Chapter 202: Be Careful, Miss Chantelle

Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Be Careful, Miss Chantelle

At Skeynia Castle, Joseph saw the signal showing Chantelle’s intrusion disappear. A wicked smile crossed his face.

He grabbed his cane, stepped forward, and headed straight to the third basement level.

Fred quickly followed behind him.

"Sir, our firewall was breached. Shouldn’t we strengthen our defenses?" Fred asked, looking worried.

He had been asking the doctor for some medicine when the security alert suddenly popped up, so he rushed over to report it.

But to his surprise, Joseph didn’t seem bothered at all. In fact, he even laughed, like he had expected it.

Fred felt even more confused.

"No rush. We have guests coming tonight. Just leave these small things for now," Joseph said while a vicious small still tugging on his lips.

"Guests? You mean the ones who just hacked into the castle’s security system?" Fred asked as he quickly understood what Joseph meant.

"You’re not that dumb, huh," Joseph said, looking at him with a bit of relief.

"Don’t worry, Sir. I’ll have our men available anytime. We’ll make sure our visitors don’t leave here alive," Fred promised earnestly.

"No!" Joseph warned him sharply. "Be careful. Don’t you dare hurt my Chantie!"

Joseph gave Fred a cold glare.

When Fred stayed silent, Joseph asked, "So, what are you planning to do to her?"

"I wouldn’t dare," Fred said quickly.

He hesitated for a few seconds but still didn’t have the courage to say what he was really thinking.

"You better be," Joseph said, giving Fred a scornful look.

He kept walking with his cane and soon reached the third basement level.

He stopped in front of a cell that had the clearest view of the surveillance screens.

The rusty iron door creaked open, and he walked inside.

Inside the cell, Kate sat on a cold iron bed, covered in blood and looking like she had no strength left.

The moment she saw him, she struggled to crawl over.

"Sir, I did what you asked. Chantelle will definitely take the bait. Please save me, Mr. Joseph! Please... my wounds are infected. It hurts so much," Kate cried as her bloody, filthy hand reached out to him.

Joseph looked down at her with disgust.

"If everything goes as planned, Chantelle will come to you soon. You know what to do then," he said coldly.

"I-I know," Kate stammered. "I’ll tell her this has nothing to do with you. I’ll say I did everything myself. I’m loyal to you, Mr. Joseph. Please, spare me. Please!"

Kate felt like a dying dog, desperately wagging her tail at his feet, begging for mercy.

The shame was way more unbearable than the pain in her body.

But she wanted to live. She had to live.

Chantelle was still out there. Even if she died, she would make sure to drag Chantelle down with her.

"If you’re still alive after Chantelle’s visit, maybe I’ll let a doctor treat you," Joseph said, amused as he watched the broken woman at his feet.

A dying person would give up everything just to stay alive.

And what Joseph wanted was someone burning with hatred—someone like Kate.

After having lunch at Thea’s house, Daniel rushed back to The Wilson Group of Companies.

Meanwhile, Chantelle stayed a little longer to play with the two kids before excusing herself to head back to Western Hill Villa.

She purposely left Kane and Rai at Thea’s place so that her plan for the night could go smoothly.

Of course, as Rai’s private doctor, Philip happily stayed behind to watch over them too.

With both Thea and Philip taking care of the kids, Chantelle felt more comfortable.

Time flew by, and it was almost evening when Chantelle got back to the villa.

Calvin had already prepared everything and was ready to leave with her.

Chantelle picked out a set of tights that were good for moving around at night.

She tied her hair into a simple high ponytail, giving herself a sharp and cool look.

After changing, she quickly went downstairs and got into the car waiting outside the villa.

As soon as she sat down, an invisible car cover was activated to hide their movements.

"Let’s go, Calvin," Chantelle said.

"Ms. Chantelle, this mission is dangerous. I already sent Thirteen ahead to make sure you’re safe," Calvin replied.

"Good," Chantelle nodded. She didn’t say much more. Having Thirteen there meant extra protection.

Night had already fallen as Calvin drove quickly toward Skeynia Castle.

Feeling tired after spending the day playing with the kids, Chantelle leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes for a nap.

An hour later.

The car slowly stopped near a small forest close to the castle.

Chantelle stretched out, put on her headphones and night vision gear, and got ready to head out.

"Be careful, Ms. Chantelle," Calvin reminded her.

"No problem," Chantelle replied casually, then quickly ran toward the west wall of the castle.

The wall wasn’t very high, but thick thorny bushes surrounded it, making it hard for her to get closer immediately.

Chantelle moved through the small forest and soon reached the base of the wall.

She looked around carefully and picked a spot where the vines were thinner.

She took out the potion she had prepared earlier and carefully dropped a few drops onto the vines.

In just a few seconds, the strong vines withered away, and the sharp thorns dried up, losing their sharp outgrowth.

Seeing the potion work, Chantelle grabbed the cloud hook hanging at her waist.

With a light flick, she hooked it onto the fence.

She pulled the rope, jumped, and easily flipped over the wall.

Landing successfully on the ground, Chantelle quickly saw a nearby building and hid herself.

Meanwhile, Calvin had successfully hacked into the castle’s security system.

"Ms. Chantelle, it’s ready. The courtyard cameras will be blocked for three minutes. You have three minutes to reach the main residence," Calvin said through the headset.

Chantelle pressed her headset and replied, "Copy that."

"There’s a patrol in the courtyard. Follow my instructions, Ms. Chantelle," Calvin added.

"Okay," Chantelle answered.

"On your left, twenty meters," Calvin said.

"On your right, fifteen meters," he added.

"Go through the main door. No guards nearby," he continued.

"I’m switching the surveillance now. Turn on your thermal detection to watch out for any sneak attacks," Calvin warned him.

Chantelle followed his instructions carefully, moving quickly and staying alert.

She made it inside the main mansion, found a hidden spot, and turned on her thermal detection as instructed by Calvin.
