Chapter 696: 682, Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law hurting each other (3)_1 Chapter 696: 682, Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law hurting each other (3)_1 Not far away, Jian Qing smiled gently, focusing attentively on the dish she was crafting with her hands.
“Aly, stop it and leave.” Seeing trouble ahead, the bespectacled man pulled Aly aside and said softly.
“If you continue to stir things up, the one who will suffer is you. Don’t forget what happened in the past.”
Aly gave Jian Luo a resentful look and reluctantly left with the man.
The glass door closed, restoring quiet in the pottery room.
Suddenly, the sound of a phone ringing blared from the ground.
Jian Qing carefully placed the finished dish aside, cleaned her hands, checked her phone, and saw that it was from her household’s dominant male figure.
“Xiaojing!”
“Sweetheart, where are you?” A low, raspy voice came through, creating a slightly confusing effect.
“At the Pottery Gallery. Are you coming over?” Jian Qing asked.
“Yes, we’ll come now.” At the end of the call, Quan Jingwu warned her anxiously, “Don’t run around.”
Jian Qing responded with an “okay” and hung up.
“Are both of them coming?” Jian Luo asked.
Jian Qing nodded: “Looks like there won’t be any ice cream today.”
“Sis, I think you never intended to let me eat it, did you?” Jian Luo said with a smile that was half-teasing, half-serious.
Jian Qing confessed openly with a slight smile: “If ‘Sis’ can’t eat, how could you, as my little brother, have the nerve to eat it alone?”
“…”
Just as he thought, he was right.Jian Luo played with the clay, glancing at several small cups on the table next to Jian Qing, curiosity flashing in his eyes.
“Sis, why are you making so many small cups? Are you planning to take all of them home?”
“Uh huh, they’re for the baby.” Mentioning her child, a warm smile filled Jian Qing’s clear eyes, sparkling brighter than the stars in the night sky.
“You don’t need that many for a baby.” Counting carefully, Jian Luo found that there were precisely ten small cups.
Jian Qing explained: “Just in case, if one gets broken, there are others to use.”
Jian Luo nodded in agreement—it’s quite common for children to knock things over, so it’s a good idea to make a few extras in advance.
Not long after, Quan Jingwu and Black Jack arrived. Black Jack was familiar with this place, but for Quan Jingwu, this was his first visit to the Pottery Gallery.
“Xiaojing, come here!” Jian Qing waved at him, her pure white hands covered in clay. When she waved her hand, tiny fragments of clay continually fell off.
Quan Jingwu walked over, bent down, held her from behind, and gently kissed her cheek, “What brought you here?”
“Do you like these?” Jian Qing pointed to the finished pottery models on the table next to her, a smile curving at the corner of her lips.
Quan Jingwu gave a smirk: “Did you make these?”
“Yes, they are cups for the baby.”
“All for the baby?” Quan Jingwu asked repeatedly, a hint of jealousy in his tone.
“Yes.” She nodded.
“What about mine?” Quan Jingwu asked with a trace of expectation.
Jian Qing chuckled. She knew this man would be jealous. She looked across the room and pointed, “Look there.”
Following her gaze, he saw a pair of identical cups displayed on the small table across from them. They were the same size and shape.
“We each have one. Should we keep them in your office?” Jian Qing looked up at him and asked softly.
Quan Jingwu smirked, a deep laugh rumbling from his throat. His eyes dropped to meet hers, and he couldn’t help but give her lips a slight peck.
“Okay.”
“Ahem, you two, tone it down a bit, there are others here.” Jian Luo jumped out and said, ruining the mood, teasing laughter sparkling in his eyes.
“You two can do the same, Xiaojing and I won’t mind.” Jian Qing teased back.
Jian Luo immediately fell silent.
“Xiaojing, do you want to play too?” Jian Qing mischievously grabbed his hand, spreading the clay from her hand onto his.
“Black Jack, how about you two have a competition?” Jian Luo chimed in, dragging Black Jack into the mess.
Although Black Jack had been to the Pottery Gallery a couple of times, he had only ever accompanied Jian Luo. As for pottery, the otherwise proficient Count was completely at a loss.
Black Jack looked at him helplessly, reached out and knocked on his head, “Are you that eager to see me embarrass myself?”
Jian Luo nodded enthusiastically, “Don’t feel discouraged yet, who knows, Quan Jingwu might do worse, and you might still have a chance to win.”
These words made Jian Qing burst out laughing and infuriated Quan Jingwu.
“Luo Luo, be careful what you say. Xiaojing might not necessarily lose.”
She knew that her household’s overlord was capable of conquering even the kitchen, so pottery should be no problem.
“Then it’s settled, each of you will make a cup.” Jian Luo stood up, making room for Black Jack and forcing him to sit down.
Like Jian Luo, Jian Qing also got up to let Quan Jingwu take her place, swiftly planting a kiss on his cheek before stepping aside.
“Xiaojing, I am rooting for you.”
Meanwhile, Black Jack caught sight of this scene and instantly looked at Jian Luo. His intense gaze startled Jian Luo.
“What?” Jian Luo feigned ignorance.
Black Jack smirked, “What do you think?”
Noticing the glances from Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu, Jian Luo awkwardly turned his face away, picked up the small cup Jian Qing had just made, and walked off, leaving a phrase behind.
“In your dreams.”
“Haha!” Knowing her brother was only embarrassed, Jian Qing picked up the remaining small cups and followed him to a large table not far away.
They both picked up their drawing tools and started doodling on the small cups.
Quan Jingwu and Black Jack exchanged a glance, an invisible tension spreading in the air.
In the following time, this is what happened in the room:
The two men busily flipped through a tool book, then began to knead the clay. In theory, it was easy to understand, but in practice, the products were lopsided and uneven.
Black Jack looked at his lopsided pottery artefact and furrowed his brow. He glanced at Quan Jingwu’s work and was relieved to see that Quan Jingwu was in the same boat.
Having completed their doodling in about half an hour, Jian Qing and Jian Luo sent the cups to be fired. They then came back to inspect the two men’s work.
“You’ve both spent almost an hour and produced… this?” Jian Luo looked at the items on the table, stifling his laughter, but in the end, he couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
Jian Qing didn’t laugh as wildly as him, but her eyes were filled with amusement.
On the table, there were two peculiarly shaped “cups” that were more like basins than cups.
Quan Jingwu lowered his gaze to his own product, peeked at Black Jack’s work, and scoffed, “Yours looks like a dog chewed it.”
“Yours resembles a chicken scratched it.” Black Jack retorted with equal harshness.
Quan Jingwu looked up at him. Their critical gazes clashed, sparking tension in the air.
“Yours would best be used for holding dog food.”
Black Jack responded coldly, “Yours is perfect for holding cat food.”
“Your cup is too ugly.” Snake King turned the tables by giving a more straightforward critique.
Black Jack snorted, “Yours is even uglier.”
As they spoke back and forth, the tension intensified.
Jian Qing and Jian Luo exchanged glances, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
Why had these two begun to insult each other?
How immature.
