Chapter 496: I Love Money, But I’m Not Short of It
Chapter 496: Chapter 496: I Love Money, But I’m Not Short of It
Just as Qi Qi had said, her fiancé was really uncomfortable in front of the camera. Even though Su Mu tried her best to make herself invisible, it was still a bit awkward. Su Mu then paused the photo shoot and asked Qi Qi to come over and take a look at the photos they had taken so far.
Other than being dissatisfied with her fiancé’s stiffness, Qi Qi was very pleased with Su Mu’s photography. Whether it was the people, the scenery, or her own expressions, Su Mu had captured everything perfectly and in the exact style she wanted. But when she looked at her fiancé, she couldn’t help feeling that it was a pity:
"What a waste of a good photo shoot."
Su Mu smiled:
"Most people are like this at the beginning, not relaxed in front of the camera. It will get better after a while. Let’s not rush things. Don’t we have three days for the shoot? Next, I’ll leave you two alone to have some fun. When you think your fiancé is relaxed, just give me a signal and I’ll come over."
Hearing this, Qi Qi hugged Su Mu:
"You’re the best, I really made the right choice in choosing you."
Su Mu smiled: "Mainly because your payment is on point."
Qi Qi laughed heartily, chatted with Su Mu for a bit more, and then went to find her fiancé. Su Mu slightly smiled and watched their retreating figures for a while before looking down at the previews on her computer. She was considering how to help Qi Qi’s fiancé relax when someone quietly stood behind her. She didn’t notice at first, not until Lin Ning spoke up:
"Su, Mr. Huang also wants to see the finished photos."
Su Mu turned around and saw Mr. Huang close at hand. She didn’t show any alarm or discontent, just moved away from the computer with a light smile: "Mr. Huang can see if they meet his expectations."
Although Mr. Huang was quite unscrupulous, he was ultimately an editor-in-chief at a fashion magazine with a solid understanding of photography. However, at this moment, he was entirely without that mindset. He glanced over the photos casually and nodded:
"Not bad."
Su Mu smiled and was about to pick up her camera and leave, when Mr. Huang watched her movements and smiled slightly:
"I didn’t see you at the airport yesterday, I thought you weren’t coming."
"How is that possible?" Su Mu laughed: "Not to mention I have a contract with the magazine, even without the contract, I couldn’t refuse the payment Qi Qi is offering me. Nobody dislikes money, myself included."
Mr. Huang seemed to have heard an opportunity in Su Mu’s words, his eyes brightening:
"You need money?"
Su Mu smiled: "Money is never enough. If I felt I had plenty of it, maybe I would just be sitting at home all day doing nothing."
"I happen to know of a way to make money quickly, I wonder if you’re interested."
While speaking, Mr. Huang’s gaze suggestively swept up and down Su Mu’s body, his intentions quite clear.
Mr. Huang, with his looks that were nothing extraordinary but his keen sense of style and love for sports and fitness, maintained an excellent figure, and in his position in the fashion industry, he was surrounded by too many women who wanted to establish a relation with him. But for some reason, he had taken an interest in Su Mu.
It was unfortunate, however, that Su Mu had never given him the time of day.
Mr. Huang had heard that although Su Mu was single, she had a child, but he didn’t care. He had a family himself, and his interactions with other women were always just for fun, without any thought of further consequences. If someone was to his taste, it wouldn’t hurt to maintain a relationship for a while. But to Su Mu, it seemed she never understood such favours. Despite his many subtle and obvious hints, she completely ignored them.
If it weren’t for the fact that the boss highly valued Su Mu, Mr. Huang might have already removed her from the magazine’s photography team. People are often masochistic: the more unattainable something is, the more they want it, while those easily obtained seem dull in comparison.
The photo shoot was important to the magazine, but it wasn’t to the extent that he needed to be present himself. He chose to come precisely because he wanted to make a breakthrough with Su Mu on this trip. He had even decided that if Su Mu didn’t agree, he would force her; after all, this was abroad, where even calling the police would be a hassle, not to mention they were both adults and both single. It was just a matter of getting into bed, and he didn’t think Su Mu would truly make a scene.
Some people play the part of the virtuous and chaste woman before the act, but after, who knows, they might just become sluts.
The many women who had climbed into his bed over the years had all behaved similarly, without exception. He believed Su Mu would be the same.
However, at this moment, Su Mu’s eyes bore unmistakable contempt as she withdrew her gaze:
"Mr. Huang, you misunderstood me. I love money, but I don’t lack money. As for money obtained through shady means, I find it too hot to handle."
Mr. Huang wanted to say something, but Su Mu had already cut him off:
"I have to go back to shooting, I’ll skip chatting with Mr. Huang for now. It’s so sunny here, Mr. Huang should head back to the hotel and rest."
After finishing her sentence, Su Mu took her camera and headed towards Qi Qi, who was walking on the wooden bridge.
Su Mu did not approach them but started with taking long shots, not disturbing the two of them. With no camera to constrain him, Qi Qi’s fiancé no longer appeared stiff. Su Mu took a few pictures and was satisfied with the results.
With a gradual approach, her fiancé noticed and tensed a little, but Su Mu did her utmost to make herself invisible. She remained silent when not shooting and didn’t look at them, blending in like an ordinary tourist. Gradually, the fiancé completely relaxed, and Su Mu was able to continue shooting, speeding up the progress considerably.
As noon approached and Qi Qi left to eat, Su Mu continued with the photo shoot, wanting to capture every state of the couple, not necessarily the best, but definitely the most natural.
Because she was following the shoot, Su Mu didn’t have time for lunch. Although Qi Qi had come over to persuade her, Su Mu insisted on finishing the job first. After eating, Qi Qi and her fiancé decided to go back to rest for a bit, worried about delaying Su Mu’s progress. Qi Qi came to discuss with Su Mu, who smiled:
"I’ve said before, treat me like an invisible person. Do whatever makes you comfortable, do whatever you want, but I might need to take a few shots in your room."
Back at the hotel where Qi Qi was staying, Su Mu noticed that her fiancé’s sense of restraint had returned, but it was not severe. Since it was a place for resting, Su Mu didn’t stay long, only took a few shots, and then left. With that, the morning’s photo shoot officially ended, and Su Mu was already starving.
Lin Ning had prepared a drink in advance, and as soon as Su Mu stepped out of the room, he immediately handed it to her: "Su, have a drink to quench your thirst first, and then we’ll go have lunch."
Su Mu took a sip of the drink, smiled slightly, and patted Lin Ning on the head:
"You’re such a good kid~"
