Chapter 50: Baby’s Father

AiLin couldn’t wait to see for her own eyes how both Lu Ping and Jiang NianNian saddle themselves as they drunk their own medicine. It should be fun and exciting considering they were the type of people who wouldn’t mind harming others but would never guess that one day they would be at the end of the stick, the one who will be facing the karma of their own action.

"Then this is a good news," AiLin chuckled as she pressed her head on the sofa. She could still feel Canary’s eyes on her and turned to question her, "What is it? Here, let me help you dry up your hair."

She then stood up and grabbed the nearest clean towel. Pressing it on Canary’s head, she then rubbed her friend’s head gently and pat it dry. All through this, Canary was in deep silent. Truthfully that wasn’t all that Canary had heard from Lu Ping. Lu Ping had also told her that in the past she and Jiang NianNian had caused someone to be raped and violated. That happened during their high school... and that timing fit too perfectly to AiLin’s sufferings. This left a bitter taste on Canary’s lips as she really was about to smash a glass to Lu Ping’s head and stabbed her by the broken shards across her neck.

"Did you find some informations about Li ZiChen?" AiLin asked as she made sure Canary’s head was dry, not knowing the thought that had passed in her dearest friend’s head.

"Hm? A bit. He sent me an email last evening it contained everything about him including his birthdate and everything about him until he reached adulthood," Canary wasn’t being too specific but AiLin could hear the curt tone of annoyance. "That damned man told me in the email that I don’t have to look and hire people to find about his information since it will cost me a fortune and sent me everything about himself. How annoying! But of course I still look through his past with my men and found the informations he had sent me was exactly the same."

AiLin couldn’t help but chuckle as well. Li ZiChen was so crafty that he could tell she had asked Canary to look into him. Knowing that the action would be quite difficult considering his background and how well kept he is about his information, he had instead sent the information to Canary.

The two friends sat down and pouted their lips.

"Is it possible that he could see the future?" AiLin spoke with a sigh. "You know, I was walking on a bridge and he found me at once. It’s as if he has GPS on me. No, even worse. My apartment burnt down the moment I told him that I won’t mind staying in his house if and only if my apartment is faulty or burnt down by a fire."

Canary’s eyes widened, "Your apartment got burnt down?! Why is this the first time I heard of this!? And what? It burnt down after you told him that? Then it’s clear, he must be the one who had burnt it down. He must be a psychopath!"

"Well he told me he didn’t do it and I feel that he wasn’t lying about it," AiLin shook her head, "Anything odd about his childhood?"

"Surprisingly, he comes from a rather loving family. He has two younger brothers and one younger sister. Being the oldest, he seemed to be the strictest of all and the one with most achievement. His mother is a famous singer while his father was the retired Boss of Li Corporation, the one who had made it spread so widely and their wealth triple in a span of eight years."

AiLin pursed her lips, "Nothing that would connect him to me?"

"Nothing only one. Indeed he seemed to hate your grandmother. I learned that it’s because Eldery Madam Hua, had once kidnapped him. The kidnapping happen because Elderly Madam Hua wanted to obtain a peace of land that the Li Corporation had overbid them. Out of anger, she had hired men to kidnap the oldest son which is Li ZiChen," Canary detailed what had been told to her by Li ZiChen himself.

"Where did he go for his high school?" AiLin then asked as Canary responded in a clipped tone,

"Japan. A prestigious high school."

So they really haven’t met at all? AiLin found this rather surprisingly as it seemed Li ZiChen was far too familiar about her. The only time he could have known about her would be before she entered prison during her high school time. But Canary’s information had never failed them, this only meant that indeed they had never met.

Then what was that odd sensation of familiarity when she saw him?

Not finding any answer, AiLin find herself sighing, "I guess I’m wrong."

"By the way," Canary then spoke up, "You reminded me of something. Didn’t you tell me that you need me to look into someone else?"

Parting her lips, a brief look of uncomfortableness and shock settled on AiLin’s face. For the first time, her face was filled with a look of hesitation as well as lack of energy, "I need you to find someone. Just to find him. I only need to see him from far and make sure that he isn’t involved with my name anymore."

"Mhm, and who is it?" Canary who had took the towel aside walked to her computer to type for the information.

Closing her eyes, AiLin still couldn’t remember the boy’s face no matter how hard she tried. However she remembered his name well as she had called to it during her abortion over and over again according to the nurses who had felt bad for her.

That boy’s name. The father of her angel baby.

"Bai HaiZe," answered AiLin.

Hundred miles away from Canary’s office was Li ZiChen. He had sat down on his office that was mostly in black scheme. His fingers languidly tap on his desk as he read the clipped CVs that had been stacked on his table.

His eyes narrowed upon reading one of the applicant’s name:

’Bai HaiZe.’
