Chapter 258: Heal A Scar

The scene had been filmed, AiLin had walked away from the scene, rubbing towel across her cheeks as she felt sweaty from all the walking that she had to do for this scene. While she was walking toward her seat, she had seen InRan who seemed to be lingering around the place, looking at her empty seat with her mouth tightly pursed up.

AiLin who saw this raised her eyebrow but YanLan who had walked beside her immediately walked over and spoke on her behalf, "Is there anything you need here Miss InRan?"

A little surprised, InRan looked at YanLan with fear on her eyes until she pursed her lips and responded with hesitation, "Can we talk... alone AiLin?"

AiLin who heard this hummed, "So you can trick me again?"

"No! Back then.. I didn’t have a choice," InRan said as she looked at FangMin who had frowned while looking at her from afar as she hadn’t asked for permission before coming to talk with AiLin. It’s clear that she had been here without FangMin’s permission and could get herself in trouble but

So what?

AiLin didn’t see a point to feel pity for InRan. She had always been someone who feared people more powerful than her, knowing well that she could be an easy target of bullying. Because of that, she would use scapegoat. Anyone. It didn’t matter who it was whether that person was once her close friend or an innocent person who hadn’t done anything that warrant such horrible bullying, as long as it wasn’t her, it didn’t matter.

Such cowardly behavior that InRan had shown was nothing for AiLin to pity. There were many other ways to survive high school or workplace rather than pushing innocent people into harm or helping the bullies.

What InRan had done was no less than a fruit of her own action.

"I don’t care," AiLin answered, tone sharp, her eyes then narrowing as she put a slight smile, "Think about it InRan, it was you who decided to do what you have done. It’s not that you had no choice, you just didn’t want the choice to put you at risk. Then why should I forgive you? Step aside."

InRan panicked as she saw AiLin who had brushed her away. She clenched her fists, wanting to say things so she could be forgiven but what could she say anymore?

AiLin was quiet and gave her the cold shoulder until she eventually left the place, coming back to FangMin who had openly scolded her. Seeing this, all the other staffs began to gossip amongst each other.

"It’s FangMin again..."

"I know right? We all have heard about her bad habit in stealing married men or those in a stable relationship but I didn’t expect her to be such a bully either," the other staff commented. "Did you see what had happened few days ago?"

"Of course! It’s the accident that caused Miss AiLin to be hysteric right? I can’t blame her. With so many cameras and those side actors and actors who had held her down, wanting to actually rip her clothes apart. It must have been scary. Thankfully CEO Li was there to stop everything."

"Exactly! But think about it. The person who had held Miss AiLin down was Miss FangMin. It seems that she was told the script to hold Miss AiLin down but seeing how the side actors had ripped her clothes for real, shouldn’t she had stopped them or something?"

"Right? It’s as if she wanted to see it happening, you know, to see Miss AiLin’s image ruined right during the filming."

"She’s such a bad person. Miss AiLin is so nice to everyone, I don’t know why Miss FangMin hates her."

"Maybe out of jealousy."

AiLin who heard this slowly relaxed her back on the seat, smiling as she opened her phone. It’s been four days since her accident and while in the first two days the medias were still trying to paint her as a horrible actress, everyone was quickly shut when they had seen her audition tape that had been spread all over the news. She didn’t have to ask who had done this as the person who would save her image no matter what could be no other people but Li ZiChen.

She smiled seeing the comments and the news that had completely done a 180 on their view toward her, saying that her hysteria was completely valid and how even the staffs had always loved her presence, noting that she had been a down to earth person who is always professional in her work.

While her fame rose again, the Jiang Family was quite the opposite.

It seems on the day of her leaving the hospital, Mr Jiang was instead brought to the hospital for a freak accident.

He was still alive, unfortunately, but the man was currently in a state of coma as he hadn’t woken up for days. From the news it seems that Mr Jiang who was busy trying to find a way to pay all his debts and return what he owed when he became dizzy and had fallen to a table, accidentally hitting his head and a piece of vase shard had punctured his neck.

AiLin saw the image of Jiang NianNian weeping, claiming that it was all the hoax and the false rumors that had caused her father’s health to worsen which easily bought some people’s sympathy, thinking that for the past few days all the rumors were targeting the family who could be innocent.

Sighing, AiLin closed her phone. She had to applaud Jiang NianNian for always appearing innocent. To her fans and to the people close to her, she had always made sure that she would be seen as innocent and adorable when in truth those she had bullied would always be accused of heinous or the real bully.

There was many people who she had dug up who had been bullied by Jiang NianNian as well. Some were minor, some was simply too vile.

The worse incident included the designer who once worked with Jiang NianNian. The designer had killed himself after losing all his works and from all the stress of bullying that had caused his anxiety disorder to worsen.

Although this news came from Li ZiChen, making the chances of it being merely a rumor less than ten percent, very few people were willing to step forward and confirm it.

She suspected that it wasn’t only because they feared Jiang NianNian’s authority but in some way or form, they had looked away from this bullying and allowed it to happen. They were afraid that if the truth was discovered, they would be forced to take accountability as well.

To make things worse, the designer wasn’t particularly close to his family, causing them to be unaware of the things he had gone through which made the evidence even less.

AiLin wasn’t worried though. There were many people who began to feel pity for Jiang NianNian but that doesn’t mean that everyone had the same thought. Some had brought up her pasts and all the details of her terrible behavior to her peers and people she had met. They argued her complete innocent and she wasn’t worried as Li ZiChen had told her how he had sent a little present for Jiang NianNian in her designing company.

The same afternoon, Jiang NianNian who had gotten back to work was in a sour mood. She couldn’t come up with any design for her clothing when soon there would be a competition held in the heart of Beijing.

With all the bed press on her, at first she thought she wouldn’t be invited yet oddly, she had won a chance. She didn’t dawdle and worried about the reason why she was still invited despite the bad rumors circulating around her. It didn’t matter. What matter was that she had to win.

Only by winning could she make all those bad rumors about her to disappear. Only by winning can people forget what had happened.

Right as she entered her office, everyone’s eyes were on her and for a moment those gazes felt sharper than arrows. It stopped and dropped as the next second someone had walked toward her, offering a small frown between her eyebrows, "Miss Jiang, how is your father?"

"It must have been exhausting Miss Jiang, please do tell us if you ever come to need any help."

Jiang NianNian smiled, "My Father should get better soon, well then, I will go and continue my work. I would feel bad for always leaving my work to my assistants."

"Of course, Of course!" Her two coworkers cheered and once she had left they looked at each other before bursting into a spiteful laugh, "Knew it, she hadn’t even washed her hair. She’s in such a big mess now."

"It’s funny how she usually demean others for looking bad when they had been too busy working and taking care of their family. Finally she could understand a thing or two after becoming a commoner like us."

"Hahaha, I can’t wait to see her coming to work without make up. Oh do you think she would ever win the competition?"

"No way," the other coworker answered with a chuckle, "She won last time because she stole you know who’s design, she can’t win again considering he’s dead now-"

"Excuse me," a lovely voice cut through and turning behind the two coworker who had flinched from the startle found a young girl with a beautiful face, a lovely smile and her hair tied to two pigtails. "I am the new designer Li GuangSha. Would you mind showing me the way to the Director’s office, pretty sisters?"
