Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 203: Thea Bullies Me

Chapter 203: Chapter 203: Thea Bullies Me

The main mansion was very fancy, but the lights were kept extremely dim.

When Old Mr. Wilson was still alive, the place used to be bright and welcoming.

Now, it felt more like a vampire’s mansion, dark and creepy, making Chantelle feel uncomfortable.

While she was still thinking about it, Calvin’s voice came through the headset.

"Ms. Chantelle, I’ve switched the cameras in the main residence. There’s no one on the first floor. You can move ahead now," he said.

"Calvin, you said there’s no one on the first floor. What about the other floors?" Chantelle asked.

"Other floors... Ms. Chantelle, there’s no one on the other floors either. Something’s not right," Calvin said in a slightly shaking voice.

He checked the surveillance again and was sure that no one was in the entire main mansion.

That left only two possibilities.

Either the castle was really empty, or the signals were being tampered with.

From the way things looked, it was more likely the second one.

"Ms. Chantelle, something’s wrong. Retreat now!" Calvin said urgently.

"Ms. Chantelle?" he called again.

But Chantelle’s signal had already disappeared.

Calvin stared at the screen, unable to tell if what he was seeing was real or fake.

At the same time, Chantelle felt that something was wrong.

When she tried to call Calvin to check her situation, she realized she had already lost connection with him.

She tried to reconnect with Calvin but failed.

Things were getting strange. Could Joseph have already found her?

But it had been a while, and he hadn’t made any moves yet.

She remembered there was a basement in the castle.

It was mostly used to store random things, and the entrance should be through the small door on the right.

Since it was just a few steps away...

And since I was already here, why not take a look at it?

Chantelle took a deep breath and sprinted toward the basement entrance as fast as she could.

The Wilson Group of Companies.

Daniel sat at his desk, reading through files on well-known international doctors.

Even though Philip said he could treat Chantelle, Daniel thought bringing in more experts might help.

He believed that having extra support would only be good for Chantelle’s recovery.

Lately, he had also noticed that Philip looked a bit worn out and wondered if he was pushing himself too hard.

As Daniel was thinking about Philip, a video call request popped up.

Daniel looked at the call invitation in his Instagram message box on the computer screen.

He hesitated for a few seconds and chose to ignore it.

But Philip didn’t give up and kept calling even after Daniel hung up.

In the end, Daniel had no choice but to answer the call.

Philip’s face quickly appeared on the screen.

"Daniel, what are you doing? Why aren’t you answering my calls?" he complained.

"I don’t want to," Daniel replied flatly.

"Aww, Daniel! You can’t treat me like this! You’re the only one in this world who’s good to me," Philip whined.

"So, are you calling me now just to lose me?" Daniel said, leaning back in his chair with a bored look.

"You guys are bullying me," Philip whimpered through the call.

"You guys? Who else besides me can even stand you?" Daniel rolled his eyes.

"Daniel, you don’t get it! Thea isn’t even acting like a woman. She hit me!" Philip cried louder. "You have to do something for me!"

"It’s not the first time she’s hit you. Just endure it. She’s Chantelle’s best friend, after all," Daniel said, trying to calm him down.

Seeing Philip cry so miserably, Daniel couldn’t help but soften his tone.

"Hmph, you and Chantelle are such a lovely couple. Even both of you gave me the same answer!" Philip grumbled.

"I love hearing that," Daniel replied in a teasing tone.

"You! Fine, this is what I get for being your friend. But Chantie went too far. She didn’t just ignore my call, she actually blocked me! You better call her and tell her to unblock me, or I’m going to unfriend her!" Philip complained.

"She blocked you? That’s really strange. Our dear son is still with you... Wait, when did you find out she blocked you?" Daniel asked.

"Just now! I tried calling her, and it said her number’s not available!" Philip said, frustrated.

Daniel immediately felt that something was wrong and quickly called Chantelle himself.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed is not available..." a clear monotonous voice came immediately.

"Ah? So I’m not the only one who got blocked. I feel so much better now! Hahaha!" Philip laughed joyfully.

His face brightened up after knowing Daniel’s call didn’t go through either.

"Daniel, what’s wrong? Why are you so silent?" Philip asked carefully after noticing Daniel’s silence. He felt a little guilty for laughing at him.

Just then, Ashton rushed in, sweating and out of breath.

"Sir, we just got the news. Mrs. Wilson has gone to Skeynia Castle..." Ashton reported.

That was Joseph’s territory!

Ashton rushed to report the news because he was worried Mrs. Wilson might be in danger.

"Let’s go. We need to find out," Daniel said in a panicked voice.

Hearing the news, Daniel stood up right away. His face turned dark as he followed Ashton out.

Philip overheard their conversation and saw Daniel leave in a hurry.

He started to feel anxious too.

Daniel wouldn’t panic like that for no reason.

"Be careful, Daniel. Watch your old injury!" Philip shouted through the screen, but no one was left in the office to hear him.

Meanwhile, Chantelle had kept a low presence while heading inside the castle, and with the help of her thermal detector she made her way to the basement entrance.

The entrance was an old wooden door.

The paint had peeled off badly, showing its age and lack of care.

Up close, she could clearly see the marks left by time.

The door had a password lock installed on it.

She first checked her thermal detector to make sure no one was behind the door.

Then she carefully studied the lock.

It was an old-fashioned imported combination lock.

It looked like it had been made at least twenty years ago.

Back then, the battery for this kind of lock was usually placed outside.

If she removed the battery and drained both poles, the lock would reset to factory settings.
