Chapter 360: Chapter 360: Never Mention What Happened Before
This was a blatant threat, and Su Mu could certainly feel it. However, she couldn’t deny that Fu Shinian was right. Even for Wen Han’s injury, she couldn’t possibly make a scene, screaming and shouting for him to come over and help her. So, at this moment, with the balance of power so uneven, all she could do was glare at Fu Shinian:
"Let me go!"
Fu Shinian chuckled lightly:
"What are you shy about? This skin-to-skin contact, we’ve done it countless times three years ago, and we’ve done even more intimate things than this. You weren’t shy then but now resist, is it because we’re divorced?"
"It’s good that you recognize that we’re divorced," Su Mu said coldly, looking at him. "Mr. Fu graduated from a prestigious university; surely, you wouldn’t be unaware of what divorce means, right? To put it bluntly, there’s not much difference between us and strangers now. If we really have to say there’s some connection, it’s no different from being enemies. Do you think that under such a relationship, it’s right for you to make such frivolous moves on me?"
"No." Fu Shinian admitted cleanly. "I know many things are wrong, but I can’t control myself. What should I do?"
"You..."
Su Mu, unable to tolerate any further, wanted to burst out cursing, but Fu Shinian didn’t give her the chance. He withdrew one hand from the windowsill and quickly and efficiently clamped down on Su Mu’s chin with a bit of force, so much so that Su Mu’s lips, mid-speech, didn’t even manage to close. In the next second, Fu Shinian bent down and barged ungentlemanly into her mouth, conquering territory.
Su Mu never thought he could be so frivolous. For a second or two, she didn’t react. When she felt pain on her lips and realized that their lips were mingled, she felt nauseous out of nowhere and, without a second thought, began to push him. However, Fu Shinian stood in front of her immovable like a mountain.
She wanted to kick, but at some point, her legs were pinned down by him—he had anticipated any possible resistance.
Unable to push or kick, Su Mu thought of biting him, hoping to bite off a piece of his flesh, but it seemed like Fu Shinian had predicted this as well. Before she could act, the hand pinching her chin already exerted a bit more force, leaving Su Mu with no way out.
Unable to do anything, she could only let him continue with his liberties.
Slowly, Su Mu gave up resisting, and Fu Shinian kissed her more and more passionately until a tear from Su Mu rolled into their mingling lips, bringing a bitter taste that brought him slightly back to reality, and then he let go of her.
Looking at Su Mu, her eyes marred by tears, a pang of pain hit Fu Shinian’s heart. He realized that his actions just now were no different from a beast’s. He agreed with everything the old lady said to him tonight, that everything should be taken slowly, but after seeing Su Mu with Wen Han, he couldn’t control himself anymore. The only feeling he had was the desire to hold her tight in his arms, the desire to kiss her fiercely, as if only this could prove she was still his.
But the truth was, his actions only hurt her more deeply.
He wanted to say something, but before Fu Shinian could make a sound, Su Mu’s slap came hard, stopping all his words.
Fu Shinian’s head turned from the smack, his mouth corner staining with blood. But compared to the pain in his heart, the one on his face was nothing. Su Mu pushed him away and left the spot. Fu Shinian stood watching the dense night from the window for a few seconds, then turned back.
As he expected, Su Mu didn’t leave the ward, because she had taken his words seriously—she was genuinely afraid that Wen Han would run out injured to stand up for her.
Perhaps Su Mu cared about Wen Han far more than he had thought. He might have known it, but he had never been willing to admit it.
Actually, upon reflection, Su Mu wasn’t someone to act on impulse. Her decision to be with Wen Han must have been well-considered. The Su Mu from before truly would have taken similar actions to show gratitude, but after the injuries she suffered from his past actions, she wouldn’t do that anymore. So if she agreed to be with Wen Han, it was not out of gratitude but because she liked him to some extent.
Turning back and walking slowly towards Su Mu, he took a seat next to her and started to apologize:
"I’m sorry; I shouldn’t have done that to you."
Su Mu really wanted to keep silent and ignore his insincere apology, but she couldn’t suppress the anger in her heart and spoke directly:
"Wow, it’s rare that you apologize now. But it’s done, what’s the point of saying all this now? I don’t need it—just go away, there’s nothing for us to talk about."
Fu Shinian had come to talk to Su Mu about everything that had happened in the past three years. But now, with everything thrown into chaos, it seemed really inappropriate to say anything. After a few seconds of silence, he nodded:
"Alright, I’ll leave for now and come back to see you after a while."
"No need," Su Mu looked at him. "I quite like our status over these three years. I don’t see you, you don’t see me, and I don’t even care to hear any news. I don’t care what you’ve been through or whatever reason you had for those words that made me leave. If you’ve come to talk about those things, you don’t need to."
Fu Shinian listened to Su Mu finish, slightly tugging at the corner of his mouth in resignation. That’s right, those were just excuses, but the fact that he hurt her was real. Even if he told her, Su Mu wouldn’t forgive him based on those excuses, break up with Wen Han, and get back together with him.
"Okay," Fu Shinian replied softly. "I won’t say another word about it."
After saying this, he stood up from the sofa, picked up the shirt he had thrown aside earlier, and dressed at a leisurely pace. Su Mu caught a glimpse of his movements from the corner of her eye and let out a slight sigh of relief. She really didn’t want to continue staying in the same space with him.
Ending it sooner was a relief for her.
Once dressed, Fu Shinian looked deeply at Su Mu:
"The old lady is currently recovering. In a couple of days, I’d like to take Qiqi to see her. I..."
"Qiqi is not the child of the Fu family," Su Mu interrupted him almost desperately, her eyes cold and guarded.
Fu Shinian frowned at her words:
"I know better than anyone whose child she is; you don’t need to say these things to upset me."
"Upset you? Is there a need? Didn’t Mr. Fu also acknowledge that fact before? Or are you now going to contradict yourself? But no matter what you say, Qiqi is not a child of the Fu family. You cannot take her back to the Fu family on your own; otherwise..." Su Mu looked at him coldly. "I won’t let it go."
