Chapter 1048: 1033. Locke Side Story (2) Chapter 1048: 1033. Locke Side Story (2) “Luoluo!”
The crisp voice was soft and mushy.
Bai Jue and Black Jack followed the source of the voice and saw a little girl with carved features running towards them. Her thick, ink-like long hair casually spread behind her, and unlike other little girls in pretty dresses, she was dressed in black clothes and pants, topped with an off-white coat, clean and neat, with a touch of heroic spirit.
As they caught her dark, gem-like eyes, Bai Jue and Black Jack immediately thought of the little dumpling from before. With the same face and identical dark eyes, the relationship between this little girl and the boy was self-evident.
It seemed that they really were Grandpa Jian’s two grandchildren.
As they pondered, Jian Qing had already run up to them, Black Jack watched the little dumpling, who had just been very guarded towards them, run back to Jian Qing’s side and raised his eyebrows lightly.
“Luoluo, your gloves.”
Jian Qing went to help Jian Luo with his gloves. Seeing people surrounding her brother, she quickly ran over, worried he might be bullied, her fair little face glowing rosy.
Luoluo? Black Jack curled the corner of his lips.
“Sister, the Rubik’s cube.” Jian Luo let Jian Qing help him with his gloves, hanging his small head and speaking in a low, unhappy tone.
Bai Jue widened his eyes: so he wasn’t mute after all.
Jian Qing finished helping him with the gloves, lifted her hand to rub his chestnut hair, then pulled him protectively behind her. Her cold, inky eyes swept toward Black Jack and Bai Jue, without a hint of warmth.
“What do you want?”
Bai Jue, seeing her hostility, realized she had misunderstood and quickly explained, “Uh, we weren’t bullying your brother. Our grandpa and your grandpa are good friends. We just wanted to say hello and make friends. My name is Bai Jue, and he is Black Jack.”
Jian Qing looked at him skeptically, clearly not believing his words.
“Stay away from my brother.”
Bai Jue fell silent, “…”
Did he and Black Jack really look like bad guys?
“Rubik’s cube.” Jian Qing looked at Black Jack with her delicate little hand stretched out.
Black Jack glanced at Jian Luo hiding behind Jian Qing and returned the Rubik’s cube to her.
“Luoluo, let’s go.” Taking back the Rubik’s cube, Jian Qing held his hand and led him away.
Watching their retreating figures, Bai Jue slung an arm over Black Jack’s shoulder, “Black Jack, the two of them are quite interesting.”
Among those kids attending the banquet, which one wouldn’t cling to them? But these siblings really were different; avoiding them as if dodging bad guys.
Black Jack said nothing and walked away.
“Black Jack, where are you going?” Bai Jue called out.
“Interesting people, aren’t you thinking of getting to know them?” Black Jack said mysteriously.
Bai Jue chuckled and caught up with him as they headed back to the Banquet Hall.
The Jian Family dominated a sector in M Country and was long the target of flattery in the upper circles. Upon learning that old master Jian was attending the banquet with his two grandchildren, naturally, everyone was eager to see. After all, everyone knew that Jian Qing only had one daughter, Jian Wei, and no one had heard any news of her getting married. Suddenly two grandchildren emerged, stirring up everyone’s curiosity about the twists and turns involved.
“Miss Qing, the old master is over there chatting with a few friends, do you want to go over?” Uncle Qin saw Jian Qing returning with Jian Luo and quickly stepped forward to greet them.
Jian Qing shook her head. Though she was small, her mind was more mature than that of her peers. Holding Jian Luo’s hand, she said, “Uncle Qin, we are fine sitting here.”
Uncle Qin saw the two seated on the sofa and nodded slightly before going to get them some dim sum and beverages.
“Miss Qing, you both eat first. Grandpa will come over in a while.”
Jian Qing nodded and handed a small cake to Jian Luo, “Luoluo, eat the cake.”
Jian Luo took a small fork, speared a piece of the cake, and then passed it to Jian Qing, “Sister.”
Jian Qing’s rosy little mouth opened slightly to eat the cake, and Jian Luo’s eyes curved with joy as she too began to eat.
The brother and sister’s delicate features easily attracted the attention of the people around them, especially when they saw Uncle Qin speaking to them. It then became clear that these two little ones were the Jian family’s grandchildren.
Upstairs, Bai Jue leaned against the railing, watching the siblings sitting together on the sofa, and sipped his juice. “Black Jack, it looks like they are going to have trouble.”
Black Jack looked down and saw three or four little boys walking towards the Jian siblings. The taller boy even snatched Jian Luo’s cake away, his arrogant and domineering visage quite displeasing to look at.
He set down his juice and stood up to go downstairs.
“Black Jack, wait for me.” Bai Jue drank a couple of sips of juice, then followed him down.
“Apologize,” Jian Qing demanded, looking at the cake thrown on the ground, her small fists clenched tight, and her dark eyes sweeping towards the boy across from her with a cold voice.
The boy sneered, reached for a cake on the table, and threw it to the ground, “What if I don’t apologize? What can you do to me?”
“Sister,” Jian Luo said, looking at the cake on the ground and tugging at the edge of Jian Qing’s clothes with his cool little hand.
Jian Qing turned and looked at him, placing the Rubik’s Cube into his hands, “Luoluo, just sit here and be good. Nothing will happen.”
Jian Luo hummed affirmatively, and obediently sat on the sofa.
“Heh, little girl,” the boy looked at Jian Luo’s docile demeanor and taunted Jian Qing.
These two kids, Black Jack and Bai Jue would rather play with them and ignore the rest of us. What’s so great about them?
Jian Qing’s red lips pursed tightly, a sharpness flashed in her eyes, and then she stomped hard on the boy’s foot. While he was distracted, she kicked him in the abdomen.
For an average child, this kick might not have much force. Unfortunately, Jian Qing was anything but average. Since Grandpa had taken her back to M Country, she had been training at the headquarters every day, going for runs in the mountains each morning while other children slept in.
With long-term training, the power of her kick was comparable to a hard stone, enough to cripple someone.
The violent action frightened the other boys nearby, their smiles gone in an instant, their bodies tense, too afraid to move.
The boy fell to the ground while Jian Qing stepped on his hand and pulled out a dagger from her pocket. The dagger unsheathed, its sharp blade pressed against his throat.
She narrowed her eyes, cold light flashing, “Apologize or not?”
“Damn, that’s badass,” Bai Jue arrived and saw the scene. His look towards Jian Qing turned strange, with a hint of admiration.
True to the Jian family’s name, ruthless indeed.
He couldn’t help feeling relieved that he had not offended Jian Qing earlier. Who would have thought that this seemingly innocuous little girl could be hiding a dagger? Totally terrifying.
“I apologize. Please let me go, I’ll apologize…” The boy, spoiled by his family, had never seen such a scene and cowered instantly.
