Chapter 259: A Funny Foly

The young girl walked into the Director’s office, receiving a loud praise that had gathered everyone in the entire building’s attention. Being young, gorgeous, and also very appreciated by their picky Director was a rare occasion that no one could stop from marveling and questioning. They each looked at each other, wondering who she was and gossiped when one of the designer who had a thick eyebag under her eyes lifted up her face to look at the girl from the window before slapping her hand down the table and jumping to stand.

"That- isn’t that Li GuangSha?!"

The neighboring designers turn to her, curious, "You know her? Someone wealthy’s daughter? This reminds me of the time when Miss Jiang entered the office. Director Yang had never looked so happy upon seeing someone’s face, it’s as if he’s looking at gold, hahahahaha."

"No you’re not wrong," the designed gulped a mouthful of coffee and sat back down, "She’s Crimson, don’t you know that name by now?"

"Wait crimson? That Crimson who won the 20xx Milan fashion competition held by Deor?" The other person shouted in a gasp, "No way! She only appears at times to create a design that inspires her before going to indefinite hiatus due to finishing her school right?"

"Wait by now she is supposed to finish her high school," answered someone else, "So that means- she’s going to be our coworker?!"

Someone else shouted, "No way! But she’s so young- I can’t imagine her being that Crimson who I admires!"

"Oh god to work with someone so legendary! I heard she is particularly talented in lace designs!"

The shoutings couldn’t be any louder and Jiang NianNian who was busy diving her nose deep in her designs had captured every single words exchange by her fellow coworker in silence. She raised her eyebrows, curiosity brimming in her eyes. She had seen Crimson’s designs before, seeing was an understatement as some of her work was inspired by Crimson. It had came to a point where her works mimics Crimson’s works so much that she needed people to look at it and make sure her elements still etched in all her works, so that she couldn’t be seen as a plagiarist.

She wondered to herself, questioning whether the person she was seeing is really "crimson" as not many have seen her face except PeiTu, the young woman who was drinking coffee as though inhaling it, as she was also a part of the entree for the 20xx competition in Milan.

This made her curious and once Li GuangSha stepped out of the office with the director, he had made sure to call everyone’s attention by clapping his hand. His face was wide with smile as he pointed toward Li GuangSha, happily introducing her aloud, "I suppose everyone here has heard a little of the news regardless how hard I’ve tried to prevent the rumors from leaking. But yes- I suppose I can’t hide this any longer. I hope everyone could welcome our newest addition to the designer chief! Li GuangSha, or better known as Miss Crimson, the number one winner of the 20xx Milan competition!"

Everyone began to applaud their hands while many others who wanted to be more forward extended their surprise and words, congratulating her of her achievements and extending their delight in being able to work with her. Meanwhile Jiang NianNian watched as li GuangSha answered to everyone’s words kindly, showing herself as a gentle and kind young girl who was still too naive.

Upon locking eyes with her, Li GuangSha’s eyes widened and she rushed, "Miss Jiang! Isn’t that your name?"

Jiang NianNian was stunned, her heels clicking as she stepped back worried and curious, she frowned but she smiled, "it is me, do you know me... Miss Li?"

"Of course I do~ I have been a big fan of yours!" Li GuangSha said as she shyly rubbed her nose, "Before I entered the competition in Milan, I saw a lot of your designs. I was poor but I managed to get ahold of seeing one of your gown in real life. Particularly that famous Midnight dance gown, it’s such a lovely shade with beautiful embroidery. The idea of letting it move and flow as graceful as a black swan while keeping the fragile fabric to highlight the black swan’s sentimental emotions was simply far too delightful! I cannot express how happy I was to see that majestic gown that had inspired me to start designing myself."

That dress... Jiang NianNian felt a little stab at her forehead as that dress was one of the dress she had stole from her late coworker who had ended up in killing himself. She didn’t came with the idea by herself, in fact, she had made that designer to design it before using the design under her name. Not many knew what had happened and for Li GuangSha to choose that dress out of all the dresses she had created made her feel a little annoyed. She still smiled, pushing down the stir of emotions in her heart and answering politely.

