Chapter 507: Chapter 507: Slightly Jealous, Helpless

Fu Shinian gently held Su Mu’s uninjured hand and smiled lightly:

"Emotional matters are not something outsiders can interfere with."

"As a friend, you should still give some advice. Even if you don’t want a divorce, you should resolve Qiao Na’s situation, right? You can’t just drag it on forever. Does Ji Nanfeng really want to enjoy the fortune of everyone?" The more Su Mu thought about it, the angrier he became: "I really don’t know why Jiang Bei was blind enough to marry Ji Nanfeng back in the day."

Qiao Yu paused in his actions upon hearing this, but ultimately didn’t say anything. He just allowed Fu Shinian to observe his reaction, his gaze slightly deepening.

After treating the wound, Jiang Bei also returned. Her expression was plain, but her mood seemed much better. It was unclear whether she had self-regulated or already discussed this matter with someone. After Fu Shinian glanced at Jiang Bei, he shifted his gaze to Su Mu’s bandaged wound and confirmed with Qiao Yu again:

"Really no need for hospitalization?"

Qiao Yu, slightly annoyed by his questioning, said: "If you have too much money and nowhere to spend it, I can apply for hospitalization for you. Not just for Su Mu, you can stay too, how about that?"

Fu Shinian: "..."

But Su Mu couldn’t help but smile: "I’m truly fine, let’s head home, so Qiqi and grandma don’t worry."

Fu Shinian responded, then looked up at Jiang Bei:

"I’ll take you."

Jiang Bei nodded but remained silent, Qiao Yu’s gaze slightly evasive, but it finally landed on Jiang Bei’s face. However, even when they were about to get into the car, he and Jiang Bei still did not speak, which made Su Mu feel anxious for him.

In Su Mu’s memory, Qiao Yu was never this listless, but in front of Jiang Bei, he was overly cautious and temperless.

On the way back, Su Mu and Jiang Bei sat in the back seat, with Fu Shinian driving. Su Mu wanted to say something to Jiang Bei, but Jiang Bei clearly did not want to bring up the issue, only reassuring Su Mu: "Don’t worry about me, I will handle my own affairs. It’s you who need to rest when you get back; I’ll visit you in a couple of days."

Seeing Jiang Bei’s resistant demeanor, Su Mu eventually did not bring up the afternoon’s events or ask her how she planned to resolve them.

After dropping off Jiang Bei, Fu Shinian did not leave immediately, looking at Su Mu:

"Should I call Wei Shaoqin?"

Su Mu paused: "For what?"

"Isn’t he picking up Qiqi?"

It was then Su Mu remembered that Qiqi had left with Wei Shaoqin early in the morning; she had been so distracted by the events that she had forgotten her, slightly annoyed, she then called Wei Shaoqin. They were at an amusement park having fun, and Qiqi did not want to go home yet, so Su Mu let them continue, and Wei Shaoqin also promised to bring Qiqi home before dinner.

Fu Shinian had no objections. But he was slightly annoyed when he heard Qiqi say on the phone, "I still want to play with Daddy Wei." As he drove onto the highway, his voice came slowly:

"In the future, let Qiqi call Wei Shaoqin ’Uncle Wei.’"

Su Mu was preoccupied with thinking about Jiang Bei and did not fully concentrate, so she did not understand Fu Shinian’s words and asked in confusion: "What did you say?"

Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu through the rearview mirror:

"Qiqi has me as a father, that’s enough. Let Wei Shaoqin step aside."

Only then did Su Mu understand what he meant, she smiled lightly, yet did not seem to agree with him:

"Besides medical staff, the first person Qiqi saw after being born was Wei Shaoqin. He arrived even before Jiang Bei and stayed there without leaving. The bond between Qiqi and him is destined, and over the years, his kindness towards Qiqi is no less than mine, maybe even more than yours."

Fu Shinian was not quite satisfied with this description by Su Mu, but seemed to have no reason to argue. He had missed out on Qiqi’s growth, a fact that he couldn’t avoid.

The car fell silent for a long time, and Su Mu gradually became lost in thought. However, just then, Fu Shinian spoke, a simple phrase, but Su Mu heard it very clearly. He said:

"It won’t happen in the future."

Hearing this, Su Mu smiled faintly.

She believed that statement.

Just then, a call from Lin Ning came in, and Su Mu glanced at it before pressing the answer button: "What’s up?"

"Sister Su, have you seen the news? President Huang’s scandals have all been exposed, and the magazine has also issued an official response, revoking all of his positions at the magazine."

Su Mu was startled:

"I haven’t seen it, when did this happen?"

"The news started brewing this morning, and it has peaked now. More and more people are exposing information, and there are even witnesses claiming that President Huang was beaten and hospitalized with both his arms broken."

Su Mu listened silently, then simply responded with ’Got it’ before hanging up.

Ending the call, Su Mu’s gaze fell on Fu Shinian. Sensing it, he met her gaze in the rearview mirror and smiled slightly: "Is there anything you want to say to me?"

"Was it you who did this to President Huang?"

"Yes." He admitted cleanly: "People like him are considered a bane to the industry, it’s not bad that he’s exposed in public now to prevent more innocent girls from being harmed in the future."

Su Mu felt no emotion about President Huang’s misfortune, thinking that such a person deserved whatever consequences came his way. She hadn’t expected Fu Shinian to act so swiftly, causing President Huang to fall from grace in less than 24 hours since his return.

When they got back to Bishui Yuntian, the elderly lady was taking a walk accompanied by Auntie Wang. Seeing Fu Shinian’s car return, she couldn’t help but smile, thinking he was anxious to see Su Mu and the child. She was about to tease him a bit, but unexpectedly, he headed straight to the back seat without even looking their way, opened the door, and carried the person inside out.

The elderly lady’s vision was not very good, and for a moment, she couldn’t clearly see who the blood-covered woman was. She tugged at Auntie Wang beside her: "Who is Shinian carrying?"

Auntie Wang took a glance and exclaimed: "It’s madam."

The elderly lady hurriedly walked over upon hearing this.

Su Mu was somewhat uncomfortable being carried like this by Fu Shinian, struggling to get down the whole time, but Fu Shinian threatened her, leaving her quite helpless:

"Let me go, I injured my arm, not my legs; I can walk completely fine, if grandma sees us, she’ll worry."

Fu Shinian looked at her: "You think being covered in blood, the old lady won’t notice?"

Su Mu was rendered speechless.

Fu Shinian carried Su Mu a few steps and met the rapidly approaching elderly lady head-on. She saw Su Mu in Fu Shinian’s arms, her heart aching so much she didn’t dare to touch her:

"What happened? Why so much blood? Where are you hurt?"
