Chapter 444: Chapter 444 Massive Photography Blaze, Unintentional
Sensitivity isn’t something that heals overnight, especially the sensitivity of a child, which needs to be treated with the utmost care, or else, if not careful, she might overthink things. Therefore, Su Mu didn’t force her to recognize Fu Shinian as her father today, and Fu Shinian understood Qiqi’s lack of security. He slightly smiled and comforted her,
"Qiqi, it’s alright. As long as you’re happy, you can call me Fu Shinian for a lifetime. I won’t mind."
Qiqi looked at Su Mu, and Su Mu also smiled,
"You can, but I still hope you can accept it. I’m not requiring it now. You can think about it slowly. When you feel the time is right, you can change how you address me yourself. I won’t force you, okay?"
Hearing this, Qiqi also smiled and nodded.
After breakfast, Su Mu had to leave Bishui Yuntian. She had a lot of things to do; she needed to visit the Wen Family, take a look at houses, and find a kindergarten for Qiqi. She was busy and it wouldn’t be ideal to take Qiqi along. Perhaps because of the incident earlier that made her feel insecure, or maybe because she really felt that she hadn’t seen Su Mu for a long time, Qiqi wanted to leave with Su Mu when she departed. Remembering how Qiqi had been just a moment ago, Su Mu couldn’t refuse.
However, leaving together made Fu Shinian feel somewhat lonely, but he didn’t say anything, only accompanying them to the door,
"You don’t need to worry about the kindergarten thing. I’ve already made contact, but you still need to take a look yourself, to feel more at ease. When you have time, we can go together."
Fu Shinian indeed had responsibilities in terms of education, and his affections for Qiqi were absolute. He would not treat her poorly and naturally chose the best options for her. Therefore, Su Mu didn’t say much and simply nodded,
"Alright."
"When do you plan to move?"
Su Mu glanced at Fu Shinian,
"I’m looking for a house. As soon as possible, I guess."
Even though there were signs of warming relations between Jiang Bei and Ji Nanfeng, having moved back from the hotel to the villa, it wasn’t a permanent solution. No one knew when the two might clash again. It was better for Su Mu to move sooner rather than later. Fu Shinian nodded and couldn’t help asking again,
"Are you sure you don’t want to live in my house? I’m not offering it for you. It’s for Qiqi; she’s my daughter, and there’s nothing more suitable than my house, right?"
Su Mu smiled,
"But I am not suitable."
"You will be eventually."
"Maybe never."
Su Mu didn’t bother with Fu Shinian further, just smiled faintly, hugged Qiqi, and got into the car. Qiqi sat in her car seat and waved reluctantly out the window at Fu Shinian,
"Fu Shinian, I will miss you."
Fu Shinian smiled softly and leaned in to kiss her little face, "I will miss you too. Call me anytime."
"Okay."
After Su Mu’s car left, Fu Shinian called Song Yi,
"Any news recently?"
As long as the shooter from the underground parking incident remained at large, Fu Shinian couldn’t fully relax. Unfortunately, the news he received wasn’t encouraging,
"None."
Fu Shinian, exhausted, pinched the bridge of his nose,
"Put more effort into it. With Su Mu and Qiqi not being able to be by my side at all times and being out there with this kind of danger, I can’t be at ease."
"Yes, I will."
Su Mu first took Qiqi to the Wen Family, but as they got out of the car, she received a call from Ji Qingluan. She began,
"Where are you?"
"Just arrived at the Wen Family."
"I thought you would have stayed over at the Wen Family last night."
Su Mu was silent for a few seconds, "It rained last night; Qiqi is afraid of such weather, so I went back."
"I was just asking casually." Ji Qingluan paused for a moment, "I guess I shouldn’t be asking you this question, but I don’t really know who to ask. How is Wen Han?"
"He’s okay. No matter how much suffering he has inside, he wouldn’t show it on the surface for people to see. After all, he has his mother and his son – they all rely on him. Even if he’s not doing well, I guess he would disguise himself just fine."
Ji Qingluan sighed, "Let’s not talk about that. Actually, I called you because I have some good news for you."
"For me?" Su Mu was somewhat surprised, "What?"
"The photos you took for our foundation that were posted on social media have drawn a lot of attention. People have become aware of this group, and of you. I’ve tagged your Weibo account, and I imagine it must be overwhelmed by now."
Su Mu didn’t quite know what to say. If she had a choice, she certainly wouldn’t want such attention.
"I just wanted to bring more attention to this group. If I can do that, I’m already satisfied."
"You certainly did. Our foundation has received donations from all sides in the past few days, as well as clothes and books from netizens. It’s a rough estimate, but we’ve got several hundred thousand now."
Su Mu smiled,
"That’s good."
"I have a question for you."
"Go ahead."
"We received a donation from an anonymous person, 1 million yuan, and couldn’t trace who it was. I wanted to ask if you know who it might be."
Su Mu lightly smiled, "You’re the head of the foundation, why are you asking me?"
"Because I think the anonymous benefactor is you."
Su Mu looked at Qiqi beside her, looking up at her, and softly smiled,
"I have things to do, I’m hanging up."
After Su Mu and Qiqi entered the house, Zhou Yaxian was sitting on the living room couch, holding a wooden photo frame. Su Mu glanced at the corner of the table where Zhou Yaxian and Wen Songyan’s photo used to be, it wasn’t there anymore; Zhou Yaxian must be holding it now.
Su Mu greeted her, but Zhou Yaxian didn’t make any move, her gaze seriously locked on the photo as if she were completely unaware of Su Mu’s arrival. Su Mu called out a few more times, but still received no answer. She couldn’t help but worry and approached to sit beside Zhou Yaxian,
"Auntie."
Only then did Zhou Yaxian react, albeit slowly looking at Su Mu, without any shock of someone suddenly appearing by her side, instead, she smiled faintly,
"Susu is here?"
Su Mu had never seen Zhou Yaxian in such a state, even when Wen Songyan had just died. After crying hard the day before, Su Mu thought Zhou Yaxian would get better with time. After all, she seemed somewhat better-spirited last night, but now she seemed more serious than before.
"Where is Wen Han? Why are you here alone?"
Zhou Yaxian put the photo down, but her gaze still lingered reluctantly on it, and her response seemed offhand,
"He had things to take care of at the station. He should be back soon."
