Chapter 488: Chapter 488: I’ll Take Over Everything for Her

Su Mu probably didn’t expect Fu Shinian to say that. She smiled faintly, not saying a word, but Fu Shinian accurately caught that trace of a smile and looked at her:

"What are you smiling about?"

"Nothing."

Su Mu’s gaze fell outside the window, appearing unwilling to continue talking, which prompted Fu Shinian to raise his eyebrows slightly, but indeed he didn’t inquire further.

Although Fu Shinian mentioned they were going out for drinks, Su Mu didn’t expect that Fu Shinian would take her to a bar. Knowing that Fu Shinian usually disliked such places, she wasn’t particularly fond of them either. However, during this chaotic night, perhaps the liveliness and noise could somewhat alleviate the emotions that she had no place to vent.

Fu Shinian took Su Mu to a private room on the second floor, but the entire wall was made of glass, so they could clearly see the hustle on the first floor from the room, and still enjoy their privacy in this small corner of the world, which indeed suited Su Mu. Fu Shinian ordered a variety of drinks then waved for the waiter to leave. He noticed that Su Mu kept looking down at the first floor and asked:

"Are you satisfied with this place?"

Su Mu didn’t turn her head, but responded:

"Not bad."

Hearing this, Fu Shinian smiled faintly.

That evening, Fu Shinian kept his promise and did not bring up the troubling matters worrying Su Mu. He simply accompanied her quietly. After the drinks arrived, Fu Shinian opened a bottle and handed it to Su Mu. As she took it and saw that he didn’t intend to drink himself, she asked:

"Aren’t you drinking?"

"I’ll pass. If both of us drink too much, trouble might follow," Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu, "If you’re not afraid of my unruly behavior when drunk, I could risk accompanying a gentleman."

Su Mu chuckled and took a sip:

"You’re no gentleman. You could act indecently even without alcohol. It’s not like you haven’t done it before; what’s with the gentleman act now?"

"If you have so little confidence in me, why did you agree to come out with me?"

"Wasn’t it you who forced me to come?"

Fu Shinian smiled and nodded: "Yes, I forced you."

Su Mu put down the bottle and stared at Fu Shinian, who initially didn’t say anything and didn’t seem to care, but as Su Mu’s gaze stayed fixed on him, he couldn’t help but ask:

"What are you staring at me for?"

"Are you planning to do something to me tonight?"

"Why would you say that?"

Su Mu smiled, said nothing, just lifted the bottle and finished the remaining alcohol. Fu Shinian saw this and frowned slightly, "You can drink freely, but don’t drink so quickly, it’s not good for you."

"You haven’t answered my question."

"Does it make a difference? Whether or not I plan to do anything to you, you still came with me, and you don’t really have a choice anymore."

Su Mu looked at Fu Shinian:

"So you mean, you will?"

"What about you? Do you want it or not?"

"If I say I don’t want to, will you not do it?"

Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu, didn’t say anything, just smiled shallowly. Su Mu felt that her question was meaningless, indeed there was no difference in asking. The thought of Fu Shinian wanting to do something to her wasn’t new; he never hid these thoughts; it wasn’t just today, it could be tomorrow. She seemed unable to escape it.

Having been forced to face so many things today, Su Mu actually didn’t want to see Fu Shinian, but whether to meet or not didn’t seem to be her decision.

That evening, the two didn’t talk much more. Su Mu drank one bottle after another, while Fu Shinian just sat beside and watched, occasionally playing with his phone, but mostly keeping his eyes on her. Midway through the drink, Su Mu’s consciousness had begun to blur, but she handled her liquor well, never crying or making noise, just sitting there with her eyes closed, and when she felt like it, she would take another drink.

Around almost 4 a.m., with only three bottles left on the table, Su Mu was still holding a bottle; Fu Shinian stood up, walked over, and took the bottle from her hand. She seemed to be asleep, offering no resistance, but as Fu Shinian picked her up, she opened her eyes and seeing the person in front of her, lightly tugged at the corner of her mouth:

"Endured all night, and finally can’t hold back?"

Fu Shinian kissed her on the lips: "As you wish."

When leaving the bar, Fu Shinian didn’t expect to encounter an acquaintance. Wen Han was sitting at the bar, drinking sullenly by himself. Fu Shinian stood not far behind him; before he could decide whether to greet him or not, Wen Han had already turned his head and saw him.

Naturally, he also saw the unconscious Su Mu in his arms.

Their gazes collided, and Fu Shinian said nothing, but Wen Han smiled. Despite the deafening music in the bar, Fu Shinian could still hear Wen Han’s words:

"After a big circle, I didn’t expect Su Mu to still end up by your side."

Fu Shinian was blunt:

"Yes, if you knew it would end like this, why bother scheming for those few months of relationship? If nothing had started between you two, maybe you could still be friends in the future."

"You agree with that?"

Fu Shinian laughed lightly:

"Why not? Su Mu never liked you from the start. Having one more friend by her side is only beneficial for her, I see no reason to stop her."

"I didn’t expect you to be so generous."

"You’re just too narrow-minded." Fu Shinian stepped closer: "You want to know the exact connection between Su Mu and me, yet you never ask. You are certainly entitled to ask, yet you pretend to graciously accept everything about Su Mu. If you could truly do that, it would be a form of tolerance and love. But on one hand, you give Su Mu the so-called freedom, and on the other, you let your mother arrange people to monitor her by Su Mu’s side. If you truly understood Su Mu, you would know that under such invisible ’tolerance’, she is increasingly feeling suffocated."

Wen Han slightly furrowed his brows:

"How did you know?"

"Know what? About the people your mother sent?" Fu Shinian laughed lightly: "Su Mu is surrounded by bodyguards I’ve placed in the shadows. Did you think I wouldn’t know about the people your mother sent? I didn’t tell Su Mu to save you face, but Wen Han, what have you been doing?"

Wen Han clenched his glass, unable to utter a word, while Fu Shinian smiled faintly:

"Wen Han, love is always selfish. You want her to belong to you, her heart, her body, her thoughts, not allowing anyone else to touch her, otherwise, you’d go crazy, want to kill. Perhaps your feelings for Su Mu were never love, don’t continue to harm her under the pretense of loving her. But you won’t have the chance anymore, since I’ve taken over her future."
