Monopolize My Mysterious Wife
Chapter 1057 - 1057 1042 Locke (11)

Chapter 1057: 1042, Locke (11) Chapter 1057: 1042, Locke (11) Jian Luo looked longingly at the ice cream on the table, “Black Jack, my ice cream is going to melt soon.”

“Fail another exam and you won’t be allowed to eat chocolate either,” Black Jack threatened fiercely.

Upon hearing this, Jian Luo instantly behaved himself.

Writing German practice questions was the most torturous time for Jian Luo.

He bit his pen, looking up at the boy reading across from him, “Black Jack, I haven’t done my school homework yet, can I write that first?”

“No,” Black Jack said without even looking up.

“What about my homework then?” Staying up late to do homework was the biggest torment in life.

Black Jack curved his lips into a smile, “Take your time.”

Jian Luo drooped his head dispiritedly and continued writing.

Don’t know how to do this one, skip it.

Um… don’t know this one either, skip again.

After several questions he couldn’t tackle, Jian Luo slammed his pen onto the table, his delicate face with a hint of childishness turning beet red, “This is absolutely outrageous.”

The test papers from this antique are way too difficult.

Out of the corner of his eye, Black Jack glanced at him, his lips lifting in an attractive curve.

He closed his book, set it aside, and then reached for the test paper.

Other than the first question which had an answer written in, the rest were blank, and to make matters worse, half of the answer to the first question was incorrect.

Black Jack admitted defeat to him, grabbed the pen and crossed out the answer he had written, then tapped his head with the pen, “You seem to have grown even stupider after not seeing you for a while.”

Jian Luo huffed.

“Watch carefully, I’ll explain it to you once. If you get this wrong in the next test, I will confiscate all your snacks,” Black Jack tapped on the table, saying the words in a deep voice that made Jian Luo itch with annoyance.

“I believe your sister would support me in this.”

For the following period, Black Jack’s deep voice echoed continuously in the room.

All of a sudden, Jian Luo looked up, asking curiously, “Black Jack, doesn’t teaching me German for so many years get on your nerves?”

Even Bai Jue was got so annoyed with him that he would stomp his feet, yet he seemed so good-tempered.

“I am always more tolerant towards the not-so-smart,” Black Jack responded tersely, turning the page of the test paper.

Jian Luo, “…”

He really wanted to tear up the test paper and kick him out.

Halfway through the test paper, Jian Luo grew restless again.

He sneakily put down his pen, attempting to distract Black Jack by starting a conversation, “Black Jack, where are you going this winter break?”

“F Country. Want to join?” Black Jack asked.

“No way, your trip to F Country is just going to the company to learn; I don’t want to go with you. I want to go on vacation,” Jian Luo said proudly.

“Vacation?” Black Jack put down his book, looked up and asked, “Where to?”

Jian Luo replied, “Switzerland.”

“With whom?”

“With my sister, of course.”

Black Jack grunted in acknowledgement.

“Black Jack, is there anywhere you particularly want to go?” Jian Luo’s thoughts jumped abruptly, and Black Jack felt somewhat helpless.

“No.”

Not believing him, Jian Luo asked again, “With the world so large, you don’t have anywhere you particularly want to visit?”

Black Jack gave him a curious look, “Is that so strange?”

Every winter and summer break, he would fly to a country, and after so many years he had been to quite a few places, but there was nothing he yearned for since every visit was for company training anyway.

“Of course,” Jian Luo said without hesitation.

Black Jack queried, “So where do you want to go?”

“There are so many places,” Jian Luo nodded, then spoke poetically, “The world is so big, I want to go and see it all.”

A black line fell down Black Jack’s forehead; he picked up the pen and shoved it back into Jian Luo’s hand, “I’ll buy you a globe tomorrow; not only can you look at it, but you can also spin it. For now, hurry up and finish your test paper.”

Jian Luo coughed up a mouthful of blood.

He didn’t want to chat with Black Jack anymore.

It was just too much bullying.

It was a very cold winter; the heavy snow almost turned the whole world into a frozen kingdom of snow. When you breathed out, it felt like your breath would freeze into crumbs.

That year, that snowy night, for Black Jack and Jian Luo, it would be deeply etched into their memories for a lifetime.

“Have you found Black Jack?” Bai Jue hurried to the manor, his forehead sweating despite it being the dead of winter.

Jian Qing shook his head, “His phone is off, and I called the fortress; he hasn’t gone back there either.”

“What happened?” Jian Luo asked as he dragged his suitcase inside, taking off his coat at the same time.

Bai Jue said, “Black Jack’s father passed away. We can’t contact him now.”

“What?”

Before his seat even had the chance to warm up, Jian Luo sprang to his feet.

“Didn’t you know?” Bai Jue asked.

“He never mentioned it to me. When I called him a couple days ago, he didn’t bring it up.” Jian Luo spoke calmly, knowing only that Black Jack’s family was somewhat complicated, and his relationship with his father had always been like fire and water. However, he did not expect his father to pass away so suddenly.

No wonder his voice sounded odd when Jian Luo heard it a few days ago; he had claimed it was just a slight cold.

This big idiot!

“Is there no news from his family?”

Jian Qing replied, “No, Bai Jue and I have searched all the usual places we go, but we haven’t found him.”

“Jian Luo, think carefully, has Black Jack ever mentioned a place he wanted to go?” Bai Jue asked.

Jian Luo frowned and concentrated hard.

Jian Qing and Bai Jue watched him, their hearts filled with concern for Black Jack.

After a long while, Jian Luo had a flash of insight.

“I’ve got it.”

“Where is he?” Bai Jue asked.

“Don’t worry, I’ll go find him. I’ll be back soon.” Jian Luo grabbed his phone and ran out quickly.

Watching Jian Luo’s hurried departure, Bai Jue and Jian Qing felt a sigh of relief wash over them.

The night was fading; the streets were covered with a thick layer of snow.

Under the streetlights, footprints of all sizes and depths edged into view.

“Stop here.”

Jian Luo handed the driver some bills and hurriedly got out of the car.

Stepping out into the biting cold, he couldn’t help shivering.

He sprinted all the way, his pale and handsome face gradually taking on a hint of red, with his breath visible as a faint white mist.

“Hah…”

When he reached the amusement park, he bent over, hands on knees, his breathing heavy and ragged.

Exhausted to death.

Looking up, he saw the amusement park’s gates were about to close.

“Wait!”

But before his voice faded, the gate closed with a thud, clad in ice and snow.

He was still a step too late.

He scanned the surroundings and his gaze fell upon the thick boundary wall.

A determined glint passed through his eyes, and then he agilely scaled the wall.

Black Jack, I’m really going all out for you this time.

He looked down, then leaped off.

Luckily, this spot was a blind corner, without surveillance; otherwise, it would have been a real hassle.

Jian Luo looked around the vast amusement park, rubbing his hands together, wondering where on earth to begin searching.
