Chapter 209: I’ll Do What You Say
Chapter 209: Chapter 209: I’ll Do What You Say
"Actually, there’s one more way. It’s risky, but you could get a lot of money fast," Kingsley said, a little nervous.
"What is it?" Roman asked without showing any emotion.
He knew Kingsley was just trying to comfort him, so he didn’t feel any hope at all.
"I bought accident insurance before. The payout is one hundred million. You’re the one who’ll get it if I die in an accident."
Kingsley spoke with pain in his voice. This was the last plan he had prepared for Roman when things went wrong.
He had already decided that if Roman ever hit rock bottom, he would give up his life to help him.
"No! Kingsley, don’t even think about it. No matter how bad things get, you can’t do something so stupid!" Roman warned him. He sat up right away, clearly shaken by what Kingsley just said.
He did think about the insurance money for a moment. But he just couldn’t go through with it.
"Sir, this is the fastest way right now. If it weren’t for the Bently family, I wouldn’t even be alive today. I’ve lived long enough."
"Kingsley, no! We’ll find another way, okay? If you die, I don’t want to be left alone!" Roman’s hands were shaking as he held onto Kingsley’s. His mind was in chaos. But one thing was clear—he couldn’t let Kingsley die.
"Sir!" Kingsley felt a bit of hope. Roman finally looked like he was willing to fight again.
"Kingsley, go rent a house on the outskirts. Then sell this apartment and the villa that burned down. Sell everything. We need to get some cash first, don’t you think?" Roman said, finally making a decision.
He could barely afford to eat now. But this house could still sell for a good price.
Even though the villa was burned down, it was in a great location. Someone would buy it if the price was right.
"Sir, this is the only place you still own. Are you sure you want to sell it?" Kingsley asked, surprised.
"Sell it. Sell everything. Also, help me arrange an auction. We’re not going to continue the Shallow Bay project anymore."
Roman looked determined. He had clearly made up his mind.
"Sir, if we sell everything, we won’t get another chance!" Kingsley said. It was his first time seeing Roman like this. He knew how bad things were for the Bently family.
The only real hope left was finishing the Shallow Bay project. If they gave it up and sold it cheap, all their hard work would be wasted.
Worse, the Bently family would have no more projects. No one in Easthan wanted to work with them. But if they pulled this off, things might turn around.
Giving up now was like digging their own grave, even if they got some money from the sale.
"I’ve made my decision! We need to survive first before we can fight back. Do you get it? I want you to live, Kingsley!"
Roman grabbed him and shouted emotionally.
He didn’t know why, but when he heard Kingsley say he would die for him, something sparked in his heart.
All his life, he had a wife and kids, but no one had ever cared for him this deeply.
He didn’t want to lose again in this battle.
Not again.
"Sir, I hear you. I’ll do what you say!"
"That’s more like it! Why are you still standing there? Go now!"
"Yes, sir! I’m going right away!" Kingsley quickly wiped his tears, got up in a rush, and ran out the door.

Chantelle was feeling sleepy in the car on the way back. She dozed off without even noticing.
When she woke up, she found herself in Daniel’s arms. They had just reached Western Hill Villa.
She rubbed her eyes, still feeling sleepy. She tried to move, but Daniel held her even tighter.
"Don’t move, you’ll fall," Daniel said as he felt her shifting. He held her tighter and whispered near her ear.
The warmth of his breath made her ears tingle. Her face turned red.
"Let me go... I can walk," Chantelle mumbled, trying to push herself up.
"Ah!"
Daniel didn’t let her go. Instead, he moved slightly on purpose.
Chantelle thought she was about to fall, so she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Daniel! You did that on purpose!"
"My bad. My hands slipped away," he said with a straight face.
"You really expect me to believe that?" she said, pouting her lips. She knew Daniel was getting better at making things up.
"Put me down, quick—" Chantelle started to say, but she stopped when she saw Mr. Charles approaching them.
When she saw Mr. Charles, Chantelle quickly pulled away from Daniel.
It felt really awkward.
Daniel couldn’t help but chuckle at her reaction.
"Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, you’re back!" Mr. Charles greeted them, holding a tray.
On it was a small, clear porcelain bowl filled with brown liquid.
It looked like medicine.
"Sir, this is the tonic soup Mr. Philip sent. He said it’s specially made for your health. It was just boiled. You should drink it while it’s still hot," Mr. Charles said, carefully offering the tray.
He had only heard earlier that afternoon from Philip that Mr. Daniel was injured. It worried him a lot.
Since the medicine was prepared just for Daniel, he had boiled it slowly for three full hours.
Now that Daniel was back, he brought it out right away.
"I’m fine. Totally fine. I don’t need that medicine," Daniel said, clearly annoyed. He hated the bitter taste and didn’t want to drink it at all.
"Sir, Dr. Philip made this just for you. It’s good for your injury. Please trust him," Mr. Charles said, still trying to convince Daniel.
He looked genuinely worried about Daniel’s health.
Seeing that Daniel was being stubborn, Mr. Charles glanced at Chantelle.
It was clear he hoped she would help him.
"If Philip told you to take it, then you should. Your body does need some care right now," Chantelle quickly tried to coax him.
"My body is fine," Daniel insisted.
"Sure, you’re perfectly healthy. Now open your mouth. Be a good boy..." Chantelle said as she gently pulled him to sit on the sofa. Before he knew it, she had the bowl in her hands, ready to feed him.
She was used to taking care of Kane and Steph. Getting kids to take medicine wasn’t new to her.
