Chapter 919: Stabbed him with a knife (4) Chapter 919: Stabbed him with a knife (4) “Jian Qing!”
Shen Yan caught up and saw Jian Qing jump off the cliff, his eyes splitting with rage.
“No!”
The sound of utter despair echoed at the bottom of the cliff. Watching Jian Qing disappear from his sight, Shen Yan’s face turned deathly pale.
His legs gave out and he staggered, nearly falling to the ground.
He was still too late!
“Second Young Master, slow down,” A’er said, following closely behind him.
Shen Hua stood at the edge of the cliff, looking down at the roaring waves below, the spray sweeping over everything. Jian Qing’s figure was nowhere to be found.
Damn it.
Veins popped on his temple as an icy anger radiated from him.
“Find her! Dig three feet into the ground if you must, but find her,” he ordered.
“Yes.”
The men in black quickly dispersed.
“Shen Hua, are you satisfied now?” a dark voice came from behind him.
“You drove Awei to jump into the sea years ago, and now you’ve driven her daughter to the same fate. Are you satisfied with this outcome?”
Shen Hua turned around to face the indignation in his eyes, his brow furrowing. “How are you here?”
“Did you think I didn’t know about the bugs you planted in my car? Do you think you have control over everything?” Shen Yan said coldly, his gaze seething with hatred.
“Shen Hua, you merciless man, I will never forgive you in this lifetime, never.”
To throw him off the trail, he had people impersonate him, staying in Beijing. But even rushing here, he was still a step too late.
“She jumped on her own. I gave her a chance; this is not my fault. Shen Yan, don’t forget that I am the one closest to you. Is this how you speak to me?” Shen Hua stepped forward, his gaze sharpening with a cold edge.
“So now, will you raise your hand against me for her sake?”
“What if I do?” said Shen Yan.
“Well then, go ahead and try,” Shen Hua said, his long arm reaching out and taking A’er’s dagger from his waist.
A’er’s expression tightened, “Young Master.”
“Shen Yan, if you want revenge for her, then take action,” Shen Hua urged, thrusting the dagger into his hand and pointing to his own chest.
“Young Master, the Second Young Master only spoke in a fit of anger; please don’t take it personally,” A’er said.
Shen Yan looked down at the dagger in his hand, the image of Jian Qing leaping off the cliff replaying in his mind.
His grip tightened on the dagger, and he swung it fiercely. Shen Hua did not flinch or move, just stood there.
The sharp blade pierced the flesh, and blood, as red as demons, spurted out, staining his black clothes.
“Second Young Master!” A’er looked at Shen Yan in disbelief, his eyes flitting to the dagger in Shen Hua’s shoulder, his heart tightening.
Shen Hua lowered his gaze to the dagger in his shoulder, his eyes dark and unreadable.
He let out a cold laugh, “Shen Yan, you’re still quite the brother to me.”
All his life he’d worked hard for him; now, for Jian Qing, he’d even dared to strike at him.
Wonderful indeed!
“You forced my hand,” Shen Yan said as he pulled out the dagger, ignoring the gushing blood, and spoke without emotion, “I told you, if you touched her, you would force me to become your enemy.”
Enraged, Shen Hua shouted, “Shen, Yan!”
Ignoring his fury, Shen Yan dropped the dagger and turned to leave, “A’er, let’s go.”
A’er glanced at Shen Hua, then quickly followed after him, “Yes.”
Shen Hua stared at the dagger in the mud, a slight pain from his shoulder reminding him of the events that had just unfolded.
Elsewhere
Once out of Shen Hua’s sight, Shen Yan collapsed to the ground.
He propped himself up with one hand on the ground and clutched at the fabric over his chest with the other, his expression one of pain.
