Fu Shinian smiled faintly,

"Jiang Bei isn’t missing, she’s just hiding and healing herself after an unhappy incident. She’ll come out eventually. There’s no reason why she can’t be found. It’s just that she’s pregnant now, in a bad mood, and no one dares to predict what might happen to her next, right?"

Su Mu looked at him, her expression cold,

"You may not know where Jiang Bei is."

Fu Shinian smiled slightly, made a call to Ji Nanfeng, but the result was unsurprising; Ji Nanfeng had no news of Jiang Bei either. Fu Shinian ended the call, and before he could dial another, he saw Su Mu’s mocking expression and smiled faintly,

"Don’t trust me?"

Su Mu didn’t speak, but her silence spoke volumes. After all, one phone call had ended, and Fu Shinian had indeed brought her no news about Jiang Bei. Seeing this, Fu Shinian didn’t bother to explain himself; he just smiled lightly and dialed another number,

"Rong Shen, Jiang Bei is missing."

Su Mu was stunned for a few seconds upon hearing this and looked at Fu Shinian. He sensed her gaze, smiled faintly again, and the next second, pulled the phone away from his ear and pressed the speaker button. Rong Shen’s voice slowly rose in the car the next second. He said,

"Missing?"

Though it was a question, Su Mu didn’t hear even the slightest hint of anxiety in his tone. This seemed at odds with the feelings he showed for Jiang Bei the last time she saw him. The only possibility then was that he knew where Jiang Bei was. Sure enough, he said next,

"That’s for you to think. I don’t feel Jiang Bei is missing."

Unable to wait for Fu Shinian to continue talking evasively, Su Mu cut in,

"Rong Shen, is Xiaobei with you?"

"Su Mu?" Rong Shen chuckled lightly, "How come you’re with Fu Shinian? Did you forgive him after hearing what I said last time about all he did for you?"

Su Mu frowned slightly, and even Fu Shinian looked up at her, smiling faintly,

"Have you met Rong Shen?"

Ignoring him, Su Mu asked Rong Shen directly,

"You haven’t answered my question. Is Xiaobei with you?"

"Yes, any problem?"

For some reason, at that moment, the anxiety Su Mu had been carrying fluttered away, and she exhaled slowly,

"Is she by your side now? I’d like to talk to her."

"She’s asleep." Rong Shen’s tone was light, "She hardly slept at all last night, and even if you want to talk to her, I won’t wake her up. She needs rest now."

After he finished speaking, he hung up abruptly. Su Mu stared at the darkened phone screen for a moment, not comprehending until Fu Shinian put away the phone and looked at her,

"What did Rong Shen say to you?"

Su Mu glanced up at him,

"Nothing much, just the things you once presumptuously did for me."

Fu Shinian chuckled lightly upon hearing this,

"Indeed."

"What?"

"Indeed presumptuous."

Su Mu looked at him and said nothing more.

Knowing where Jiang Bei was, who she was with, and if she was safe, Su Mu’s anxious heart finally settled back into place. She was no longer in a hurry to see Jiang Bei. One reason was that Jiang Bei was resting, and another, even to her own surprise, was that she had inexplicably developed a sense of trust in Rong Shen. She felt in her heart that he would be good to Jiang Bei and would not harm her.

This was quite unreasonable, as Su Mu had seen with her own eyes some of the things Rong Shen had done to Jiang Bei in the past.

But maybe compared to Ji Nanfeng, Rong Shen was a bit more trustworthy. After all, during the time Jiang Bei and Rong Shen were together, there were never any messy women around Rong Shen.

The car drove all the way to Bishui Yuntian. Su Mu looked at the familiar buildings in front of her and felt a sense of resistance. She even felt an inexplicable anger towards Fu Shinian and wished she could slap him hard across the face. As soon as Fu Shinian caught her gaze, he knew of her aversion and began to explain,

"The Great Grandmother hasn’t returned to the old mansion after she recovered. For both her and me, the old house is no longer the same. There really isn’t any need to continue staying there, so I brought her here. Do you mind?"

"If I’d known we were coming here, I wouldn’t have come, no matter what."

Upon hearing this, Qiqi became a bit curious, gently tugging on Su Mu’s fingers,

"Mu Mu, don’t you like this place? I think it’s pretty."

It was pretty, but the prettiness left one full of holes.

Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu, silent for a few seconds, then picked up Qiqi before faintly adding,

"I do have quite a few properties, but besides the old house and this place, they are mostly apartments. The other two villas are also unused and unfurnished. The Great Grandmother is old, and it’s not convenient for her to live in an apartment. I originally planned to bring her to Gui Ning Residence. But that’s where I wanted to live with you. Before you moved in, I didn’t want anyone to precede you, not even the Great Grandmother."

Su Mu huffed,

"Then you might as well sell it soon. I doubt I’ll ever move in."

Fu Shinian responded with a light smile,

"I’ll say it again, don’t be so absolute. I’ll find a way to make you move in, even if you’re reluctant."

Su Mu glared at him fiercely, but just as she was about to speak out, the Great Grandmother came out from inside, her presence lighting up at the sight of Susu and Qiqi,

"Susu, you’re here. I thought this young man was fooling me."

Su Mu smiled lightly, calling out ’Grandmother,’ and Qiqi happily jumped down from Fu Shinian’s arms, ran to the Great Grandmother, and hugged her legs, calling out ’Great Grandmother’ affectionately. The Great Grandmother’s eyes crinkled into slits when she saw Qiqi like this. She wanted to bend down and pick Qiqi up; had Auntie Wang not been there to stop her, she might have really done so regardless of the consequences.

Fu Shinian watched the happy scene between grandmother and grandchild from a distance and took a couple of steps to Su Mu’s side,

"Don’t you think that all of this is the best growing environment for Qiqi?"

Su Mu glanced at him faintly,

"You don’t have to go to such lengths. I won’t backtrack."

Fu Shinian looked at her deeply, about to say something, but Su Mu didn’t give him the chance and walked straight towards the Great Grandmother.
