Chapter 250: Chapter 250: Do You Have to Say Something Disgusting?
Seeing that Su Mu’s clothes were also stained, Wei Shaoqin immediately got angry, but Su Mu gently stopped him. She looked down at her dirty clothes and slowly began to speak:
"Hold on a moment."
Lily and Sisi halted their steps, and Su Mu’s calm voice came from behind:
"You have forgiven my friend’s rudeness, which is indeed a good thing. Now, shouldn’t we address the issue of my clothes? After all, it’s cold outside and I’m only wearing this. I didn’t bring a spare. Who among you is going to pay for this?"
Initially, Wei Shaoqin was still not confident that she would be able to handle it, but seeing Su Mu’s demeanor, he felt reassured. How could he forget? The woman beside him, although seeming fragile, was definitely not someone who could be easily bullied, not even he could gain the upper hand over her.
Lily was silent for a few seconds, then turned back to face Su Mu:
"Since this lady can afford a 300,000-yuan piece of clothing, there must be quite a few servants at her home, right? Why not call a servant to bring a change of clothes?"
"That’s possible," Su Mu nodded. "What I wear walking out of here today isn’t what concerns me, but what about the clothing on the ground?"
"Shall we take it to get dry-cleaned for you?"
Su Mu looked down contemplatively. The silk down jacket was a prize from the last time Fu Shinian, having mistakenly taken some medicine, reserved the entire mall to go on a shopping spree with her. It was the first time she wore it, but unexpectedly, it would also be the last. The dirt on the fabric might be treatable, but the material damaged by the heel was probably beyond repair.
"I’m afraid that won’t do."
"Then what do you suggest?" Sisi couldn’t help but blurt out, "You claim this coat costs 300,000, just like that? Who knows if it’s a counterfeit? If you really could afford a 300,000-yuan piece of clothing, why have I never seen you in our circles?"
Su Mu looked at her with a light smile:
"Since when has my identity needed your recognition to be valid?"
"It’s not just me; Lily hasn’t seen you either."
Su Mu’s gaze casually drifted towards the slightly flustered Lily: "Now, I’m quite curious about what exactly this ’circle’ of yours is."
"Anyway, it’s a circle you can’t enter."
"It all depends on whether I want to enter."
Ji Nanfeng entered the scene at this moment. He had originally wanted to find a quiet place to make a call, but unexpectedly walked into a scene of intense confrontation. He had intended to make a mocking remark, but his frowned upon seeing the strawberry marks on Su Mu’s body, put away his phone, and walked over. When he saw the down jacket thrown on the ground, he visibly darkened, recognizing it as the one Su Mu had worn that day.
"What’s going on?"
Ji Nanfeng’s arrival was unexpected for Lily and Sisi. They were too flustered to clarify first but before they could speak, Ji Nanfeng swiftly slapped them twice, the force immense. Caught off guard, they fell to the ground, crushing a few more strawberries. Su Mu watched and let out a long sigh: Poor strawberries.
Wei Shaoqin, seeing Su Mu’s expression, couldn’t help but laugh. What she cared about, after all, were just the strawberries, right?
Ji Nanfeng didn’t see this scene, he just felt that these two women were troublesome indeed. Struggling to her feet, Sisi, with a swollen half of her face, complained:
"Third Master, this woman called us dirty and said we..."
"Was she wrong?" Ji Nanfeng’s glare interrupted her, "Aren’t you dirty? Don’t think that being brought here makes you high-class socialites. Don’t you know how many men you’ve been with?"
The moment Ji Nanfeng spoke these words, both of them bowed their heads, no longer daring to speak, while Su Mu looked at the scene with a faint smile:
"Third Master Ji, everyone says you’ve seen countless people and have extremely high standards. Today, seeing you in person, you truly are extraordinary."
Ji Nanfeng’s eyes twitched, his ability to insult without using profanity was completely learned from Fu Shinian. Looking at Su Mu, he felt utterly helpless and decided to negotiate with her:
"How about we don’t let Shinian know about this?"
Su Mu looked toward the exit of the greenhouse, "It’s too late."
Following her gaze, Ji Nanfeng indeed saw Fu Shinian appearing at the doorway. He inwardly groaned, knowing that he couldn’t hide it any longer, and subtly shifted to the side to make way.
Fu Shinian had just wanted to check on Su Mu, considering she had been in there for so long and should have been done picking, but unexpectedly, not only were Su Mu and Wei Shaoqin inside, there was also another person, and the scene was terribly tense. At first, he was just puzzled, but after Ji Nanfeng moved aside, when Fu Shinian saw the dirt on Su Mu’s clothes, his brow furrowed instinctively, and he quickly walked over.
He examined Su Mu from front to back, making sure that aside from the dirt on the surface, there were no other injuries on her body. Only then did his hanging heart slowly settle down, but upon seeing the down jacket on the ground, his expression could no longer be described as merely ’ugly’.
In the astonished gazes of Lily and Sisi, he took off his own coat and draped it over Su Mu’s shoulders, then finally turned to look at the main culprits. With just one glance, he roughly understood what had happened. Yet, he didn’t trouble Lily and Sisi, instead, he looked at Ji Nanfeng:
"You really are regressing, to think you could stomach such trash."
Ji Nanfeng inwardly cried out, but he could only accept the blame:
"It’s my fault, I shouldn’t have called such trash here, and I certainly shouldn’t have disturbed Mrs. Fu’s peace. Now I only ask our madam to decide how to deal with this."
This statement caused Sisi’s face to turn pale in shock: "Mrs. Fu?"
Lily discreetly increased the distance between herself and Sisi, scoffing. Regardless of the superficiality of their relationship, even if it were as solid as gold, she would have no reason to offend both Fu Shinian and Ji Nanfeng for the sake of sisterhood.
Watching the two of them, Ji Nanfeng laughed coldly:
"What? Surprised that the seemingly gentle and defenseless little bunny turns out to be Mrs. Fu? Are your eyes just for show? This is my private property, not some public Strawberry Garden; did you think just anyone could come here?"
Su Mu blinked and spoke out:
"Can you really blame them, though? After all, they just said they hadn’t seen me in their circles and thought my clothes were knock-offs. Maybe in their eyes, I’m just a strawberry-picking worker."
Ji Nanfeng smiled faintly, which sounded conciliatory, but was actually fanning the flames, wasn’t it?
Fu Shinian, not knowing what to think, remained silent, but it was Su Mu who smilingly asked him a question,
"Did you drink any alcohol earlier?"
"I drove here, why would I drink?"
"That’s good." Su Mu looked at Sisi: "Someone wanted to climb into Mr. Fu’s bed and had prepared some interesting stuff."
Fu Shinian frowned even more, but he didn’t look at the so-called ’someone’ and instead frowned at Su Mu:
"Do you really have to say it and disgust me?"
Su Mu held back her laughter:
"Just a reminder."
