Mrs Fox Heinous Revenge: Can You Love A Villainess like Me? -
Chapter 154: Familiar Dance
Chapter 154: Familiar Dance
Watching Li JingYi who was quick to get back on his feet made AiLin to smile. She doesn’t understand how he could so quickly regain his positivity. Perhaps because he came from such a loving family that he felt secure despite anything that happened to him? Although she had made peace with her own circumstances, she couldn’t help but imagine the better version of herself if she hadn’t been living under the tight grip of Mrs Jiang.
Sighing softly, AiLin then heard Mu Ke who had spoke beside her, "I couldn’t see what happened, but I heard about it. Are you certain you’re alright, Miss AiLin?"
AiLin nodded to the man and remembering he couldn’t see, she worded her feelings, "I’m alright. I don’t think she was in any right mind to do something worse than that either. By the way, Mu Ke. Do you remember ever going to ZhouWang High school?"
"Yes! That is my high school," answered Mu Ke. "Did you come from that high school as well, Miss AiLin?"
AiLin understood why Mu Ke didn’t remember about her now. Though her voice was the same, it had gotten deeper due to her age. Her brightness in the past was also hard to find in her future self now. Though her name was still AiLin, Mu Ke never knew her as AiLin. People who bullied her in high school called her either "Sneaky Fox" or "Ugly fox". She doubted that he knew her name and only protected the poor fox that was surrounded by the angry villagers who wanted to kill her.
"I... no," she shook her head, realizing that there was nothing good in bringing about her past self to Mu Ke and making him pity her. "I think I have to go now, Mister Mu Ke. I hope we can see each other again soon."
"Of course! Anytime, if you’d like to meet me, this is my phone number," he pulled out his name card, gently holding her hand to make sure she had accepted the name card.
AiLin bid her goodbye to the ground floor of JS Entertainment and made her way out toward the car accompanied by YanLan who seemed to be whistling while typing his phone. She raised her eyebrows and asked, "Are you texting Zi Chen?"
"How did you— I mean, yeah but don’t worry I’m not teasing him to drink vinegar or something."
AiLin raised her left eyebrow high to her forehead, "I didn’t say that you were teasing him."
"Oh right, you didn’t! Anyway, do you know the novelist Mu Ke earlier? You seem to know him well," YanLan was good at veering the conversation. He was also quite good at being hospitable as he had opened the door for her to enter in without saying a word. Then he entered the car at the front and continue to wait for her answer.
"Old friends," she answered. "Are we going to meet the psychiatrist now?"
"Yes! She’s a very famous psychiatrist but..." YanLan drawled, "I think it’s only right for me to explain this to you first as Zi Chen told me to do as well. Although the psychiatrist we are going to meet now is related to Mei Hua, she is very professional and wouldn’t mix personal feelings with her works. Zi Chen tried to find other psychiatrist but she’s known to be the best in her field even abroad so he wanted to show you to her first and if you find it uncomfortable we can find a new psychiatrist that would suit you."
AiLin tapped her elbow in silence. Related to Mei Hua?
"What kind of relation?"
"Mei Hua’s mother..." answered YanLan with an awkward smile and AiLin felt a deep uncomfortableness in the pit of her stomach to hear the girl’s name being mentioned twice as if she was going to appear today when her name was brought up again for the third time.
Regardless of her initial disagreement, AiLin eventually arrived in the hospital. She knew that she had all the power in her to dismiss the psychiatrist if she ever feel uncomfortable but in the end she continued the arranged appointment as she was also curious of the number one psychiatrist who is also Mei Hua’s mother. Right when they arrived at the floor, AiLin was greeted with the minty fragrance that filled the room. It was minty but also sweet like lavenders, giving her a sense of peacefulness.
She knew fragrance as she had learned about it before, knowing well that the person who had taken care of the fragrance in the floor must have wanted to make all the patients to feel at ease upon entering the floor due to the nervousness they would instantly feel when they stepped out of the elevator.
A nurse walked out toward them, holding a wooden clipboard on her hand. She immediately greeted her and YanLan with a welcoming smile, stepping aside slightly as she bowed her head forward, "Welcome, Miss AiLin, we have been waiting for you. The room to Dr. Mei is on the far left side on the end of the hallway. Would you like to drink coffee or tea?"
"I would rather have some water," AiLin answered and the nurse bowed her head to accept her words. It seemed that the nurses also understood that most of the guests in the floor came from a wealthy background seeing how they were so organized and polite.
YanLan looked around and then whispered to her, "I thought the floor would look different... you know? Like it would be a bit gloomy?"
"But it feels so peaceful here," AiLin said as her heart beat really eased down as she entered the floor.
"Right? My heart is all woozy too," tapped YanLan on his chest. He then pointed out, "This must be the room?"
AiLin looked at the office door that was made up of wood with an intricate decoration that appeared like small fairies carved outside the door. It was actually cute and adorable, so much so that it brought a smile on AiLin’s lips upon seeing it. She then turned to YanLan, "Will you be waiting for me?"
"Of course!"
"But it would take time," said AiLin in a drawl, feeling bad as he seems to be an active person and would find it hard to sit down for a couple of hours doing nothing. "You should go out and have fun then come back when the appointment is done."
"No, no, I’m fine. You know AiLin?" Nudged YanLan. "Li ZiChen don’t trust many people around him. I’m glad to tell you that despite his distrusting nature, he believe that I’m one of the very few people he could trust me with. So you would imagine that he only trust me with things as important as his life. You must have felt the bodyguards that would always follow you, that is his way to protect your safety. And seeing that he even asked me to accompany me, me who he would only ask whenever he needed to protect something more important than his pwn life, it would mean that he wish for me to stay by your side to make sure at any cost that you’re safe."
AiLin’s heart felt a skip. She pursed her lips, feeling a sudden guilt when thinking about Li Zi Chen as last night she had just thought about finding a better woman for him to shift his love into.
Seeing her expression, YanLan seemed to misunderstood it and said, "Don’t feel burdened by Zi Chen’s kindness. Even if he does give all his life for you, he would never want to force you into doing the same for him. Anyway!" He clapped his hands to take her attention away, "You should give your best in today’s appointment. Maybe when you walk out of this room, the person sitting here wouldn’t be me but someone else that would make your heart bloom with happiness."
AiLin blinked and looked at YanLan, an image of Li ZiChen sitting on the chair while waiting for her suddenly entered her heart, making her feel a sudden burst of delight.
She chuckled, "I guess I have no choice other than giving my best right?"
"Mhm, good luck," said YanLan, her newfound friend, as she stepped into the room, finding a beautiful older woman who was looking at her computer earlier on. Upon seeing her, Dr. Mei lifted her face upward and showed her a kind smile.
"Miss AiLin, am I with the right person?"
"Good afternoon, yes, I’m AiLin," she answered awkwardly as the doctor stood up from her chair and showed her a comfortable chair that was long enough for her legs to be saddled comfortable like a bed with a mixture of a chair. As AiLin shifted to sit on it, she was greeted with the extremely comfortable pillowing that made her back feel in so much comfort that her muscles felt all loose and relaxed.
"I have heard a lot about you from Mr. Li," the doctor spoke kindly, "He was really looking forward to having you here to sit and talk with me. I know this must be very uncomfortable at first but seeing that you have gone to a few sessions with other psychiatrist before, I will assume that this isn’t your first time."
