn’t a part of our Hua Family anymore, she is quite close to grandmother."
The young man who understood the severity of the problem eased his sister’s worries with a pat on her head, "Don’t worry, I can ask my men to look into her. That way we can repay for her kindness to you." But then he pursed his lips, questioning how brave is the stranger who had helped his sister. She must be someone with quite a money as well. It shouldn’t be hard to find the stranger and stop whatever nasty things his aunt had planned.
After all, everyone in the Hua Family is quite frightening when it comes to paying back their revenge...
