Chapter 918: 904, you can’t even compare (3) Chapter 918: 904, you can’t even compare (3) Shen Hua’s eyes glinted with a sly smile, “Jian Qing, the reverse psychology won’t work on me, don’t waste your energy.”

“Did you kill Zhao Xuan?” Jian Qing asked bluntly.

“Heh.” Shen Hua’s voice was icy, “So what if I killed her? I’ve let her live for over a decade, which is merciful enough. Jian Qing, don’t forget she once drove into your mother. I dealt with her for you; you should be thanking me instead.”

Jian Qing immediately seized the crux of his words, “You knew Zhao Xuan?”

Could it be that he and Zhao Xuan had known each other for over a decade?

Shen Hua sneered with scorn, “As if that kind of woman was worthy.”

Jian Qing’s dark eyes narrowed, “Did you kill Zhao Xuan because you were afraid she would reveal your secret?”

“Who told her to be so insensible, thinking about betraying me without weighing her own significance. Since she sought death, I simply obliged.”

The tumultuous waves churned as the man’s cold voice carried a thick murderous intent.

“Is my mother’s death related to you?” Jian Qing reacted swiftly, connecting all the events together, as the fog of confusion swirling in her heart began to clear with the dawn.

Before the words had fallen, the man erupted like an enraged lion, his killing aura bursting forth.

“Shut up.”

Undaunted, Jian Qing looked calmly into the eyes of the man opposite her.

“What, did I hit a nerve, so now you’re filled with rage? Otherwise…”

Her mocking tone made Shen Hua frown and interrupt her sharply.

“What do you know? How could I possibly harm her? I loved her more than anyone in the world. When we were children, she promised to be my bride, but she broke that promise.”

No one could question his love for her.

What happened back then was due to his miscalculation, but he had no regrets, except that he wished he had tied her to his side sooner and not given others the opportunity to intervene.

“Who are you, exactly?” Jian Qing asked coldly.

From childhood to adulthood?

What exactly was this man’s past with her mother?

“Jian Qing, if you want to see your mother, just come with me obediently. Considering you’re her daughter, I can let you live a while longer.”

Jian Qing scoffed, her fists clenching until her knuckles cracked, “Since you refuse to utter a single truth and you don’t dare to show me your real face, then we have nothing more to talk about.”

Shen Hua appraised her with a glance, a hint of contempt in his eyes, “Jian Qing, you should realize by now that my men have surrounded us. I assume you know it’s hard to fight against multiple opponents with your fists alone.”

“What, are you afraid you’ll lose to me, so you need to call on your lackeys for help?” Jian Qing’s red lips pursed slightly, her tone tinged with provocation.

Shen Hua laughed heartily, his eyes devoid of mirth, “So what if I indulge you in this little game?”

Jian Qing’s cold gaze hardened, and with a swift movement, she launched a punch towards Shen Hua’s face.

“Heh, interesting.” Shen Hua sidestepped and countered with a punch of his own aimed at Jian Qing, the fierce power of his blow showing no intention of pulling punches.

The sky grew increasingly dark, a fine rain intensifying, thunder sounding, the entire world blanketed in a veil of rain.

In the drenching downpour, the two fought relentlessly, the atmosphere growing even tenser.

“You’ve got some skills, girl,” Shen Hua chuckled coldly, grabbing her arm.

Jian Qing remained silent, her foot shooting towards his abdomen. Shen Hua didn’t dodge; his long, powerful leg met her kick head-on.

“Whoosh—”

Rain splashed as both of them took a step back.

A faint taste of blood spread over her lips. Jian Qing spat out a mouthful of blood and fixed her gaze on him.

As rain streamed down his face, Shen Hua squinted, swallowing the sweet taste of blood in his throat.

He signaled with his hands behind his back, and a wave of men dressed in black surged from all directions, encircling Jian Qing.

“Jian Qing, just surrender and come with me obediently. Not only will you get to see your mother, but I also won’t harm you for the time being,” Shen Hua said.

Jian Qing glanced at him, the corners of her lips curling up into a mocking smile. “No wonder my mom didn’t choose you; compared to my dad, you are not even close.”

Shen Hua’s expression behind his mask changed slightly, his teeth grinding as he asked, “Last chance, life or death, make your choice.”

Jian Qing, “I’m returning those words to you.”

“Unappreciative.” Shen Hua’s cold voice snapped.

With a sweep of his arm, a group of men in black surged toward Jian Qing from all sides.

Jian Qing’s brows furrowed, and her steps shifted, her slender figure weaving through the men in black.

She stretched out her fingers, grabbing one of the men in black by the neck followed by a crack; blood trickled from the corner of the man’s mouth as he lost his breath.

“Thud—”

Shen Hua stepped back, his peripheral vision scanning the dense forest not far away.

A flash of green streaked by, almost blending with the leaves, as a silver needle flew through the air, aiming straight for Jian Qing’s direction.

Jian Qing was covered in blood, most of it from the men in black.

She kicked away a man in black approaching her, then, sensing the killing intent from behind, her eyes cooled, and she dodged to the side.

The silver needle, shimmering with cold light, missed its target and buried itself in the muddy ground. Jian Qing glanced at it, her eyes turning icy.

Despicable!

Wave after wave of men in black fell, and yet more charged forward, all unarmed, as if they only intended to wear Jian Qing down through sheer numbers.

Jian Qing looked in Shen Hua’s direction, her gaze darkening.

She could feel his intent to kill her, but he seemed to want to take her alive instead of ending her life right there, otherwise, why wouldn’t a single one of these numerous people wield a weapon?

What exactly was his aim?

Without giving her a chance to think, the number of men in black grew. Jian Qing, like Shura emerging from a battlefield, harvested the life of each man in black single-handedly.

“Boom boom boom—”

The lightning flashed, and the thunder roared, the rain growing heavier.

The rain washed away the blood on the ground, spreading a thick scent of blood through the air.

“Ugh—”

Catching her off guard, a silver needle pierced her shoulder, and a numbing sensation rapidly spread, corroding her consciousness.

She frowned deeply, ignoring the silver needle in her shoulder and struggling to maintain consciousness as she dealt with the unending stream of men in black.

The effect of the silver needle gradually took hold in Jian Qing’s body, and her speed started to slow.

Even the most robust constitution couldn’t withstand wave after wave of attackers, not to mention the silver needle that had struck her.

She retreated, turning her head to look down, and saw the surging waves roaring unchecked.

“Whoosh—”

“Jian Qing, what’s your decision?” Shen Hua stepped forward, and the men in black cleared a path for him.

“The more you want to catch me, the less I’ll let you succeed. You might as well save these despicable tricks from embarrassing yourself,” Jian Qing bit her lip hard, the pain bringing a semblance of clarity.

“Do you think you still have a chance to escape?” Shen Hua said coldly.

“I will come back to settle this score with you one day.”

With those words, she turned and jumped down, her resolute silhouette causing Shen Hua’s face to change abruptly.

“No, stop, Jian Qing,” He called. Her heart was needed by Ayan, and he hadn’t exhausted so much effort just to see this outcome.
