Chapter 697: 683, Newlyweds are different (1)_1 Chapter 697: 683, Newlyweds are different (1)_1 The two locked eyes, then suddenly, both turned to Jian Qing and Jian Luo at the same time and asked in unison.

“Darling, whose is prettier, mine or his?”

“Luo Xiaobai, which one looks better?”

They were clearly just watching the show, but suddenly, the spotlight was turned on them. Jian Qing and Jian Luo looked innocently surprised.

Jian Qing and Jian Luo exchanged a glance and said in sync, “Both are pretty.”

“No, you must say which one is prettier.” Quan Jingwu and Black Jack showed an odd agreement on this.

A pair of purple eyes and a pair of blue eyes stared at them, making Jian Qing and Jian Luo feel extremely pressured.

Jian Qing placed her hand on her forehead, a laugh bubbling up from her heart.

Alright, they wouldn’t listen to kind words.

She smirked, her smile chilling, “Both are ugly. You two are in your fifties, aren’t you embarrassed to be so childish?”

Her words hit home. Jian Luo, standing behind Jian Qing, secretly gave her a thumbs up.

My, the sister’s awesome.

Two prominent men in the outside world lowered their heads in response to Jian Qing’s teasing, scrutinizing their creations once again.

Although they appeared… somewhat ugly.

However, wasn’t there a saying that ugliness can be artistic?

“Alright, stop dawdling. Quickly send your works to the kiln,” Jian Qing glanced at the two men and said.

Quan Jingwu picked up his piece and casually threw it into the heap of clay. The odd-looking cup, which Black Jack had said looked like it was gnawed by a dog, immediately turned into mush.

Taken by surprise, Jian Qing and Jian Luo stared blankly for a moment.

“Xiaojing!” Jian Qing glanced at the discarded cup, turned back in surprise, and stared at him, shocked.

Quan Jingwu washed his hands, wiped them dry, and held her cool hand, “It’s ugly, I don’t want it anymore. I’ll make a better one for you next time.”

Jian Qing nearly burst out laughing but she managed to stop in time, nodding earnestly, “Okay.”

Then came another bang.

But this time, it was Black Jack.

He casually discarded his cup, which Quan Jingwu had said looked like it was scratched by a chicken claw, and it too turned into mushy clay.

Since Quan Jingwu had already destroyed his embarrassing failure, he wasn’t a fool to keep his and give Quan Jingwu another reason to tease him.

“Black Jack, why did you throw yours away too?” Jian Luo feigned ignorance.

Didn’t these two just insist that their creations were beautiful? But now they discarded them without batting an eyelid.

“Because I feel like it,” Black Jack replied.

Jian Luo suppressed his laughter, his shoulders shaking slightly.

“Why don’t you wear more when you go out, your hand is so cold.” After holding it for a while, the hand wrapped in his palm was still very cold, causing Quan Jingwu to furrow his brows.

Jian Qing giggled, “It’s not cold outside.”

Quan Jingwu glanced at her thin sweater, took off his own jacket without a second thought, and helped her put it on.

“Put it on, it’s starting to get windy outside.” His magnetic voice was somewhat hoarse.

Jian Qing raised her arms to make it easier for him to put on the jacket. The oversized jacket almost wrapped her like a zongzi (rice dumpling).

At the side, Jian Luo was replying to a message from Bai Jue on his phone when suddenly, a dark shadow flew over his head and blocked his view.

He reached up to pull off the clothing. The black jacket was still warm from the man’s body heat. Just as he lifted his head, Black Jack’s voice came over.

“Just wearing a shirt in this weather, do you want to catch a cold?”

Jian Luo rolled his eyes and swiftly put on the jacket.

After leaving their address, the four of them left the Pottery Gallery together. When they returned to the Manor, both Grandpa Jian and Mo Xiao were out.

After lunch, the four of them went back to their rooms to rest.

In the evening when Grandpa Jian returned, he saw only Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu in the living room and asked, “Where are Luoluo and Black Jack?”

“Black Jack just went out, and Luoluo is probably still asleep.” Jian Qing put down her game console, remembering the two of them locked behind their doors the whole afternoon, a knowing smile tugged at her lips.

“How is he still asleep?” Grandpa Jian sat down across from them. Hearing that Jian Luo was still asleep, he confirmed worriedly, “Is he feeling unwell? Qin Bo said they got soaked in the rain when they were running in the morning. Did he catch a cold?”

“It’s okay, he probably got up too early this morning and is catching up on sleep,” Jian Qing reassured him.

Upon hearing this, Grandpa Jian finally relaxed. Then he turned his attention to her still flat belly, scrutinizing it.

“Little Qingqing, why is your belly still the same? Are you lacking nutrition? Why are you still so skinny?”

He remembered that when his wife was three months pregnant, her belly had rounded out a bit. But with Qingqing, she was still so slender.

“Why don’t you stay here a bit longer? I’ll have Qin Bo find a nutritionist for you to prepare some supplements for you every day,” he suggested.

At the mention of supplements, Jian Qing felt a sense of dread, let alone drinking them every day. That would be even worse.

“No, Grandpa, the doctor said I’ll start showing when I’m four months’ pregnant. This is normal and has nothing to do with nutrition,” she declined hastily.

“How can it not be related to nutrition? When you’re pregnant it’s crucial to have enough nutrients. You can’t be careless. Giving birth can be tough.” Grandpa Jian recalled his wife giving birth to Weiwei, it was still fresh in his mind.

“When your grandmother gave birth to Weiwei, she was in pain for several hours. You need to take in enough nutrients, maintain your health, and have the strength to give birth,” he stated emphatically.

Listening to Grandpa Jian’s insightful words, Quan Jingwu frowned deeply, suddenly realizing that giving birth for a woman was equivalent to entering the Ghost Gate.

He turned to glance at the woman beside him. Her delicate face reflected in his eyes. Imagining her in labor, his heart twisted into a knot.

His darling was most afraid of pain.

At that moment, he regretted. He regretted letting her carry their child so soon.

They were sitting close together, every change in his emotion visible to Jian Qing. She looked at him, reached out to hold his hand, and found it was unusually cold.

“Xiaojing, what’s wrong?” she asked.

“Nothing,” Quan Jingwu hid the deep emotions in his eyes and answered softly.

Seeing that he didn’t want to talk about it, Jian Qing didn’t ask further. She thought she would ask him again when they were back in their room.

After dinner, Quan Jingwu was pulled by Grandpa Jian to play chess, while Jian Qing went upstairs to find Jian Luo.

In the hallway, Jian Qing looked at the closed door and knocked twice but there was no response.

“Luoluo!”

“Sis, come in.” a polished voice came through the door, carrying a hint of huskiness from just waking up.

Jian Qing gripped the doorknob, turned it gently, and pushed open the door to enter.

The light in the room was dim, with only a small bedside lamp turned on.

“Are you planning to sleep the entire afternoon away?” Jian Qing reached out to turn on the light and teased.

From the bed, Jian Luo popped his head out from the covers. His chestnut-colored hair was in a complete mess.

He sat up, his head somewhat groggy, “Has Black Jack not returned yet?”

“As soon as you wake up, you ask about Black Jack. Tut tut, newlyweds are indeed different.” Jian Qing stood next to his bed, her arms folded in front of her chest, teasing with a grin.
