Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 210: That Felt Amazing!

Chapter 210: Chapter 210: That Felt Amazing!

Mr. Charles couldn’t help but smile. But before he could say anything, the usually cold Daniel actually opened his mouth without a fuss.

"This stuff is really bitter... Can I just take one sip?" Daniel tried to bargain.

"It’s good for you. Finish it, and I’ll give you candy after you drink this one," Chantelle said patiently, feeding him spoon by spoon.

The medicine tasted awful but Daniel didn’t say anything.

Chantelle was being soft with him, and he quietly did what she said.

"Okay."

Mr. Charles was shocked. He had never seen Mr. Wilson obey this way.

It was like he had turned into a new person.

Thinking ahead, Mr. Charles went to the kitchen to get some candy.

Just as she finished feeding him, Mr. Charles came back with the candy. Chantelle quickly popped one into Daniel’s mouth.

"Great job! You finished it. Here, have a candy..."

She felt proud for getting him to take the medicine.

Sometimes, Daniel could be really well-behaved.Just like Kane when he was little!

Chantelle yawned as the thought crossed her mind.

Feeling sleepy, she headed upstairs without waiting to hear Daniel’s "bedtime stories" about their family secrets.

It didn’t seem like the medicine tasted bitter to him after all.

When it came from Chantelle, even bitter things seemed sweet.

Mr. Charles quickly cleared the empty bowl and noticed Daniel still sitting on the sofa, looking a little lost.

He smiled and said, "Sir, you look different."

"Oh? What’s different?"

"You smiled... like you’ve finally found hope in your life."

"What was once lost has come back. I can see the happiness in your eyes. When Mrs. Wilson is with you, you seem really at peace."

Mr. Charles had watched Daniel grow up. Now that he saw him looking happier, he couldn’t help but feel happy too. Even if it felt like he was saying too much, he still spoke from the heart.

"Is it that obvious?" Daniel glanced at him and asked.

"Yes, it is."

"Mr. Daniel, you once said that after she left, your world felt like an endless abyss. Do you feel like you’ve found your atonement now?"

"Yes, I’ve found it, Mr. Charles. I finally found it."

Daniel’s joy showed clearly on his face. He looked at Mr. Charles and smiled without holding back.

His heart felt warm too.

"The world doesn’t always give second chances. You need to treasure this one."

"Of course. This time, I won’t let Chantie suffer again," Daniel’s face turned serious as he said those words.

Mr. Charles looked at him and nodded with a warm smile. He gave a small bow and quietly stepped back.

Daniel watched him leave, then went to the kitchen to warm up some chocolate milk for Chantelle. After that, he headed upstairs.

He figured she must be done with her bath by now. It was the perfect time for some milk before bed.

But when he reached her room, the door handle wouldn’t turn.

That’s when he realized that this little heartless woman had locked the door.

Today, the kids weren’t home. Aside from Mr. Charles, it was just the two of them in the house.

Who was this little heartless woman being so careful about? The kids weren’t around. No one else was.

Damn it!

Daniel felt aggrieved and furious, but he had no way to vent his anger.

If he broke the door, it would definitely wake her up.

Forget it. I don’t want to scare her again.

I’ll just go back to my room.

Daniel sighed and thought to himself. He took a sip of the chocolate milk and went upstairs.

But he felt hot. His throat was still dry, even after finishing the glass of milk.

He poured himself another glass of water, but it didn’t help. The thirst wouldn’t go away.

Daniel felt his body heating up fast. Something wasn’t right.

He grabbed his phone and quickly texted Philip.

Daniel: "Philip, are you asleep?"

At that moment, Philip was in the guest room at Thea’s place, wrapped in a blanket and playing games on his phone.

He had dropped rank last time after logging off too soon, so now, the moment he came back online, a few angry teammates were already blasting him.

He had promised to focus only on the match today, no matter what happened. He wanted to win back everyone’s trust.

Just then, Daniel’s message popped up.

He ignored it and picked a cool Wild King character. He was ready to prove himself with skill alone.

After all, he was one of the top players in Easthan. Nothing was going to stop him from winning.

"Game on, mates!"

"With our boss here, we’re winning this time!"

"Go, Philip!"

"Philip, you’re the best!"

The team cheered the moment the game began. Philip was fully into it, grinning as he played. He had already forgotten about Daniel’s message.

After all, he had full trust in the special medicine he made himself. It was sure to work.

Daniel probably texted just to say thanks. If it was just a thank-you message, he could read it later.

Philip grinned as he finished the match with a perfect win.

He was excited to lead his team to victory.

That felt amazing!

While he was still celebrating, he remembered Daniel’s message. Curious, he didn’t start another game. Instead, he exited and opened his Instagram message box.

That’s strange. There was no new message from Daniel after the last one.

Where’s the "thank-you gift"?

Philip quickly typed a reply.

Philip: "Hey Daniel! How’s my medicine? The effect is good, right?"

Philip: "I’ve decided to name it Blood Pill. Sounds cool, right?"

Philip: "Daniel, why aren’t you replying? Are you asleep?"

Philip stared at his phone, waiting for a response.

But time passed, and still no reply.

He started to feel anxious. Then, without thinking twice, he called Daniel right away.

The call finally connected.

"Daniel... Daniel? Why aren’t you replying to my messages?"

"Philip, what kind of medicine did you give me? I don’t feel right..." Daniel’s voice was faint, making Philip sit up straight in panic.

"Daniel, what’s going on? Why do you sound so weak? Don’t tell me... you overdid it or something?"

"I’m in ice water. The wound... it feels like it’s opened up again..."

"Huh? Why are you in ice water? If your wound opens up again, that’s serious!" Philip shouted.

He jumped up and ran out of the house.

Thea was busy working on a modeling sample when she heard the loud roar of a sports car outside. Before she could yell at whoever it was, she saw the car speed out of the yard.

She frowned.

Where was Philip going this late? He better not be heading to some nightclub.

Thea grumbled to herself, annoyed by his sudden exit.
