Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 247: Looking For Kane

Chapter 247: Chapter 247: Looking For Kane

After that, no matter what Chantelle sent, Kane didn’t reply.

On top of that, he had turned off the tracker she set up. She had no way to find him now.

"Don’t worry," Daniel said as he drove with one hand. "I’ll have my men check the cameras near the school. We’ll find him soon." He reached out with his free hand, trying to hold Chantelle’s hand.

But Chantelle pulled her hand away.

"Let’s go back to Western Hill Villa first."

Even though Kane was a mischievous little rascal, she knew he wouldn’t do anything that would really make her worry. So even if she didn’t know what he was up to, she trusted that he had made sure he was safe.

Daniel told his men to start checking the surveillance cameras to find Kane.

He knew it was his fault Chantelle missed picking Kane up. He had stopped her on the road earlier.

Feeling guilty, he quickly told Ashton to start searching right away. He just wanted to make sure Kane was safe.

Soon, Ashton sent an update. Kane was at a hotel and completely safe.

But Ashton didn’t mention that Kane and his sister had nearly turned the place upside down the moment they saw each other.

It looked like they had gotten into a fight.

"Ashton found Kane. My men are with him. He’s safe," Daniel said as he pulled up in front of Western Hill Villa.

Chantelle got out of the car and nodded, "Make sure he’s sent back after three hours."

Chantelle didn’t ask where Kane was. She knew the little rascal just needed some space now and then. She also trusted that Daniel’s men wouldn’t bother him.

"Chantelle."

She had just turned to walk toward the villa when Daniel suddenly called out to her.

Daniel stared at her, mesmerized by how stunning she looked under the soft glow of the lamppost.

Suddenly, Daniel said with full conviction, "No matter what, we will always be husband and wife."

What he meant was clear. Even if she had been with someone else during those six years, he wouldn’t question it. He still loved her, just like before.

Chantelle’s eyes sparkled, and a charming smile slowly formed on her lips.

"Mr. Wilson, saying sweet things too often makes them lose their charm," she teased.

Daniel’s lips lifted in a soft smile. "Nothing in the world compares to your smile."

His smile was charming and pure like the peaceful view of a snowy mountain. It was hard to look away.

Meanwhile, at Sunshine Villa, Camille finally felt relieved. The pressure she had carried for days had lifted.

The ghostwriters she hired had launched a full smear campaign against Nadine. Now, whenever people saw Nadine’s name online, they thought of sugar daddies and ugly rumors. Nothing good.

She couldn’t believe someone with such a bad image could still keep the Ambassador for Philanthropy award.

"Ms. Nelsen, you’ll get the award because Mr. Nelsen pulled some strings. Sadly, we can’t target that little brat in the association right now. Mr. Wilson is backing her. We can’t touch her for the time being."

Anthony could read the mood well. Since he knew Camille hated Chantelle, he made sure to insult her.

"She’s just a low-class nobody. I could crush her with no effort. Once Daniel sees who she really is, he’ll stop falling for her lies."

Camille’s face twisted with a dark, nasty look. Daniel was hers. No one else had the right to take him away.

Anyone who dared to take what was hers would pay the price. And that price was death.

"Didn’t Mr. Nelsen say he’d take you to meet her at the Rotating Restaurant tonight?" Anthony asked, hinting at something. "He’s always favored you. Maybe he’s setting things up so she ends up apologizing to you in front of everyone."

Camille immediately understood and replied with excitement, "If Daniel sees her humiliated, he’ll be disgusted with her."

"Why stop at just making her look bad?" Anthony said. "We should destroy her completely. If we don’t, she might bounce back and stab us later."

"What do you have in mind?" Camille asked, unable to hide her hate. If Daniel wasn’t involved, she would’ve already sent someone to deal with Chantelle.

Now that she had a chance to turn Daniel against Chantelle, Camille wasn’t going to waste it.

"Ms. Nelsen, you know she must’ve crawled into Mr. Wilson’s bed just to trap him into marriage. Her reputation’s already a mess. A woman like her, always acting flirty, probably fools around with other men too, don’t you think?"

Anthony gave a crooked, sleazy smile.

When Camille heard Anthony, she paused. "Chantelle may be a bitch, but she doesn’t seem like the kind who sleeps around."

Anthony replied calmly, "Ms. Nelsen, you’re too naive. Leave it to me. I promise you’ll get the result you want."

"Fine. As long as you can take care of it, I’ll make sure you’re rewarded."

Camille didn’t ask for details. She was used to getting her way and only cared about the outcome.

At the Western Hill Villa, Chantelle got dressed. She wore a long, elegant gown, added some light makeup, and curled her hair into soft waves.

Then she left with Calvin.

She was heading to meet Rowan.

He had worked hard to dig into the Charity Association’s accounts just to defend Camille.

Chantelle wanted to face them and see their embarrassed expressions herself. She’d been holding back her anger for too long.

"Ms. Chantelle, Camille hired ghostwriters to post nasty things about you and Nadine. The rumors have been spreading online all afternoon. Do you want to reveal who Nadine really is?" Calvin asked her.

Chantelle opened her social media and saw a flood of nasty headlines and comments about her and Nadine.

"Where did Nadine even come from? How did she suddenly become the Ambassador for Philanthropy? That title should’ve given to Camille!"

"They say Nadine has sugar daddies backing her. She’s not fit to represent the Charity Association. She’s just a puppet for the rich."

"People claim she was in the prostitution scene since she was a teen. Her sponsors are all over the country."

"Seriously? Has the Charity Association fallen this low? Do they just follow the money now without caring about anything else?"

"You’re right! The Charity Association used to stand for something. Now, it’s just a hollow name where women like her do whatever they want."

"I mean, their chairman is Chantelle, someone known for sleeping around. What kind of example is that? The whole group is probably rotten from the top."
