Mrs Fox Heinous Revenge: Can You Love A Villainess like Me? -
Chapter 153: Dropped Cans
Chapter 153: Dropped Cans
JingYi was really a good and kind child, thought AiLin. He feared she had been wounded first before anything and she was glad to see that he was now happier than before. However the next problem was.. Mei Hua. She frowned as she looked again at the phone history messages. How Mei Hua had been pretending to be Li JingYi was indescribably frightening. After a while, she pulled her phone and called to Li ZiChen. It took a moment for her phone to be connected right to him. She could hear from the background the sound of car, maybe he was driving, she thought to herself, not thinking much of it.
"Are you free to talk now, Zi Chen?"
"Always," he answered softly, "Any problem in the company? Anyone you don’t feel comfortable with."
"Oh come on, are you going to fire your poor subordinates because I tell you that they are making me uncomfortable?"
"Why else would I become a CEO if not for this?" He joked but she shushed him. After a while, she looked at her watch and then answered him, "I found the reason for the stalkings. The stalker seems to already be in a bad mental space but it seems to have gotten worse because of Mei Hua."
"Again that name," he sounded irked on the other line, clearly exhausted by Mei Hua’s grasp on his family. He never cared about her existence as she had never been a burden to him but it seems that those were at the front and Mei Hua was simply too good to be caught.
"But I don’t understand why she would do this to JingYi. From what I could gather, she doesn’t need money either since she comes from a rather wealthy family. She might have done this to JingYi out of frustration and a desire for revenge but even then this doesn’t make sense."
Because if she wanted revenge, she would have done it after Li ZiChen cut her off. But the fact was these messages were sent to the stalker long even before Li ZiChen had cut her off coldly. Meaning she had done this for some other reason but what?
"Her own vanity," said Li ZiChen. "She seems to like being able to control others and she must have done what she did because she gets off from seeing women who pine after us siblings but can’t have them, unlike her who she thought was much ’closer’ than the other women around her."
"So simply because of her own greediness."
"Yes," Li ZiChen answered. "Are you hurt? You said you apprehended the stalker so I hope you didn’t use yourself as a collateral damage, did you?"
HOW DID HE KNOW?
She flipped her head upward, curious if he was watching from somewhere but he had told her that he wouldn’t be able to be anywhere near her because he’s busy in the next town did he? So?? How??
"N- NO!" She gulped down her own stutter. "Of course not, are you listening to yourself? I won’t get hurt of course. There’s YanLan here too, and Tsuki. He’s a great subordinate. Is he Japanese?" She blabbed, hoping anything could fly that would steal his attention and it did as he answered, willingly playing dumb to her tune.
"Yes, he’s my mother’s step brother’s adopted niece. So you could say that they’re a part of our family."
"Oh," she sang and turned to look at Tsuki. A tall japanese man who seemed to be a mix of Chinese blood. A cocky smile similar to his twin brother whom she had also seen in OuYang’s night club. "I want to know more about your gang. Well of course, if you don’t mind telling me about it. I know it could be a sensitive topic."
"Why would it be?" He asked, chuckling, "No worries. It’s nothing that I’m hiding from you. That gang wasn’t made because I want a control to the business world. It’s simply a way for me to pave path so bad people couldn’t take control and monopolize a market street. It started small, I was only protecting them but along the line that became bigger and now they are what they are."
"There were rumors about your gang, you know," she whispered. "Like how you cut people like sashimi!"
"That definitely doesn’t happen," he answered.
"So you didn’t kill anyone?" She asked and quietness answered her. She chuckled and answered him, "But they also said you monopolize market."
"I don’t, however, sometimes one needs to fill the position of a King to these ruthless people so I can make sure no more innocent lives would be involved."
"So you’re saying that before anyone dangerous takes your place, you will take it," she asked and he hummed in affirmation. "Well I trust you. You’re not greedy after all."
"True, I am not," answered Li ZiChen as he drove. "I’m a very patient man."
She chuckled at how humble he was trying to make himself sound. He then asked her, "Did you talked to Mu Ke about HangZhou?"
"I.. don’t want to anymore," she answered him, "Well, I can tell he’s making a new life free from his old family’s grasp as they have abandoned him and I understand him but he’s a good man and a good person. It feels unsatisfying to see him suffer only the burnt."
"So what have you planned?" Li ZiChen asked, enjoying their small talk.
"How much money do you think Hang Family have?" She asked as she pressed her phone closer to her ears, "Do you know that I have count the amount of money that those people should have paid back to me? So far, my targets have paid what they owe me, including what they have cost to my emotional damage. OuYang and Lu Ping along with her family. Now Hangzhou is left and I don’t think they’ll have enough to pay me back."
She paused, humming as she saw Mu Ke who was still struggling to understand the situation about the stalker. She answered Li ZiChen happily, "But after thinking about it again, I don’t think I want their money. If those money can be used to people who need it more, wouldn’t it be better?"
"Of course."
"So is our next target HangZhou?" He asked her.
She smiled while rubbing her back, "The wound he caused to my back, it’s time for him to pay for it."
"I’ll be more glad than ever if you ask me."
"Then let’s do it together," AiLin grinned. "Anyway aren’t you busy? I’ll see you soon."
"Mhm see you soon," said Li ZiChen. Once the phone call ended, his smile faded slowly. He then continued to another call directed to a woman named Dr. Mei. The phone call connected and Li ZiChen started, "Dr. Mei it’s been a while."
"Young master Zi Chen," said Dr Mei in a familiar tone, "Of course, what can I help you with? If it is about the appointment, I can assure you that they are all been made free so I can wait for miss AiLin’s arrival."
"No," answered Li ZiChen. "It’s about your daughter."
Dr Mei was quiet as she could be heard sighing, "Did she try to come to you or JingYi again? I have warned her strictly. I’m so sorry, I think I should be keeping a closer eye on her."
"No, I hope that was all she did, but it’s been found out that she was the one who had caused JingYi to be put in harm’s way. I’m sure you know how protective I am to my brother ever since a young age, Dr. Mei." Li ZiChen continued the call, explaining on what Mei Hua had done and though he hadn’t given her any evidence, Dr. Mei didn’t once doubted him and that was because she knew Li ZiChen wasn’t someone who would lie and come up with a fake evidence, he was willing to show the evidence and he was also willing to hear Dr. Mei’s side of the story, telling her that if this wasn’t Mei Hua but someone else pretending to be her, he would be more than glad by helping to clear her name.
But the truth is, no one had pretended to be Mei Hua and this was all things she had done by herself. So she had to pay for her own mistakes.
Dr. Mei was grim after the call. She answered him with extreme apologies, almost sounding like she would kneel in her apologies. "It’s a shame for me to ask you not to report my daughter to the police, young master."
"No, I understand you, Dr. Mei. You also understand that by usual methods, I would have not only put your daughter behind bars but make sure that she would be punished severely for the harms she almost caused to my dear family members. However I have decided not to do such things because I respect you and I wish you could take care of AiLin’s problems. It would be a big problem for me to lose your talents because of your daughter. You know what I’m saying right?" Li ZiChen then added his faint threat, "So I wish that you would take care of this problem once and for all. Because if this happens again, violence won’t be the end of it."
