Chapter 363: Chapter 363: I Understand What You Want to Say

The news that Wen Han and Su Mu were together excited Zhou Yaxian so much that she soon took the two kids out for dinner, saying she would bring something back for them and suggesting it was a good time for them to have a talk.

Su Mu, of course, understood Zhou Yaxian’s intentions, but after last night’s events, being alone with Wen Han again made Su Mu feel somewhat uneasy. It was fortunate that Wen Han didn’t ask any questions and instead engaged in other topics, which eased Su Mu’s discomfort considerably. However, the more they talked about other things, the stronger Su Mu’s anxiety became until she couldn’t help but ask,

"Don’t you want to ask what I talked about with Fu Shinian yesterday?"

Wen Han looked at Su Mu and smiled slightly,

"So you can’t hold it in anymore? I thought you could last a little longer than this."

Su Mu looked at him, puzzled, and Wen Han explained with a smile,

"That’s just the way you are. You can hide your own issues very well, so no one can tell, but as soon as it involves someone else, you can’t quite hide it on your face."

What he meant was that even if he didn’t know the specifics of what had happened between Su Mu and Fu Shinian last night, he had his own guesses. After all, if there was nothing to it, Su Mu wouldn’t be acting this way in front of him. But, even so, he chose to remain silent.

"Ever since my mom took the kids away, you’ve been uneasy. I’ve been dragging you into talking about these trivial matters, trying to get you to relax and stop thinking about whatever’s bothering you, but it seems to have had little effect. You clearly didn’t catch my meaning."

Su Mu forced a smile,

"I’ve been thinking about it all last night, hesitating whether to tell you or not, but..."

"So that’s why you didn’t sleep well?" Wen Han frowned and looked at her, "What were those two little jokes I sent you for? Didn’t you understand?"

Su Mu stayed silent. Understanding one thing was one matter, but reality was another. Wen Han could be a gentleman, not prying for details, yet she seemingly couldn’t remain unaffected.

"If I had known that this would keep you up all night, I should have just been straightforward with you." Wen Han gently took Su Mu’s hand, "Susu, I didn’t ask because I can probably guess what Fu Shinian said to you. Seeing how troubled you are, I also have an idea of what he might have done to you..."

"I..."

"I know, you don’t need to explain," Wen Han smiled, "Not asking isn’t because I don’t care, or because I’m not angry, but these things aren’t related to you. I trust that it wasn’t what you wanted, that you must have resisted, and that you are a victim too. All my negative emotions, no matter how plentiful, should not be imposed on you. That’s not fair to you, and it’s another form of hurt."

Su Mu looked at Wen Han, her eyes slightly reddening, at a loss for what to say. It was Wen Han who smiled gently and pulled her into his embrace for a tender hug,

"Don’t worry, I won’t let you suffer in vain. I will help you get justice, definitely."

Zhou Yaxian returned very late, so late that Su Mu and Wen Han were both quite hungry. Upon hearing Su Mu’s stomach rumbling, Wen Han smiled helplessly and picked up his phone,

"My mom probably wanted us to talk alone, so she deliberately took her time. I’ll call her now to hurry her up."

Su Mu hadn’t yet spoken to stop Wen Han when the room door was politely knocked on, and in the next second, the door pushed open, revealing Zhou Yaxian’s beaming face,

"Hope I haven’t interrupted you two?"

Wen Han, "...Mom, can you not do this?"

Su Mu indeed felt shy, but Zhou Yaxian just laughed and didn’t say anything else, passing the food to Su Mu, "Hungry? Eat up."

After the meal, at the insistence of Zhou Yaxian and Wen Han, Su Mu decided not to stay in the hospital any longer and prepared to take Qiqi back to the apartment. Zhou Yaxian suggested she go straight back to the Wen Family’s place, which was safe and convenient, but Su Mu tactfully declined. Zhou Yaxian was surprised to learn about their relationship and would definitely not accept Susu moving into the Wen Family home now.

However, Zhou Yaxian was very concerned about Su Mu’s safety and wanted to say something more when Wen Han interrupted her,

"Mom, just let Su Mu go back with Qiqi. She will take good care of herself, and there’s nothing unsafe right now. Besides, we’ve only just confirmed our relationship; it’s too soon to be staying at the Wen Family’s home. You might be okay with it, but Susu would be embarrassed."

Zhou Yaxian thought about it and found it made sense, but she still insisted on escorting Su Mu to her apartment downstairs.

When Su Mu thanked her and returned home, Qiqi was already a bit sleepy. Su Mu looked at the time, decided it was nap time, and planned to go back to the room to sleep with her. However, Su Yimo clung to Su Mu’s fingers, prompting Su Mu to turn and look at her, seeing much confusion in her eyes, and knew she had a lot of questions for her.

With a faint smile, Su Mu resettled on the sofa and gently stroked her hair,

"Do you have any questions you want to ask?"

Su Yimo looked at Su Mu,

"Mu Mu, I don’t quite understand what exactly is going on between you and Uncle Wen. Shinian said that you are together now, but haven’t you always been together? Shinian says it’s not what I think. So, which is it?"

Su Yimo’s question caught Su Mu off guard. It would have been an easy question to answer before Su Yimo knew who her father was. But now that she knew Fu Shinian was her father, how should she tell her that Wen Han would also become her dad?

She’s such a sensible child, but still only three years old. Su Mu found it truly difficult to face Su Yimo with this.

Su Mu’s silence made Su Yimo a bit frustrated,

"Did I ask something that made Mu Mu uncomfortable?"

Su Mu shook her head,

"No, it’s just that Mu Mu hasn’t quite figured out how to tell you, and how to make you understand."

"Then wait until you’ve figured it out before telling me."

Su Mu nodded, but the smile at the corner of her mouth was a bit strained. Su Yimo didn’t move to get off the sofa, so Su Mu knew she had other questions, seeing her conflicted expression, Su Mu guessed what she wanted to ask and smiled faintly,

"Do you want to ask about... daddy?"

Su Yimo glanced at Su Mu, neither nodding nor shaking her head, but the silence undoubtedly confirmed Su Mu’s guess – not admitting it was just to avoid making Su Mu uncomfortable. However, she still could hardly control her desire to know.

"Go ahead and ask. I will tell you what I know."

"Really?"

Su Mu nodded, waiting for her to speak.
