Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback -
Chapter 236: I’m Coming With You
Chapter 236: Chapter 236: I’m Coming With You
"Ms. Nelsen, I think you forgot something. That ’hateful woman’ you mentioned is my wife. And that ’punk’ is my son. You’re insulting both of them. What exactly are you trying to do?"
"Or do you think the Wilson family is easy to mess with?"
"I didn’t mean it like that, Daniel. I just don’t want you to be fooled," Camille said, looking lost.
She didn’t understand him at all.
He never liked Chantelle before so why was he defending her now?
Chantelle must have drugged Daniel or done something to mess with his head.
Disgusting.
"Fooled? Haha. I’d be excited if my wife ever tried to fool me," Daniel said with a mocking tone.
"Daniel, she must’ve done something to you! Don’t worry, I’ll help you," Camille said, clenching her teeth in annoyance.
Daniel was completely fed up with her twisted view of Chantelle.
"Ms. Nelsen, please go. I need to rest."
Daniel waved his hand, telling her to leave.
"I don’t want to go, Daniel. I won’t let Chantelle come near you. You rest, I’ll stay and watch over you!"
Camille refused to leave. Just as Daniel tried to push her away, Ashton rushed into the room.
"I’m here, Sir."
When Ashton saw Camille in the room, he immediately understood why Daniel was so upset.
"Ashton, where are Chantelle and Kane?"
"Mrs. Wilson and Kane went to Yellar Kindergarten this morning for the school opening ceremony."
"What time does it start?"
Today was the first day of school at Yellar Kindergarten. Daniel had forgotten because he wasn’t feeling well.
Once he pulled himself together, Daniel quickly checked the time.
It was already 9:30.
He wasn’t sure if he could still make it.
"10:00 a.m.," Ashton answered.
"Get the car. We’re going to Yellar," Daniel ordered.
"Sir, you haven’t fully recovered yet. Dr. Jones said you still need two more bottles of anti-allergy shots."
"It’s my son’s school opening. I have to be there. Why are you talking so much nonsense lately?"
"But Mrs. Wilson said you can’t go home tonight if you don’t finish your shots," Ashton replied, feeling a little helpless.
Even so, he still had the courage to remind Daniel.
It was a special instruction from Mrs. Wilson before she took Kane out.
Knowing Chantelle gave that order just for him warmed Daniel’s heart. It lifted his mood.
She could be tough, but she still cared about me.
"Bring the medicine. I’ll take it in the car," Daniel said firmly.
"Huh?" Ashton was surprised but figured it could work.
After all, it was important for Sir to be at Kane’s school opening. He had no reason to stop him.
"Sir, I think it’s better if you bring some breakfast. You need to eat before the IV drips. It’s better for your body."
"That’s right, Daniel. Listen to Ashton. You should eat something. I’ll go with you too. I can help with the IV and maybe even carry the drip bottle."
Camille stood there, clearly unhappy as she watched Daniel care so much about Kane’s school opening. But she wasn’t going to miss a chance to be with him. Even if she didn’t like the idea, she still chose to go with him.
"Throw it away."
"Huh? Sir, Mrs. Wilson bought it. She got it just for you!"
"Chantelle bought it?"
"Yes. She went to a famous restaurant and even lined up early this morning to get it."
"Then bring it. I want to eat it."
Daniel quickly changed his mind.
A cheerful grin appeared on his face, and it shocked everyone around him.
"Okay!" Ashton said happily as he grabbed the breakfast and followed Daniel out of the room.
At this point, Ashton was sure that Daniel would do anything Mrs. Wilson told him to.
Mrs. Wilson was really something else!
But Camille, standing off to the side, was upset. She felt completely ignored.
What was so special about a sandwich and congee?
Chantelle, that bitch, really knew how to win someone’s heart!
"Wait for me, Daniel! I’m coming with you!"
Trying to act normal again, Camille rushed after him. But her heels were too high. She tripped on the doorstep and fell flat on her face. Her lip swelled up right away.
Daniel’s heart was only for Chantelle. He didn’t care at all that Camille had fallen.
He even thought the loud noise was thunder. He walked faster, worried his wife might get caught in the rain.
At first, Camille thought Daniel would help her up. But instead, he picked up his pace.
She blamed it all on Chantelle, that witch. She must have turned Daniel against me.
"Daniel, don’t leave me behind!" she shouted.
Camille was in a terrible mood. She stood up, limped after Daniel, and later flagged down a car to follow his.
It was 9:55 a.m. on the dot. Chantelle had just taken a picture of Kane raising the flag on stage when she suddenly felt a warm hand touch her waist.
Startled, she quickly pulled back her elbow to attack the intruder.
But then a familiar voice whispered in her ear, "My wife, are you trying to kill your husband?"
Chantelle turned around and saw Daniel. His face was pale, and he looked like he was in pain. Sweat covered his forehead.
Remembering his stomach injury, she hurriedly unbuttoned his shirt to check if the wound had reopened.
"What are you doing here?"
Daniel took the chance to pull her into his arms. He leaned closer to her ear and said, "I missed you, my wife."
"Let me go, Daniel." Chantelle didn’t dare fight back. She was afraid she might hurt his wound. She didn’t even raise her voice, not wanting to attract attention from the other parents.
Daniel smiled, kissed her cheek, then took the camera from her hand. He quickly snapped a photo of her.
In the picture, her eyes sparkled and her cheeks were slightly pink—she looked stunning.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Kane ran toward them as the flag went up.
"Mommy, did you get a picture of me looking cool?"
Before Kane went on stage, he had asked Mommy to take a photo of him looking brave while raising the flag. He had dreamed of it ever since watching a military parade on TV. It was the main reason he was excited about the kindergarten opening ceremony.
But after checking the camera carefully, Kane couldn’t find the photo. His eyes narrowed as he looked at Daniel.
"Ahem, I’ll take the picture for you next time," Daniel said quickly.
"Oh, so Mommy and Daddy are the real love story, and I’m just the extra," Kane grumbled, pouting.
