Chapter 437: Chapter 437: If You Don’t Agree, I Won’t Make a Move

Su Mu had always been considerate, never doing anything against Su Mu’s wishes, even giving her a heads-up before a hug. But this time, he didn’t say a word and directly took Su Mu back to the bedroom, casually locking the door behind them. As Su Mu grew anxious, he walked over to the window, switched off the lights, and drew the curtains close.

Though it was the afternoon, Wen Han’s bedroom curtains were thick and dark. With the curtains drawn, Su Mu felt engulfed in darkness, unable to see even a sliver of light. However, she could sense Wen Han’s approaching footsteps and his increasingly intense presence.

Her instincts told her not to be nervous, that Wen Han would never overstep, but given their current relationship, anything seemed reasonable, except...

Su Mu hadn’t figured out how to escape this situation when Wen Han was already in front of her, grabbing her hand once again. She couldn’t see his expression, only hear his voice. He asked, "Nervous?"

Su Mu shook her head silently, then, realizing that Wen Han might not see her, she opened her mouth to speak. Before she could, Wen Han had already wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her up. She instinctively struggled, but Wen Han held her even tighter until he laid her on the soft bed.

Escape—that was Su Mu’s instinctual reaction. The moment Wen Han’s body left hers, she struggled to get off the bed, but with Wen Han standing right there, escape seemed impossible. Su Mu told herself she might be overthinking, perhaps Wen Han just meant for her to rest well. But then, she heard the sound of him undressing.

At that moment, Su Mu admitted to herself that she was genuinely panicking.

"Wen Han, you..."

"What do you think I’m going to do to you?"

"You’ve been tired these days. You should rest well. I won’t disturb you. Call me when you wake up."

After saying this, Su Mu attempted to leave the bed from the other side but was swiftly caught by Wen Han’s quick reaction. In a second, he was on top of her, pinning her between the bed and himself. Fortunately, he supported his body and didn’t touch her excessively. But this position already had Su Mu’s heart pounding like thunder.

"Wen Han..."

"You can spend time with my mom, you can spend time with Shaoyuan. I’m your boyfriend, why don’t you say you’ll spend time with me too?"

"I didn’t." Though Su Mu was getting used to the darkness, she still couldn’t see Wen Han’s face. She could only explain, "I just want you to rest well."

"Don’t leave."

Su Mu was silent for a few seconds before responding softly, "I won’t leave."

Wen Han noticeably let out a breath of relief and then turned over to lie beside Su Mu. Though released from restraint, her body remained stiff. Regardless, Wen Han wasn’t going to do anything more to her now. Su Mu’s tensed heart hadn’t fully relaxed yet, but Wen Han then turned again and pulled her tightly into his embrace.

Su Mu held her breath instinctively, barely daring to breathe deeply.

Wen Han stared at Su Mu in the darkness without blinking:

"Are you afraid of what I might do to you?"

Su Mu said nothing.

"I admit, I want to. You are the woman I like. I want to hold you, kiss you, possess you. But I know you don’t like me, so I must suppress these impulses." Wen Han paused. "Rest assured, no matter what mood I am in or whether I still have my senses, I won’t do anything excessive without your permission."

Su Mu slowly relaxed, and after a few seconds of silence, Wen Han lightly curved his lips:

"I just want to hold you and sleep for a while. If you’re unwilling, I can let go."

A few seconds of silence later, Su Mu lightly replied, "Mmm, you sleep. I won’t leave."

"You should get some sleep too, don’t stay up."

"Okay."

Soon, the sound of steady breathing reached Su Mu’s ears, and the arm around her waist loosened—Wen Han had fallen asleep.

Su Mu breathed a sigh of relief but still dared not move. She feared waking Wen Han and feared that he might say something again that she wouldn’t know how to respond to.

These past few days had been hectic, and Su Mu had stayed without leaving. Honestly, she was also tired and in need of rest. Being held by Wen Han, her boyfriend, should have been the perfect cue for her to fall asleep peacefully, but she had no hint of sleepiness. She found herself uncontrollably thinking about a lot of things—the words Wen Han had just said, the future of the Wen Family, her relationship with Wen Han, and even the words Jiang Bei had said to her in the hospital.

Of course, Su Mu hoped that all this was just Jiang Bei overthinking. Nevertheless, she inevitably had to consider these matters thoroughly, as nobody knew when Zhou Yaxian might suddenly bring it up.

Su Mu’s mind was in turmoil, her body stiff, but even so, she slowly closed her eyes, gradually losing consciousness. She was too tired.

When she awoke, she was covered with a thin blanket, and the room was still dark. Su Mu thought she hadn’t slept much, but there was no one beside her. She got up, turned on the light, and discovered that it was already nearly 8 PM. Shocked, she hurried downstairs.

The living room light was on, and before Su Mu approached, she heard Wen Han and Zhou Yaxian’s discussion about her:

"...When your dad was still with us, I thought our health was still good, and we didn’t need to worry too much about you. You didn’t need to worry about us either. But who knew that accidents happen so suddenly, catching us off guard. So, I have to think about some things. This way, even if something happens to me and I go to another world, I won’t have to worry too much about you. I could face your father and have something to tell him."

"Mom, what are you talking about?"

"Don’t find my words unpleasant. I’m saying what needs to be considered. Can you say your dad had no regrets when he left? He collapsed suddenly, didn’t open his eyes to see us one last time within those three days, and left without a word. He must have had a lot to say, but he didn’t have the chance. I must take care of your affairs while I can."

Wen Han was silent, and Zhou Yaxian also paused for a few seconds:

"I know you haven’t been dating Su Mu for long, and talking about marriage might seem abrupt. But Wen Han, it’s not just you who has Su Mu on your mind. I heard that Qiqi has been with Fu Shinian lately. Them acknowledging their father-daughter relationship is just a matter of time. With Qiqi there, they can’t stop contacting each other. Aren’t you afraid their old feelings might rekindle?"

Wen Han heard Zhou Yaxian’s words but didn’t agree:

"Mom, Su Mu isn’t that type of person."

"I know very well what kind of person Su Mu is, but life is unpredictable. Are you so sure that Su Mu will never ask for a breakup?"
