Early that day, Wen Han arrived at Jiang Bei’s apartment and took Qiqi and Wen Shaoyuan away. Before leaving, she looked at Su Mu and smiled faintly:

"If you have time, you can call me, or call me if you encounter anything unhappy. Of course, I would prefer if we could have dinner together in the evening."

When Su Yimo heard this, she became interested and started hopping around on the floor:

"Are we going out to eat, what are we eating?"

Seeing the little one so excited, Wen Han bent down, picked her up, and held her close:

"Sorry, princess, but if Wood agrees to have dinner with me tonight, I didn’t plan to bring you two little tails along."

Wen Shaoyuan, who was standing aside, also laughed. It was clear that he was pleased with such a scene. Among the four people, only Su Mu was unsure how to react. She looked at Wen Han helplessly and said:

"I’ll try to finish early, but there might be a night scene."

"I can visit the set."

Su Mu smiled and saw them out the door.

Shortly after Wen Han left, Lin Ning called to say he had arrived at the apartment. Su Mu went downstairs and got into the car. Lin Ning glanced at Su Mu sitting in the passenger seat and asked with concern:

"Su Mu, you don’t look well."

Su Mu smiled:

"No, it’s probably just the stuffy weather."

"It is a bit hot today, I’ll prepare some heatstroke prevention medicine just in case."

Su Mu responded softly and then asked:

"Have the others all gone over?"

"Yes, they arrived half an hour ago, but the client hasn’t arrived yet, Lingling and the others are still waiting."

Su Mu looked at the time. She had coordinated over the phone with Lin Ning and the others beforehand that the shooting was scheduled to start at 9 AM. This meant that Xu Yansu and Fu Shinian were supposed to arrive at the shooting location at 7 AM for makeup and styling, but now it was already 8:30 AM.

Su Mu had previously proposed three shooting plans, and Xu Yansu had settled on the second option, which included a wild black and white theme, a youthful campus bridal style, and a beautifully romantic sweet style. Xu Yansu said she wanted to try more possibilities with her fiancé.

They were to shoot the wild style first today. The location had been checked by the staff beforehand. It was an abandoned warehouse that had been set up since yesterday. When Su Mu entered the warehouse, she first walked around the prepared set—it was all fine and matched the design drawings.

At this moment, makeup artist Lisa approached:

"Su Mu, it’s almost 9 AM, and the clients haven’t arrived yet. We’ve arranged with the school to shoot from 1 PM to 6 PM. Even if the clients arrive now, it might be noon by the time we finish shooting in the warehouse. If we don’t eat and rush to the school, I’m afraid we can’t complete the shoot by 6 PM. What should we do?"

Su Mu smiled:

"No worries, I’ll handle it."

After saying that, she looked to Lin Ning, "Contact them again and see what’s going on."

"Okay."

After Lin Ning made the call, Su Mu called over the stage manager Sun Le:

"Once Lin Ning confirms the time, you contact the school again and see if we can reschedule for tomorrow. It’s summer vacation now and students aren’t taking classes. There shouldn’t be an issue, but if anything unexpected arises, you handle it."

"All right."

When Lin Ning returned, Su Mu was sitting in a resting chair cleaning her camera. Sitting beside Su Mu, Lin Ning spoke:

"They said they’re running late because of some issues."

"Mhm," Su Mu replied absentmindedly, "When can they get here?"

"Half an hour, they just left."

Su Mu glanced at the time and replied nonchalantly, then Lin Ning continued:

"They said to save time, they won’t shoot the indoor scenes in the studio."

Su Mu stopped cleaning her camera and looked up at Lin Ning, her expression filled with displeasure, "They won’t shoot?"

Lin Ning understood the reason for Su Mu’s anger. Initially, they had agreed with Xu Yansu to shoot the wild style first, and then go to the school for the outdoor scenes. Thus, from yesterday to now, the entire team had been busy preparing the set, connecting the power, and setting up the equipment. Now, with everything ready and the whole team waiting, the other party simply said they wouldn’t shoot, making all the efforts in vain.

"Yes, they won’t shoot."

"Why? Did you tell them that we specially built this set for them?"

"I did, but..."

Su Mu got up from the resting chair:

"Give me the phone, I’ll call."

Lin Ning hesitated for a moment but eventually handed the phone to Su Mu. She called back the most recent number and walked outside the warehouse. Expecting the call to be from Xu Yansu, she was surprised when a voice she hadn’t heard in three years sounded the moment she spoke. Su Mu suddenly stopped in her tracks.

"Hello?"

Su Mu didn’t speak, and the other party didn’t say anything further, seemingly knowing who was on the other end of the call.

After a long silence, Fu Shinian spoke softly:

"Did our recent decision cause any trouble for you?"

Fu Shinian’s words briefly brought Su Mu back to her senses. She steadied her breath and then spoke:

"Before setting up this scene, our staff confirmed with you several times, and you said there were no problems. Now everything is set up, and the equipment is ready. We have spent two whole days on this, and our entire team is waiting here for you, but now you say you won’t shoot?"

"We said we wouldn’t shoot because we delayed and wanted to catch up so as not to hold you up for too long. But now that you’ve mentioned it, and seeing as you’ve put in so much effort, it does seem inappropriate to cancel. We’ll come over now."

Su Mu quietly listened to him finish, then responded:

"Okay."

After hanging up, Su Mu stood still for a few seconds, lost in thought, until Lin Ning approached and called out softly, "Su Mu?"

Regaining her composure, Su Mu handed the phone back to Lin Ning, "They’ll be here soon, let’s start preparing."

"Okay." Lin Ning replied but didn’t move away, "Su Mu, are you really okay? You look worse."

"I’m fine, don’t worry."

Lin Ning nodded, still unconvinced, but left anyway.

When Fu Shinian and Xu Yansu entered the photography studio, Su Mu was standing in a corner on the phone with Su Yimo. Sensing a gaze upon her, she instinctively turned around and locked eyes with Fu Shinian for just a second.

She looked at him for a few seconds, then turned away and finished the call, walking over with a slight smile at the two people in front of her:

"Hello, I’m your photographer for today, Su Mu."
