Chapter 129: Loose Kidnappers
Chapter 129: Loose Kidnappers
The old man had worn a clothing that seemed to be loose fitting on him. It was clear that he wasn’t one of those wealthy guests in the party hall, hell, he appeared straight from the street, a homeless man who Li ZiChen had never seen before. The clear giveaway of the crying man’s identity being a hired homeless man came from the fact that his hands were covered in grim, he didn’t even had time to take a bath before he was hired, only given the expensive looking clothing to barely cover the fact someone had hired him to steal Li ZiChen’s attention.
Seeing the commotion two young men ran up toward Li ZiChen. Throughout the party, both Tsuki and Taiyo, the twins who had worked under Li ZiChen since childhood had been lingering around the room. Tsuki had ran forward, disappearing into the crowd as he followed AiLin’s location as she was swept away by the crowd, meanwhile Li ZiChen threw the homeless man toward Taiyo, ordering with an annoyed tone, "Keep him somewhere for interrogation."
"At once," the calm Taiyo replied, taking away the homeless man by the collar and pulled him away. After taking in Li ZiChen’s furious face, the subordinate then warned calmly, "I think it would be dangerous if you pull out your gun now."
"I know," Li ZiChen answered, though his tone impatient, "I won’t kill anyone yet."
Taiyo said nothing more and bowed his head as he watched Li ZiChen who had followed Tsuki’s trace as the latter was already instructed to always keep his gaze on AiLin in case such things happens.
Meanwhile, AiLin who was brought away by crowds felt many people jabbing her waist, some women pushing her by their backs, and by the time she could gather a right footing on her own, she had landed far from the entrance, arriving at the first floor of the hotel room.
She sighed, wondering how this could happen. Though she was on the thinner side, she didn’t expect that her body would easily be pushed around. She could have get a right footing earlier but when she saw a child squeezed between the adults, she prioritized bringing the child into a safer space without the angry mobs pushing around only to be swept away into her current position.
AiLin didn’t think much. While rubbing the side of her waist that was jabbed earlier, she looked to find the entrance again when she felt from her left side how the door to a room had been flung open. She turned around in startle as an arm had pulled her into the room. Her hand immediately raised up, holding to the person’s neck while the man who had catch her saw this and immediately slammed her body to the wall.
A gasp ran from her mouth as she felt a sharp object that had pierced her back.
She let out a sharp groan, tears flinging down her eyes as she felt the wetness of blood dripping from her back.
Her head also bumped to the wall harshly and it took her a moment to stabilize her spinning head. By the time she had looked up, she found a man who was towering her. Another two men were on the corner, speaking in a murmur.
"This is her..?"
"I saw her in OuYang’s night club. It was her! I’m sure!"
That familiar voice came from a woman, and she reckon the voice to belong from one of the women who she had beaten up while saving the young man who was being assaulted.
"So you were the one responsible for OuYang’s nightclub to shut down?"
She lifted her eyes to look at the man who had asked the question while gasping for breath as what had pierced her back turned out to be a sharp nail.
Clutching to her back, her chin then was pulled by the man who had asked her the question, "You did well by hiding behind Li ZiChen but do you really think that you will always be in safe hands as long as you stand near him?"
She narrowed her eyes, finding the man in front of him was bigger than her so much in size. His head was bald and a scar crossed his left eye. She didn’t think she ever saw this man before, finding him unfamiliar. But hearing him speaking about OuYang meant that he was somehow connected to OuYang and the other men who had assaulted her back in high school.
She gritted her chin, tightening her jaw so her pain wasn’t obvious.
"Seeing you pulling me away from Li ZiChen so desperately means that you are scared of him," she answered and the man seemed to be angered by the word as he pulled her hair, yanking it to drag her head.
AiLin shut her eyes, accepting the pain as it was nothing compared to the pain of her childhood abuses.
"Keep up with that attitude and you will pay the price, woman. You hail from a rich family, right? That must be why you think that everything can be solved with money but let this be a good lesson to you spoiled bitch," the man bent his knees and slapped her cheeks lightly, "I can kill you whenever I want. So be careful before trying to mess with my people anymore, that’s what my Boss wants you to know."
"Boss?" AiLin looked up at the man who was glaring at her in warning, "I don’t know your boss."
"And you should never find out. If you try to poke around and search for who my boss is, you’ll definitely regret it," he warned while clenching his finger to her neck. "My Boss wants me to warn you so that you’ll never mess around again with his people or his businesses. If you ever repeat what you have done to OuYang to another one of his precious members, don’t blame us for hurting you."
"So confident," AiLin retorted with a scoff, "Do you really think you can hurt me?"
"Of course," the man answered, "Like now. I can always take you away from Li ZiChen any time I want and kill you. He might be someone strong and powerful but you should keep in your mind that my Boss is far more powerful than that mere businessman."
Seeing that this man call Li ZiChen as a "businessman" but not the man who had took control of the mafia group as the rumors entailed meant that he wasn’t aware of the double life that Li ZiChen seems to lead.
"You’re wrong for that," AiLin answered as she looked up with a wide smile. She sneered at the foolish baldie, answering with a light chuckle as she sang, "You couldn’t have kidnapped me or take me away from Li ZiChen’s side anytime you want. I was the one who allowed you to take me away from his side. Do you think I would be so foolish as to let someone kidnap me so easily?"
Before the bald man could direct his anger by raising his hand and slapping her cheeks, a sound of a bell rang through their room, alerting everyone inside the room who immediately snapped their eyes toward the door.
AiLin was the first to look toward the door and she chuckled, "See? They’re here for me already."
The bald man angrily looked at his men and gave them a signal by tipping his chin. At once, they all pulled out their weapons, some holding a sharp kitchen knife while others were also holding to a gun.
She wondered who could be so reckless as to send these men after her. Is it really recklessness? Or is this their way to show how confident they are that they could kill her without the mess ever getting to their hands?
Whoever these men’s boss are, this one is especially more dangerous than OuYang himself.
The bald man made his way toward the door, his eye staring at the peephole, as he narrowed his gaze when he found a bellboy standing while holding a tray. "Seems like it’s your unlucky day, Miss. Look, it’s only a room service. How unfortunate for you."
AiLin didn’t respond to him, only looking at the door while pursing her lips. Seeing her expression, the bald man laughed, thinking she had finally realized how much danger she was in and was going to relent.
He then yelled at the door, "We don’t need room service. We didn’t order one."
"You didn’t? But this was clearly said for room 1090."
"Go away," the bald man yelled and threatened, "Or we will make a complain to the front door for interrupting our business."
The bellboy immediately disappeared from the door, frantic while being scared as the bald man’s tone was both frightening and threatening without needing to see his scary face.
"Now, now, I need to hear you promising me that you will drop your claws from OuYang and tell Li ZiChen to retract all his claims."
AiLin was still calm even after finding out the earlier knock wasn’t from the people who were going to safe her. Though the bald man was confident in harming her, she knew he couldn’t go as far as to kill her.
But she wanted to test how far this "boss" of them had ordered the bald man to do to scare her.
She answered with a smirk, "What if I say no?"
the bald man’s entertained voice had died down into once filled with irk, "Then you will have to learn it the hard way," he snapped his finger for his two men to come forward, "Our Boss told us we can go as far as we want as long as we don’t kill you." He then turned to his two men, "Don’t worry about getting to jail if you’re caught, our Boss promise to release you guys as soon as possible as long as this bitch learn her lessons."
