Chapter 214: Chapter 214: The Nelsen Family

Chantelle texted back, "The first thing I saw when I woke up was your gossip. Don’t tell me you’ve fallen for Philip! Why not confess to him immediately?"

After hitting send, she picked out an outfit from her wardrobe and got dressed.

Thea replied quickly, "What nonsense are you saying? I just don’t want my favorite couple to break up so soon! How can I stay calm knowing about it? Imagine if Daniel finds out Philip sneaks out at midnight to mess around. Wouldn’t he be mad?"

Chantelle started to type, "Hey, about that, Thea, they don’t actually..."

She meant to explain that Daniel and Philip weren’t like that.

But before she could finish, her eyes landed on the scene downstairs.

Philip had his arm around Daniel’s shoulder, acting all friendly as they both got into the car.

He looked like he was trying hard to impress him.

It was a wild sight. She’d be a fool not to save it for future gossip.

Chantelle quickly took a photo of their backs and sent it to Thea.

The moment Thea saw the photo, she freaked out with excitement.

She texted back, screaming through her words, "What did I just see? I told you! The couple I ship is still going strong!"

Chantelle replied, "Looks like Philip showed up at my place last night. So there’s nothing to worry about that he was having an illicit affair. Can I go back to sleep now?"

Thea shot back, "I never said I was worried about him. Not even a little! I’m just here to support this couple, okay?"

Chantelle replied, "I’m done arguing with your stubbornness."

Thea didn’t reply anymore.

Even though they were only texting, Chantelle could imagine Thea rolling on her bed in embarrassment.

She shook her head with a small smile.

Just as she was about to set her phone down and have breakfast, a call came in.

It was Calvin.

"Ms. Chantelle, we need to visit the association today. I’ll be at the Western Hill Villa in about ten minutes..."

Only after hearing Calvin’s words did Chantelle remember the appointment she had made earlier.

She rushed upstairs and quickly changed her clothes.

The reason for today’s visit was the Global Charity Banquet that Kate had messed up a month ago.

After some discussions, the management decided to hold the event again next week.

They had already submitted the nominees for the Ambassador for Philanthropy of Easthan.

Even though the previous incident didn’t cause real damage, it still left a bad impression on the association.

To show their sincerity and how important this event was, the association invited Chantelle to be one of the judges for the Ambassador for Philanthropy of Easthan award.

Chantelle agreed with their decision.

She had asked Calvin to arrange their schedule and made an appointment to visit the association office.

They were supposed to review the nominees’ profiles.

With everything that had happened lately, it was no surprise she forgot about it.

Thankfully, Calvin reminded her. Otherwise, things might mess up again.

As that thought crossed her mind, Calvin’s car pulled up in front of her.

Calvin stepped out of the car and opened the door for Chantelle.

She got in, and he quickly went around to the driver’s seat.

As he started the engine, he handed her a document.

"Ms. Chantelle, this is the application from people who want to join the association. I just received it. I think you should take a look at it."

"Is there something special about it?" Chantelle asked as she took the document.

The rules for joining the Charity Association were always clear.

Anyone who met the requirements could apply.

Even though she was the chairman, she usually didn’t look into every application.

She only stepped in if something unusual came up or if someone asked her to.

"You’ll understand once you read it, Ms. Chantelle," Calvin said, keeping things vague.

Chantelle opened the file.

Her eyes landed on the photo attached to the form.

Right away, something about it felt familiar.

The longer she looked at the photo, the more anxious she felt.

"Rowan Nelsen? Is he from the Nelsen family that runs the top oriental conglomerate in Doskoustein?"

"That’s him," Calvin confirmed.

"Hasn’t he always looked down on us? Why is he reaching out now? Could someone in our association have earned the Nelsen family’s respect?"

Chantelle kept staring at the photo.

The man looked mature and carried a strong sense of charm.

She couldn’t help but admire him.

"The Nelsen family’s only daughter, Camille, is coming back to the country," Calvin said. "She has their full support, and she’s also one of the nominees for the Ambassador for Philanthropy of Easthan."

"So basically, the Nelsen family is backing her all the way now that she’s back?" Chantelle asked.

"Yeah, that’s right. Rowan is said to be her older brother."

"I heard Camille was missing for years," Chantelle mumbled. "She only reunited with the family not long ago. That must be why they spoil her. And to build her public image, she’s diving into charity."

"In just a few years," Calvin added, "with their support, she’s already won philanthropy awards in other countries. Easthan might just be her next target."

He explained everything he had found out.

Chantelle sat quietly, thinking it over.

She had to admit, she felt a little jealous of someone like Camille.

Being rich was one thing, but being loved that much was another.

"Not bad," she said. "The Nelsen family holds a lot of power. Their presence could really help push our charity work forward. That’s good news. But still, with all the wealth and talent they have, why would their only daughter choose to return and continue her career here?"

"I looked into it but didn’t find much. I heard it might be related to her marriage." Calvin replied.

"Oh?" Chantelle raised a brow and a smile tugged at her lips.

"Well, that’s going to be something worth remembering," she said, already imagining the noise such a marriage would cause.

She was itching to find out who the lucky man was. The one rumored to be marrying the only daughter of such a powerful family.

Chantelle let out a soft sigh as her eyes dropped to Camille Nelsen’s profile, listed just below Rowan’s.

Camille had a gentle, elegant beauty. There was no doubt she was stunning.

Compared to Kate, Camille really carried the look of a Philanthropy Ambassador.

Thoughts filled Chantelle’s mind as she flipped to the next page.

Then she stopped and her eyes widened.