"I can’t believe that someone as talented as you had looked up to me. Thank you, Miss Li. But your surname... are you related to the Li Family?"

Li GuangSha blinked, "Which Li family Miss Jiang? Ah sorry, I think you have the wrong family. I’m not as rich as you think, haha, while the Li family that’s behind the hospital in the Central district wouldn’t know much about me. My mother is a poor orphan... and my late father... he passed away."

"Oh," Jiang NianNian felt eyes on her and pretended her kindness, gently patting her on the shoulders, "I didn’t know that Miss Li, I’m utterly sorry for bringing the past."

"Thank you for apologizing," answered Li GuangSha that made Jiang NianNian’s eyebrows to widen. She had really apologized but it wasn’t as if she had made a mistake. Knowing this, Li GuangSha shouldn’t have accepted her apology which in turn make her to look as though she had mocked her being poor on purpose.

Her image had gotten even more terrible each passing day and because of this, it had caused many eyes that lay on her to scrutinize her even further, frowning and gossiping. Seeing their hands on their phone made Jiang NianNian to wish she could just steal the phone and take it away, stomping it under her heels to teach them a lesson on ever gossiping about her again on the message board.

But she couldn’t do it, not when her family was in shambles and now everyone’s eyes on her, waiting to dig her further into the grave if she ever shows the slightest mistake.

She smiled, "Well I hope you can settle well, Miss Li," she was already suspicious of Li GuangSha considering her name was close to the head ache and nightmare source, AiLin’s lover, Li ZiChen. She didn’t want to get close to Li GuangSha under any circumstances, and thought about leaving as soon as possible when suddenly Director Yang stepped up, "Wait where are you going Miss Jiang? Come over here, you’re going to be training Miss Li and helping her as she settles in her new work environment!"

’What?"

Director Yang saw her annoyance and being her distant uncle, Director Yang inched toward her and put his arms around her shoulders, bringing her close as he lowered his voice, "Don’t you know that she is your perfect chance?"

Jiang NianNian frowned, "To look good and caring? No thank you, uncle Yang, I have had enough."

"No dummy!" Uncle Yang sighed as he pushed her away from the crowd of onlookers, "Crimson, I mean, Li GuangSha is currently in desperate need of money. She’s poor but her mother is deadly ill. She tries to sell her designs but most of them were easily stolen by the wealthy designers. Basically she works as a ghost designer to fund for her mother’s medical fee. Now, this is your chance to put her under your thumb as I have paid her a lot sum of money so she could pass her designs to you."

"How do you know that she’s trustworthy?" Jiang NianNian glanced at li GuangSha and muttered, "Even her name sounds like she comes from that damned Li Family. Knowing how they’re trying to get me, I don’t want to keep untrustworthy pawns."

"Hah." Director Yang who had been smiling dropped his smile and frowned while looking at her, "Do you think we have a choice? I have looked into her past and nothing was out of place, besides, being choosy and picky is good but you have a fashion competition around the corner, you don’t have a choice on who you need to take designs from. Besides, since the last designer you stole had died, we have no one who could bring your name back to the trend and at this point you’re going to surround yourself in further controversy."

"But uncle," she sighed as uncle Yang didn’t say it wrongly. It’s because he knew that her talent was lacking and had helped her hide all traces of her past plagiarism action that he had brought her a perfect prey. Her uncle at by no means was dumb, he even managed to delete all trace of the suicide that she had caused, and he knew what he was doing but she still couldn’t be at peace after knowing that Li guangsha’s name was also "Li". Seeing how AiLin had used her own friend against her, she was worried this was someone sent by AiLin again.

"No. I’ll think about this and look into her pasts again."

Uncle Yang sighed, "Fine do what you want but keep her close. She always teach on designing too so maybe she could help you being inspired to design something. That won’t count as plagiarism so keep her close to you, I’m sure she’ll be beneficial."
