Chapter 359: Chapter 359: Sharing a Room, It’s Really Inappropriate

The sourness in Fu Shinian’s voice was so evident that Su Mu could feel it through the muggy air of the room, prompting her to chuckle softly,

"Mr. Fu, I really don’t understand what you mean. Where did I go wrong? The conversation between us ended three years ago, with nothing left to say. Now, going to my boyfriend’s hospital room to talk to him is only natural, right and proper, and no one can fault me for it. What’s the matter? You have a problem with that?"

"Boyfriend?" Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu, enunciated each syllable of the word, his eyes narrowing slightly with a dangerous glint. Although Su Mu was not afraid of him, his gaze still made her feel almost panicky, and once again, she thought about escaping. But then she thought about it and found it ridiculous.

Was she still accustomed to living under the emotions of him from three years ago? But everything had changed since then, there was no relationship left between him and her, so what was there to run from? She hadn’t done anything wrong. The person who really should leave this room was him, never her.

Su Mu looked at Fu Shinian with a slight smile,

"What’s wrong? Surprised?"

"When did that happen?" Fu Shinian couldn’t believe they had been together for some time; even if what Su Mu said was true, it must have been recent.

"What does it have to do with you?"

"Of course." Fu Shinian calmed himself down and smiled at Su Mu, "I just hope it won’t be too long. After all, you are bound to break up sooner or later. The shorter the time, the less damage you’ll suffer. I don’t want to see you go through another heartbreak."

Fu Shinian’s words made Su Mu slightly frown,

"Can’t you say something nice? Since I’ve chosen to be with him, I’m in it for life. We won’t break up; we’ll get married."

"Get married?" Fu Shinian chuckled, "Are you sure everything will go as you imagine? You once thought of growing old with me, didn’t you? But what happened? Didn’t reality give you a slap in the face? Su Mu, it’s better not to think too far ahead when it comes to matters of the heart. It’s not good for you, for Wen Han, or even for the child."

"You have the nerve to mention the past?" Su Mu looked at him coldly, "I thought that past would be difficult for you to bring up. But looking at you now, it seems it’s no big deal for you at all. Do you think what you did to me back then doesn’t matter? In your eyes, are my expectations of you and the outcome I eventually got just a joke?"

Fu Shinian’s gaze was deep as he looked at Su Mu,

"I’ve never thought that way. Reality didn’t just slap you; all those promises I made to you were also unfulfilled, slapped by reality. But Su Mu, everything that happened after returning from Gui Ning Residence was not my intention. Before you were kidnapped, I never thought of leaving you."

When the kidnapping was mentioned, Su Mu couldn’t help but remember the things Rong Shen had told her at dinner. She had wanted to ask Wen Han, but now that their roles had changed and he had become her boyfriend, it seemed inappropriate to go to him with questions about her ex-husband.

But Fu Shinian was different; he was a participant in the events. It was better for him to answer her doubts. As for whether she believed it or not, Su Mu was no fool; she would judge for herself.

Su Mu looked at Fu Shinian with serious eyes, "I have a question for you."

"Go ahead."

"Back when I was kidnapped by Han Jie, did you actually go to the scene?"

Fu Shinian looked at her and didn’t answer immediately but instead asked her a question, "Who told you that? Wen Han?"

"What does it have to do with Wen Han?"

Fu Shinian sneered at her words,

"If it wasn’t Wen Han who told you, then perhaps you should ask him. Although Wen Han doesn’t know much about what happened back then, I believe he does know whether I was at the scene."

Su Mu asked the question seeking an answer, but Fu Shinian’s response only muddled her further. Wen Han also knew?

"I’m asking you, and if you don’t want to answer, just tell me; I won’t force you."

Fu Shinian looked at her for a few seconds and admitted, "I was there."

Even though she had anticipated the answer, hearing Fu Shinian confirm it still somewhat startled her. After a few seconds of silence, she looked at Fu Shinian, "You were hurt as well?"

"Yes."

Su Mu believed him, but Fu Shinian apparently didn’t think so. He stood up from the couch and began to unbutton his shirt right in front of her startled gaze. Although she didn’t immediately turn away, she stopped him at once,

"What are you doing?"

"What I say probably doesn’t hold much credibility with you anymore. I’m unbuttoning my shirt to show you the injuries from back then. I’m not lying to you."

He had already undone the third button, and Su Mu had turned away,

"You don’t need to do this, I believe you."

Fu Shinian smirked, "Even if you believe me, I still need to show you."

Hearing him continue with undressing, Su Mu got up from the sofa and hurried to the window, not giving Fu Shinian another glance, "I said I believe you. You really don’t need to do this. There’s no relationship between us anymore. It’s inappropriate for us to be alone in this room, and if my boyfriend were to see this, he might misunderstand. I know you don’t care about these things, but please consider them for my sake."

After these words, the room behind Su Mu fell silent. After standing still for a few seconds, she sensed something off and turned around to find Fu Shinian silently standing behind her, his upper clothing already thrown on the nearby couch.

Su Mu almost instinctively wanted to flee, but Fu Shinian had already anticipated her move. He easily trapped her between his arms and the window ledge. Su Mu reached out to push him, but the sensation of his bare skin was enough to pull her hand back after just 0.1 seconds of contact.

However, in the next second, Fu Shinian grabbed her hand that hadn’t made it back to her side and held it tightly against his chest.

As Su Mu glared at him, trying to pull her hand away but unable to resist his strong grip, she said,

"Fu Shinian, let go of me!"

"What if I just don’t?" Fu Shinian looked down at Su Mu with a burning gaze, chuckling softly, "What are you going to do? Call your boyfriend? That’s right, the door is not closed, and he’s just in the next room. He’ll hear if you raise your voice a little and will definitely come. But have you considered that he can’t walk yet? If his worries about you being wronged here lead him to reopen his wounds, he may not be able to leave the hospital so quickly."
