Chapter 248: Chapter 248: Did You Forget to Take Your Medicine?

"I’m not interested in the places you’re going to," Fu Shinian said as he sat down next to Su Mu, took an orange from the fruit plate and offered it to her. Su Mu gently shook her head, and he put it back.

Ji Nanfeng watched their interaction, thinking he must be seeing things:

"I haven’t even said where I’m going, and you’re already saying you’re not interested?"

"What good places could there be where you’re going?"

"What do you mean? What’s wrong with the places I go to? You despise them just like that?" Ji Nanfeng angrily looked at Fu Shinian, "The place I’m going to today, Su Mu might want to go too. Will you still not go? If you do, don’t blame me for looking down on you."

Ji Nanfeng’s words made Qiao Yu start laughing:

"Are you joking? The places you go, Su Mu would be happy to go?"

Ji Nanfeng, not wanting to talk to these people who lacked elegant taste, directly turned to Su Mu, "I plan to go to the Strawberry Garden in the suburbs to pick strawberries this afternoon. Do you want to go?"

Su Mu hadn’t been listening to their conversation, but when Ji Nanfeng mentioned "Strawberry Garden," she couldn’t help but look up. Fu Shinian noticed her interest and asked:

"Want to go?"

Ji Nanfeng looked disdainfully at Fu Shinian, "Whether Su Mu wants to go is her business, it has nothing to do with you."

Su Mu smiled slightly:

"Today is the first day of the new year, can we even get into the strawberry garden?"

"Yes, it’s our own place. My brother-in-law planted it to please my sister. Actually, she can’t eat that much by herself, so she encourages our relatives and friends to help her eat them. If you want to go, we can go anytime."

Su Mu didn’t say anything, and Fu Shinian answered for her:

"Then we’ll go there this afternoon."

After lunch, several people set out for the Strawberry Garden. They had just left the old house when they bumped into Wei Shaoqin’s car. Su Mu didn’t notice, but Fu Shinian still stopped the car. Su Mu, realizing later, looked at Fu Shinian, who simply stated:

"It’s Wei Shaoqin."

Su Mu got out of the car, and Wei Shaoqin also opened his door and got out:

"Going out?"

Su Mu nodded, "Why are you here?"

"Isn’t it New Year? Of course, I’ve come to give my New Year’s greetings."

Su Mu smiled faintly, "To give me New Year’s greetings?"

"You wish. Not to mention our generational difference, you’re not even older than me. You want me to give you New Year’s greetings? You really dare to say it," Wei Shaoqin looked at her. "I’m here to see the old lady."

The truth was, Wei Shaoqin had only met the old lady twice, and the Wei family had no business dealings with the Fu family, even some hostility. Logically, he had no reason to come and give New Year’s greetings to the old lady, but he came, a reason both Su Mu and Fu Shinian were aware of.

When Su Mu was about to invite him in, Fu Shinian opened his car door and stepped out. Su Mu momentarily tensed up, Fu Shinian naturally knew why she felt this way and casually greeted Wei Shaoqin:

"Since you’re here for New Year’s greetings, come on in."

After saying that, he patted Su Mu’s shoulder:

"You lead him in. I’ll talk to Nanfeng and Qiao Yu for a moment."

Su Mu breathed a sigh of relief and nodded to Fu Shinian, "Okay."

As Su Mu and Wei Shaoqin entered the house, the grandmother was just about to go back to her room to rest. Seeing Su Mu come back, she initially thought Fu Shinian might have upset Su Mu again and was about to ask when she saw Wei Shaoqin behind her. Although surprised, she still smiled, and Su Mu introduced him:

"Grandma, Wei Shaoqin is here to give you New Year’s greetings."

Wei Shaoqin said a few auspicious words, and the old lady was even happier, directly inviting Wei Shaoqin to sit, but Wei Shaoqin declined:

"No need, Grandma, I have things to take care of at home and I need to leave soon."

Although he was a bit clueless, he could tell that the old lady was just about to rest, and both Su Mu and Fu Shinian were also ready to leave. If he had stayed any longer, it might have seemed a bit unaware. The old lady said a few words to persuade him to stay, but Wei Shaoqin insisted, and Su Mu did not force him, not until Fu Shinian entered the room:

"Why are you leaving so soon?"

"There’s something at home."

Fu Shinian nodded, "Then Su Mu and I will see you out."

After saying goodbye to the old lady, they left the house and before getting into the car, Fu Shinian looked at Wei Shaoqin:

"Junior President Wei, if you don’t have plans this afternoon, you could join us at the Strawberry Garden."

Wei Shaoqin was surprised, and even Su Mu hadn’t expected Fu Shinian to say such a thing, inevitably looking up at him. Noticing Su Mu’s gaze, Fu Shinian smiled slightly, "What?"

Su Mu shook her head, looking at Wei Shaoqin:

"I know you’re free this afternoon, why don’t you come with us?"

Wei Shaoqin was about to decline, but, as if possessed, he ended up agreeing.

When they arrived at the Strawberry Garden, Ji Nanfeng and Qiao Yu were already there. Seeing the scene before her, Su Mu knew she shouldn’t have trusted Ji Nanfeng’s words, but to some extent, she admired him. After all, he had managed to turn the Strawberry Garden into a nightclub effect. Since the garden only had one small room for employees to rest and work, Ji Nanfeng had moved the event out to the open courtyard. Tall, beautiful women danced to the music, their revealing attire made Su Mu, dressed in a down jacket, shiver, but they seemed not to mind the cold at all.

Although Fu Shinian knew Ji Nanfeng wouldn’t just come to pick strawberries, he hadn’t expected him to create such an effect. Looking at Su Mu:

"If you don’t like it, we can leave now."

"No need," Su Mu smiled lightly, "I’ll just pick some strawberries later."

As for the people here, they had nothing to do with her.

Fu Shinian wanted to accompany her, but Su Mu refused. She couldn’t imagine a man like Fu Shinian picking strawberries with a basket, "I’ll go by myself."

Wei Shaoqin: "I’ll come with you."

Seeing Su Mu glance at the women on the ground, she half-smiled:

"That’s your turf, isn’t it?"

"I don’t like women who catch rheumatism."

He indeed preferred sexy women and enjoyed flirting with them, but in this temperature, he didn’t find it appealing.

An employee handed Su Mu a basket, which Wei Shaoqin quickly took from her hands, "Let me hold that for you."

"Aren’t you going to pick?"

"This sort of women’s work, do you think I do that?"

Su Mu: "...Then why did you come along?"

They entered the strawberry greenhouse, and Su Mu instantly felt too warm, so she took off her down jacket, about to drape it over her arm, but Wei Shaoqin snatched it away. Seeing Su Mu’s somewhat surprised expression, Wei Shaoqin calmly:

"What? Do you feel bad having such an outrageously handsome guy as your errand boy?"

Su Mu: "Did you forget your medication?"

Wei Shaoqin glared at her, too lazy to say anything, and just walked on ahead.

Su Mu and Wei Shaoqin continued to pick as they walked, and when they hadn’t even picked a few strawberries yet, two more people came into the greenhouse. Su Mu and Wei Shaoqin couldn’t help but look back; it was two of the women who had been dancing in the courtyard earlier, talking about topics related to Ji Nanfeng without any regard for Su Mu and Wei Shaoqin being there.
