Chapter 1049: 1034. Locke Side Story (3) Chapter 1049: 1034. Locke Side Story (3) “I’m sorry, it was my fault,” he said.

Jian Qing let out a cold snort, pressing the dagger against his throat, “Say that to my brother.”

With his palm being crushed in agony, the boy hastily did as Jian Qing instructed, looking at Jian Luo with a pale face, his voice trembling, “I’m sorry, it was my fault, I shouldn’t have thrown away your cake.”

“Next time you see us, take a detour,” Jian Qing toyed with the dagger, releasing his hand and standing up.

The boy scrambled up and away, and the other onlooking children, like birds startled by the twang of a bow, scattered upon witnessing Jian Qing’s ferocity. Even those boys who had been looking to start trouble quickly disappeared.

Luckily, this was an area where children played; otherwise, it would’ve surely drawn the attention of the adults, and Jian Qing would have really become infamous.

For a moment, only four people remained in the Rest Area.

Jian Qing completely ignored the presence of Black Jack and Bai Jue, turning her face towards Jian Luo. Seeing his mood a bit down, she put away the dagger, stuffed it back into her pocket, then took out some chocolate she had brought from home.

“Luoluo, eat this.”

Seeing the chocolate, Jian Luo’s cherry-pink lips curled into a shallow smile, a pure and impurity-free smile that crashed into Black Jack’s view.

He was slightly moved, ripples spreading in the depths of his eyes.

“Sister, let’s go home,” Jian Luo said, gripping Jian Qing’s hand tightly,

It was clear he was very attached to Jian Qing.

Jian Qing patted his head, “Okay.”

“No, wait, there’ll be fireworks here tonight; don’t leave so soon.” Bai Jue couldn’t let these interesting children go so quickly.

Jian Qing paused in her steps, “Move aside.”

Bai Jue was about to say something when Black Jack stretched out his hand and pulled him back.

After Jian Qing and her brother left, Bai Jue looked at him in confusion, “Black Jack, what are you doing?”

“Do you want to try getting beaten up?” Black Jack asked.

Bai Jue curled his lip, “I didn’t bully them.”

Black Jack said, “Didn’t you notice that the siblings are very averse to outsiders?”

“Of course, I noticed, especially that little Miss, she’s very violent,” Bai Jue touched his chin, the corner of his mouth holding a meaningful smile.

The next time they met Jian Qing and Jian Luo was a month later.

“Edra, long time no see, you weren’t at the last banquet either,” Grandpa greeted his old friend, a hint of a smile on his stern face.

“Isn’t this me coming specifically to finish that unfinished game of chess with you?” Edra slapped his shoulder, saying cheerfully.

“Bai Feng, what kind of good tea did you bring this time?” Grandpa asked, seeing the tea bag in Bai Feng’s hand, smiling warmly.

“You’ll know once you try it,” Bai Feng said.

“Grandpa Jian!” Black Jack and Bai Jue greeted politely.

“Grandpa Jian, where are your two little grandchildren?” Edra looked around curiously.

Grandpa said, “They are playing in the back garden.”

“Grandpa Jian, Black Jack and I really like Jian Qing and Jian Luo; can we go play with them?” Bai Jue asked unusually politely.

Grandpa Jian hesitated for a moment but eventually agreed, “Fine, I’ll have Uncle Qin take you there.”

Making more friends might actually be good for Qingqing and Luoluo.

“You two are the older brothers, don’t bully them,” Bai Feng tapped on Bai Jue’s head, cautioning him.

Bai Jue said with a beaming smile, “How could I, Grandpa?”

The violent Miss wouldn’t bully them, so it was out of the question for them to bully the siblings.

Uncle Qin took the two of them to the back garden, “Miss Jian Qing and Young Master Luo are inside.”

“Uncle Qin, what do Jian Qing and Jian Luo usually like to play?” Bai Jue held back Uncle Qin, who was about to leave, and asked.

Uncle Qin answered, “Miss Jian Qing and her brother seldom go out, so they don’t have any particular favorites.”

Bai Jue thanked him and then proceeded into the garden with Black Jack.

Around the lush ancient trees, a sea of flowers came into view.

“Where are they hiding?” muttered Bai Jue.

Black Jack said, “Over there.”

Bai Jue followed his gaze and saw Jian Qing and Jian Luo sitting on stone stools in the pavilion, both of them holding pens and seemingly writing something.

The two exchanged glances and then walked over with light footsteps.

Jian Luo looked up and inadvertently met a pair of blue eyes. With a slight furrow of his brow, he dropped his pen, jumped off the stone stool, and ran over to Jian Qing’s side.

“Sister.”

Having heard the footsteps, Jian Qing turned her head and saw Bai Jue and Black Jack just as they entered the pavilion.

“What are you doing here?”

“Jian Qing, don’t be so hostile toward us, we are not bad people. If you don’t believe it, you can ask your grandpa,” Bai Jue said helplessly as he looked at Jian Qing, who resembled a little hedgehog with its spikes raised at the sight of them.

“Is this your drawing?” Black Jack glanced at the drawing paper on the table, the fluid lines were not like those a child of such a young age could have drawn.

Jian Luo didn’t speak, just tugging on the corner of Jian Qing’s clothes.

Jian Qing put down her pen, took Jian Luo’s hand, and started to leave.

“Hey, don’t go, let’s talk,” Bai Jue chased after them, blocking their way, “Jian Qing, we really aren’t bad people. If we were, why would Uncle Qin bring us over to play with you?”

“Miss Jian!”

Uncle Qin came with drinks and dim sum for them, noticing the tense atmosphere and trying to ease the situation, he said, “Miss Jian, they aren’t bad people, the master sent them to play with you.”

Jian Qing looked at Black Jack and Bai Jue for a while, and the hostility in her eyes finally receded slightly, “Uncle Qin, we don’t need someone else to play with us.”

“This…” Uncle Qin looked troubled.

The young master and miss were too wary, what to do now?

“Uncle Qin, it’s alright, you can go. We can handle things here,” Black Jack suddenly said after a long silence.

Remembering what Old Master Jian had said, Uncle Qin nodded slightly, handed the tray to Bai Jue, and then turned to leave the garden.

“Jian Qing, our grandpa and your grandpa are very good friends. We won’t hurt you; we just want to be friends with you,” Black Jack said softly, looking at Jian Qing.

With a knack for livening up the mood, Bai Jue chimed in, “Come on, we’re all friends here, why not come and sit together?”

Jian Luo hid behind Jian Qing without saying a word, and the atmosphere among the four remained tense.

Bai Jue gave a wry smile, admitting defeat to the siblings.

He had never seen children with such a strong sense of caution.

“Do you two know how to play games?” Black Jack asked, pulling out the game console he had brought.

After looking at the game console in his hand, Jian Qing thought for a moment and said, “If I win, you leave.”

“That’s quite the bold statement,” Bai Jue laughed with a snorting sound.

Black Jack nodded, but he didn’t dare to underestimate Jian Qing; he remembered her well from the last banquet.
